NintendoLogic
In other news... https://x.com/WrestleOps/status/1907493851209539784 And on Rusev Day, no less. Not gonna lie, Gunther/Rusev will probably bang hard.
sek69
I figured he'd have already been back in by now, but I suppose he's going to be a day after Mania moment. I just hope whatever he had going on is better now, as it seemed he may have been having some personal issues.
El-P
He was last seen doing a job for Alberto el Rapist in Quatar. So really, fuck him. (fuck Jeff Jarrett for showing up in AAA and working with the guy too btw)
strobogo
These guys like Andrade/Miro/Black must think they're going to get a Cody situation instead of going back to WWE to the exact same booking and position they had before. But working twice as much and not being able to say no.

I hope Rusev can a get a good push and he takes full advantage of it before going to shit, as he tends to do
El-P
The fact WWE is now getting all the AEW malcontents, some of which were previously WWE malcontents, is pretty ironic indeed.
El-P
Since there was talk about it online, I watched the whole Charlotte / Tiffany promo segment. Holy shit, talk about awfully awkward stuff.
NintendoLogic
I do enjoy a good trainwreck, so that segment was right up my alley. It was amusing how Tiffany bailed right after dropping the 0-3 line like she was afraid Charlotte would beat her ass for real if she stuck around. I don't know if they worked themselves into a shoot or there was always animosity between the two, but I'm pretty sure they genuinely hate each other at this point. It also continues to be hilarious how Charlotte has no problem going off-script when it suits her but gets completely flustered any time someone flips the script on her. strobogo
Charlotte's real gimmick seems to be "worked herself into a shoot" as this is like the 5th time in 6 years something has gone way off the rails and then she does some real shady shit in the match and pouts when she's the one to lose. I'm definitely expecting at least one very reckless stiff spot and no selling, especially if Tiffany is the winner.
sek69
Meltzer kind of implied they had Wade Barrett be the moderator in that segment in case shit got real, as it seems that Tiffy was out there doing her damndedst trying to keep Charlotte from steamrolling her like in their last segment and Charlotte was getting flustered over it. She was on some talk show this past week complaining about how hard she has it because she got divorced again and how the fans wouldn’t let her tell her comeback story. She is definitely one of those people that doesn’t seem to realize how unlikeable she comes across.
sek69
Also it appears that folks don't want to be programmed with Charlotte since she has a tendency to steamroll everyone she's paired up with which was an interesting development. El-P
Parts of me wants Britt Baker to show up in WWE just to have a promo battle with Charlotte...
strobogo
Lol the trainwreck of dickheads that would be. This return of Charlotte is a real botch all around, starting with it doesn't seem like she's in a good state of mind, to straight back to Charlotte has to be in the title match after a year off, to whatever the fuck this program with Straton has been. It would probably be helpful for all involved for her to take time off after WM and come back later in the year with a different booking style for her that doesn't have her immediately in the title scene and doing exactly the same thing she's been doing since NXT. There's a redemption arc for her character somewhere to be done, but they're really risking perma X-Pac heat for her.
KawadaSmile
Has she ever been involved in a non-title program?

I honestly don’t think she has or at least if she wasn’t it wasn’t anything memorable. I enjoyed the back and forth but it also brings an issue to why face to face promos are a sorta stupid thing logically. In real life if you are face to face to someone and you just keep taking shots at each other it will blow up and won’t just end with people walking away for the most part. Tiffany actually looked good and the crowd ate it up. Flair went to weird mode and when she made fun of her voice that’s when I was checked out. My biggest peeve of the whole is thing is I view Flair in the same boat as The Bucks both are talented performers but what do you do with them exactly. The matches are all the same, the promos aren’t different. So what’s their value. You can’t let them go cause the other side will hire them. It’s just they tread water and make fat checks and accomplish nothing. Nobody gets over and they just waste space. I was enjoying the division without Flair but her name will give her a job for life, hall of fame induction and treated like the greatest ever.  I will say that ending segment with Punk/Seth/Roman/Heyman was amazing though and deserves to be talked about. That match didn’t have me sold till that segment. I actually love they told the story from 12 years ago with Heyman saying he would accompany Punk when he main events WM. To see long term storytelling on a WWE show is wild. Punk cashed in his favor and having Roman get pissed about it when Heyman basically refuses to tell Punk that’s not happening to having Seth just laugh in the background. That was really well executed and done. Kudos to whoever is writing that story cause they nailed it.

Jey cut something resembling an actually serious promo for once, and Gunther sold it pretty well, I thought. When it comes to Jey Uso promos, that's about as good as we're going to get. Speaking of last night, that Women's Intercontinental Championship match was pretty damn good. A couple of minor botches but overall I thought it was a great TV match. Way better than that Elimination Chamber qualifying match they had a while back.

I hated it because instead of trying to get revenge and attack the guy who brutalized him and his brother he just...cut a promo about how he was going to win for his family. And it didn't make sense to me for Gunther to sell it. He's gotten the better of Jey almost every single time.
sek69 Posted yesterday at 05:09 AM Author Report Share Posted yesterday at 05:09 AM Listening to the Observer Radio from over the weekend, and Dave pretty much states (in his typical Dave way) that Charlotte is in her feels about being programmed with someone who's the younger version of herself which is why she's been going out of her way to steamroll Tiffany at every turn. Also kind of implied that I might have been right and they had Wade Barrett out there in case shit went down. This match has the potential to be a legendary mess at Mania if one or the other decides not to play ball.
El-P Posted yesterday at 08:20 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 08:20 AM So, they actually had that racist "comedian" doing guest announcing. It's amazing how the MAGA-ization of WWE is already totally normalized.
The Thread Killer Posted yesterday at 04:12 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 04:12 PM So apparently Ric Flair (after previously saying he would be there) is now saying he will not be appearing at Wrestlemania in any capacity…because he’s still technically under contract with AEW?! C.S.
I'm guessing I'm the only one, but is anyone else watching WWE EVOLVE? It's on Tubi (U.S.) or YouTube (internationally). Fun little sprint of a show at only 50 minutes or so. Reminds me of a modern day version of Superstars or Wrestling Challenge. There are a lot of cool little things no other WWE show is doing. Peter Rosenberg and Robert Stone are a surprisingly fun commentary team. Mauro would make it even better, but that goes without saying. I keep meaning to check it out, but I keep forgetting. Wednesday is Survivor night, dammit. And if FTR is going to be feuding with Adam Copeland & Christian Cage, I may have to start watching Dynamite again. But there’s nothing stopping me from checking it out after the fact, I guess. And it does have one huge positive going for it…no Booker T on commentary.
