C.S. Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 Hey, Bubba, you ready for some fine sports-entertainin'? Quote
cactus Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 Evening lads. I'm going to try and stay up and watch this as I have nothing else to do. Piss poor card on paper. I'm mainly watching this to see what they're going to do with Orton/Edge. Quote
FMKK Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 This is some wild shit from the lawsuit over Saudi Arabia. Probably a bigger story even that THE GREATEST MATCH EVER Quote
Strummer Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 Fightful reporting Edge was injured at the Backlash tapings well shit that's not good Quote
SmoothS Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 Sounds like THE GREATEST ACCIDENTAL HANDICAPPED MATCH EVER. I'm going to be watching various Japanese matches from promotions like NOAH, DDT, & 2AW tonight instead. About to watch a random David Starr match that was just uploaded to YouTube. Can't wait for NJPW to come back, baby!! Quote
SirEdger Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 Oh yeah, you're right, it returns tonight. Meanwhile, i'll be watching random Kendo Kashin & Minoru Tanaka matches. Hell, if I can find the match they had together at Wrestling Dontaku 2001, I'll even watch that! Quote
NintendoLogic Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 If nothing else, Edge/Orton will prove instructive as to what the company thinks a great wrestling match looks like. It also ensures that this show will be remembered far more than a typical throwaway B-PPV. Like, off the top of your head, can you name a single thing that happened at Stomping Grounds? Quote
hammerva Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 It is strange how some of Christian's best promo work is for a match he isn't even involved in. Okay I will not allow any shitting on that Miz and Morrison HEY HEY song. At least something tonight will live up to PPV standards Quote
SmoothS Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 Later, I will cherry pick Asuka & Drew's matches. Their both awesome. I also pray for Asuka's safety as she is wrestling an opponent who is terrifying for all the wrong reasons, and hopefully Drew will make it a shorter Strong Style match will Lashley. Lashley should never be in a long match... never. Because if he is, than it is more powerful than Nyquil. Quote

SmoothS Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 I can't count how many times I lost my attention span during his matches over the years, same with his MMA fights, LOL. Even watching his match with John Cena that was uploaded to YouTube, I lost my attention span while he was working on top of Cena, SMH. Quote
hammerva Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 I don't know I thought Drew's matches against Lashley in TNA was really good. But yeah I can't think of a really good WWE Lashley match Quote
KawadaSmile Posted June 14, 2020 Author Report Posted June 14, 2020 His matches vs Roman were pretty good. Also, IIRC he had some bangers against Braun, as well. Quote
C.S. Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 MVP is awesome, but no matter who you pair Lashley with - Lio, Lana, etc. - it never works because Lashley never works. Quote
SmoothS Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 Roman Reigns & Bobby Lashley.. Good God.. 100% has Vince written all over it Quote
MoS Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 I know it's too early to say given Heyman was removed just a couple of days ago, but hopefully Crews retaining is a sign Vince won't get cold feet on him. I've been a fan since his Uhaa Nation days. Quote
FMKK Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 I feel like Lashley should be good if he's just kept in short power vs power matches. No need for him to ever go beyond like 12 minutes. If he and Drew did a cosplay Ishii match tonight, it could be good. Quote

SmoothS Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 That is exactly the type of match that Drew/Lashley should be. They can even mimic the Brock/Goldberg WM 33 match. Brock was finally able to get a great match out him him that way. Quote
cactus Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen a good Lashley match. The guy isn't awful, just incredibly dull. The only Lashley match that could interest me on paper is if he ever faces Lesnar. Quote
MoS Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 I know Raw was taped, but as far as Backlash goes, wasn't just Edge-Orton taped and everything else is live? They could easily have redone the taped Raw if Vince had decided to change the finish. Quote
SmoothS Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 No matter who the opponent is, if Brock is motivated, get your popcorn ready. Quote
