JRH
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10114693-video-wwe-reveals-wwe-speed-championship-for-new-show-with-3-minute-matches-on-x Sounds like a pretty interesting premise. Not all that thrilled about it being exclusively on X though (hopefully they put it on Peacock eventually).
Control21
Sounds like CMLL's lightning matches to an extent
SirEdger
Personally, I would've gone with a 5-minute time limit rather than 3. It sure would've gotten a better flow but let's see how it goes.
Timbo Slice
Vince Russo is BACK, baby.
Robert S
That name sounds like they are joining the drug game (or just "the game" ((c) The Wire), hmm... maybe it's an uncle Paul thing?). Though I am not sure if "WWE Speed" would work any better than IcoPro allegedly did (or rather didn't).
El-P
1 hour ago, Robert S said: That name sounds like they are joining the drug game Glad I'm not the only one who immediately thought of this. Making a special "show" just for fucking X in 2024 is the most WWE thing ever. Takes one to know one.
NintendoLogic
Wait a minute...did I just hear myself say three minutes? In all seriousness, three-minute matches seem pretty pointless. Owen Hart/123 Kid at KOTR 1994 is probably as short as a match can possibly be while still having some substance and it went 3:37.
Scarlet-Left
It would be funny if a heel wins it and then just uses delaying tactics to hold onto the belt through time limit draws, though I doubt that would hold the interest of people mindlessly scrawling through Twitter. Beyond that, I find it hard to imagine it will be entertaining. I can just watch three minute edited highlights from a match that actually means something if time is of the essence. Eh, at least with Vince gone, they'll be less likely to sabotage something if it does, miraculously, get over.
JRH
This must be for the people who think that current matches in WWE or for that matter AEW are too long.
Dav'oh
This disadvantages Larry Zbyszko. He doesn't enter the ring until the seven-minute mark. Greg Valentine's fucked, too. How's he meant to warm-up?
Al
They need a version of WWE Speed just for entrances and recap packages.
KawadaSmile
This is meant to appease the Xwitter accounts who focus on compiling matches into the 2:20 length. Plus is represents people who can't go longer than 3 minutes.
