TravJ1979
I thought Eric had more heat currently with Wade than Dave, so I'm surprised to see the Torch in there. What issue was Dave's review of Eric's book in? I think that as during one of my "lapsed" stages. If it's up on WO-4 in the issues archive, I'll grab it as it probably would be good airplane reading in a couple of weeks. John November 15, 2006 issue is the start of the book review/history of WCW. It goes 5 1/2 pages w/ to be continued... November 20, 2006 - this is the following weeks issue and it picks up with another 5 1/2 pages and another to be continued. November 27, 2006 has an additional two pages which is now more of a WCW history piece than book review. December 6, 2006 issue returns with 3 1/2 more pages after taking the previous issue off. It ends just before '99 gets going, but that's the end of the history of WCW as Dave moves on.

kjh
Well let's look at it, Shelton has been average at best for the last couple of years, Funaki, Yang, & Gordy were all curtain jerkers when they were used, Mickie is a country singer, & Katie had no role after Paul got cut. I'm not surprised with these. Good god I hate the IWC's love for Shelton. Wont be able to move for the crying the next few days. Has anyone ever done so much in a match (MITB) and never gotten over one iota extra as a result of it. The Mickie furor is going to be a million times worse. I remember when Molly Holly was released (well, actually she quit) There were multi-page threads everywhere demanding the boycott of WWE. To be fair, WWE's recent treatment of Mickie James has been pretty shabby. Not that it warrants a boycott of WWE or anything though.

El-P
Mickie James was "fat" by WWE standart. I guess that's why. The only talented woman on the roster too. Can you believe Funaki has been employed by Vince since 1998 ? Amazing. And they never did shit with him. Maybe the fact Michaels retired allowed him to get finally fired ? kjh
Mickie James was "fat" by WWE standart. I guess that's why. There's more to it than that. Dave Meltzer a few months ago teased that the impromptu move to Smackdown and the whole "Piggy James" ritual humiliation angle was to send her the message to get over John Cena, after they had a messy break up around the time Cena got married. goc
The move to Smackdown makes a lot more sense in that light, obviously if you had to move Cena or James because of their breakup, you would move the one who isn't your top star.

Ugh... That's really the sensitive thing to do, humiliate the girl who got through a messy breakup. That's totally the way to deal with it, just call the girl a pig on national television. What a bunch of jerks...

MJH
The whole "Piggie James" thing was ridiculous... but if you're Mickie James and you hook up with the top star in the company on the road knowing he's got a long-time girlfriend at home, I mean how do you think it's going to play out? I'm not condoning the "punishment" if it was for that, but it's a stupid call on her part, too.
Loss
I've decided that The Rock's concert where he sang "The Rock is cooler than Tom Cruise and Tom Hanks, but he still has to deal with all these ... Long Island skanks" is among the best few seconds of pro wrestling ever. In fact, The Rock's Hollywood star heel run in early 2003 was pretty brilliant. The Titantron video was fabulous too. sek69
From most accounts Mickie was a gigantic pain in the ass to deal with (no fat joke intended) and that some reports had her "being late" in Europe due to drinking too much the whole time, which begs the question how much do you have to drink for wrestlers to believe you drink too much? More than Sherri Martel It will be funny to hear a Ric Flairesque "We Want Mickie" chant at the PPV. More so if you're Irish.
Indikator
You can never drink too much. It just shouldn't collide with your job performance. She probably tried to piss people off. I once met up with an indy wrestler on a cold February morning, he was rather intoxicated and had lost his jacket at some point during the night, yet after a 7-9 hour drive where he wasn't the driver he worked a show without a hitch. And after that there was another drive like that and IIRC he wrestled the next day without anything even resembling a sleep. Wrestlers are like that. I wasn't at a 2002 Jake Roberts show, but apparently he was always a horrible drunkard. Yet, when his entrance theme came on he drank half a bottle of whiskey in one gulp and managed to turn his internal switch on - he was an absolute pro during the match

So Mickie makes a "stupid call" but Cena who was cheatting on her long-time girlfriend to boot when he was banging Mickie doesn't make any "stupid call" I guess. MJH
I wasn't condoning Cena's part in that at all. My point was Mickie should've known all along that it would be her to bite the bullet. I'm sure Cena knows and would admit it's a wrong way to carry on if pressed on the matter, but he also knows that in all probability he can get away with it as long as he's where he is and the girl isn't a McMahon family member. rzombie1988
I don't really buy the cheating excuse for firing her. I'd wager atleast 50% of the wrestlers there have cheated at one point. Off the top of my head I can name Batista & Melina(one of the worst ones), Vince, Edge and I'm sure there's many more. WWE just wanted to get rid of Mickie and finally had enough excuses to. She'll be fine though either way.
kjh
Well, Matt Hardy was basically fired for publicly whining about his messy break up with Lita, so it's not like WWE would be above firing Mickie James for going through a messy break up with their top star. I agree that it's not the whole story (WWE management also wouldn't be happy about her country singing career outside of the company either), but it's part of the story and I think deserves to be mentioned. goc
I don't think it has anything to do with cheating, it probably has to do with the breakup being messy. You know how it is when one person in a breakup doesn't want to move on, and imagine if you had to work and travel with this person. I think that is a fine justification for moving her to SD, but everything beyond like the Piggie James angle is just petty bullshit.
