Jmare007 Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 Hobbs was very impressive working on top. Is Dan Lambert a known U.S personality? I have no clue who he is but was really impressed at the promo he cut. That was a lot of words and he didn't even slip once. Quote
KawadaSmile Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 Do you like Lambert's act, fellas? He speaks very well specially under pressure but is the content of what he just said relevant? Is him essentially calling your newest signees vanilla midgets a good thing when many new eyes are tuning in? Quote
MoS Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 He is he owner of MMA's biggest gym. He is not particularly well known outside of MMA circles, but he has always been a great performer, and they are basically using him as a Jim Cornette surrogate Quote
sek69 Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 I think Lambert's act is good, gives them an avatar for the fans to rally against. Like how Paul E used to use the specter of the WWF as the always looming unseen villian. Quote
sek69 Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 Also MJF not speaking any lies about Cincinnati. Quote
strobogo Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 His act doesn't make much sense since he keeps showing up to AEW shows and is given a mic and time on shows so Quote

I don't know if shitting on the promotion and all its wrestlers is good heat. Jim Cornette would never use the term vanilla midget for instance. And it makes no sense for him to shit on smaller guys, given his team's biggest star right now is Dustin Poirier, who is 5'9" and fights at 155 pounds. Quote
strobogo Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 Cincinnati (outside of about 3 blocks down town) and Ohio in general are absolutely dogshit. Skyline is heavy dogshit. River Front and Great American Ball Park are/were great places, though. Quote
KawadaSmile Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 Dunno what's louder, the crowd of Pillmann' mullet. Quote
Log Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 Damn, Pillman got a really nice pop there. Quote
MoS Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 One of the reasons some of MJF's nasty burns don't really land for me is because I have seen him on Twitter and he just doesn't seem witty enough to come with them on the fly. They seem therefore very rehearsed, in a promotion where most promos sound natural and authentic. It's an issue with me, I admit. Quote

Tenese Sarwieh Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 That segment was something, performed well but all the cheap heat was a bit much. Quote
KawadaSmile Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 forget about mjf's channer bullshit, here comes JAMIE HAYTER Quote

Timbo Slice Posted September 9, 2021 Author Report Posted September 9, 2021 Eh, MJF’s edge lord shtick gets cheap even for an edge lord sometimes and that was one time for sure.  Meanwhile, hats on, gents. Quote

funkdoc Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 i thought it was great because they made that kind of material work after having just recently gone through the whole Max Caster thing - would be very easy to just shy away from anything nearly that edgelord as a rule. Also, most importantly, it made Brian Jr. look like a top babyface Quote
MoS Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 Good solid match. Britt v. Soho is going to be great Quote
Jmare007 Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 Glad Hayter landed on her face in that botch instead of trying to go through with that reverserana. That looked like it could've been REALLY bad. Quote
KawadaSmile Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 Gimme a Statlander vs Hayter singles match. Big beefy women slapping beef! Quote
KawadaSmile Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 Starks just a few months older than me but already has that Vegeta hairline Quote
Blehschmidt Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 Hayter seems either awkward or overly stiff. Quote
