Bix
Only in WWE: According to today's WON, either Vince McMahon or Kevin Dunn freaked out and was afraid that the name "Birmingham" sounded terrible, thus the tapings 2 weeks ago were only referred to as being from "the United Kingdom." Loss
Oddly enough, I just learned watching RAW that Hornswoggle is better at working a crowd and has more over signature spots than Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas combined. I would imagine it was Vince and his fear of sounding rural, since most people in the US associate "Birmingham" with Alabama rather than England. Loss
It amazes me that they can pay that level of attention to detail, but can't keep any continuity in their storylines at all.
Tim Evans
Is there anyone better mic wise right now than Santino Morrella? He sucks in the ring but man is he entertaining.
sek69
I don't think he's too bad considering how much he spent in a Russian MMA fighter gimmick in OVW before getting a character that was probably thought up on the plane ride to Italy. Mad Dog
It amazes me that they can pay that level of attention to detail, but can't keep any continuity in their storylines at all. That requires actual thought and impulse control. Didn't they at one point hire someone to keep continuity straight and then fire them after they pointed out too many plot holes from show to show? Jingus
Yes. Yes they did. They always identify the city at the beginning of every Raw taped in America.

And it still amazes me that people on the net can't get into a guy that sucks in the ring. Mic skills are separate from wrestling skills. Why is it a crime to admit a poor worker might have skills in another facet of the business? OMG he sucks in the ring so he can't be good at anything else! He's worthless, send him back to OVW! Loss
Santino has huge potential. I think he would be great as a manager who can occasionally take bumps, maybe paired with someone who is good in some areas, but lacks charisma. Maybe he could actually get Benjamin and Haas over or something.
tomk
So in latest Observer story about steroid dealers, he mentions that the new name released (as purchaser) was Joe Malenko. Miller claims to have supplied wrestlers between 2001-2003. WTF? I thought Joe was retired at that point. I thought he was a succesful pharmacist. Why does a pharmacist need a drug dealer? I remember the video packages when New Japan sent Nakanishi down to hang out with Joe Malenko and Gotch. But when exactly was that? Japanese wrestlers going on tour elsewhere and then returning larger is pretty standard. But it's Nakanishi, I don't emeber him being any more ridiculously roided post Florida excursion than he was before it.

sek69
I know it's been mentioned in passing in a few WONs, but I'm really starting to wonder with all the Hornswoggle stuff if the whole "little people are either all children or retarded" bit is yet another level of Vince weirdness. Like does he go around for real thinking all midgets are kids who don't grow up?
Marty
So, I'm browsing WWE.com out of boredom, and they have a special section discussing the 500th issue of WWE magazine. They have a neat list of past covers from the magazine too (which they're calling the greatest covers), which is notable for a couple things: 1. There's at least three covers I've noticed where the "WWF" initials are NOT edited. This in spite of the editing of the scratch logo from some of the 1998-2002 covers to the current logo. 2. On page 2 of the greatest covers section is the one in 2000 featuring the Radicalz, with you-know-who surprisingly not edited out or anything like that. Guest *FH*
I think they can write the initials, but not say them, and they definitely can't use the scratch logo. The whole thing is so ridiculous.
Bix
JBL's wife gets death threats from investors after downgrading CitiGroup. Ms Whitney, a CIBC analyst who is married to the former World Wrestling Entertainment champion Death MaskUsing the gimmick name that he used for a handful (or less) of shows in Japan is either a rib or the weirdest bit of research ever.
