  1. Garcia vs. Yuta? AGAIN? Seriously?
  2. That as may be, but I will say that based on my recollection, that match Hogan had with Abdullah in New Japan in May 82 was probably one of the best matches I remember either guy having in their entire lengthy careers. As far as bloody big guy brawls go. I certainly enjoyed it more than 99% of the crap Hogan did in the WWF during the 80’s.
  3. See, SirEdger? Typical Americans assuming everybody thinks just like they and do what they do. BRET HART WAS RIGHT ABOUT YOU PEOPLE IN 1997. Now excuse me while I go watch Football. And in all seriousness, Happy (American) Thanksgiving to all my American Good Brothers at PWO.
  4. Um, Thanksgiving is the second Monday in October.
  5. I’m pretty sure if I die and go to hell, my punishment will be sitting in a room, forced to watch Kenny and The Young Bucks fighting Death Triangle for all eternity. We will know for sure if this Best of 7 Series is real, or if I actually am in hell very soon. If Mauro Ranallo calls the matches while Nickelback blasts over the sound system, it will be official and you will all be guests in my own personal hell.
  6. Sincere congratulations to you.
  7. I see what you are saying, and you’re not totally wrong. To me, the issue isn’t so much that García is lousy, it’s that AEW have so much talent under contract that are so much better than Garcia is, but he gets so much TV time and so much creative energy has been put into pushing him and Yuta. I think both Garcia and Yuta are perfectly acceptable midcard talent and maybe they even have the potential to go even higher up…but I could name at least half a dozen guys who are noticeably better than them, who either haven’t been pushed or have fallen victim to Tony Khan’s ADD “Now You See Him…Now You Don’t” booking. Back when NXT was functioning at a creative, interesting and exciting level I used to almost hesitate to get behind a talent, because I was worried that if I got invested in them, they would just get called up to the main roster, and would be ruined, changed, not used properly, or not used at all. Sometimes I get a similar fear when I watch AEW. Even when I get into a particular character or potential storyline, I am always waiting for the other shoe to drop, or for the person to disappear off TV for no reason for weeks at a time.
  8. Don’t say his name out loud. If you say it three times, he shows up on TV nonstop for another six months.
  9. I have found the build for this PPV to be lacking. I am more interested in the Kingston/Ortiz vs. Akiyama/Takeshita match on Rampage on Friday than I am about anything on this PPV. Between the never ending JAS/BCC feud, the Luchasaurus/Jungle Boy Cage Match that nobody I know has any interest in seeing, and NO FTR…screw this. I am not paying for this.
  10. PWInsider is now confirming reports that the plans for the Men’s War Games match at Survivor Series is The Bloodline (Roman, The Usos, Solo and Sami) vs. The Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Butch, and Ridge) and Drew McIntyre and Kevin Owens. I am all over that in a big way, that would kick ass…even if it is a WWE No Blood Allowed War Games. And if KO can’t do it because of his knee…they should put Gunther in there. Give me Roman vs. Gunther all day.
  11. It has become pretty obvious that Dave Lagana was the real brains behind the NWA. The one-two punch combo of the pandemic and Lagana being outed as a sex pest, pretty much killed this promotion dead. I loved the concept and execution early on…but now I wouldn’t watch this crap if you paid me. How anybody could possibly think that putting the NWA World Title on Tyrus is a good idea is just…beyond me. It boggles the mind. Losing Aldis isn’t going to help them any, but it’s pretty clear the problems run much, much deeper than that.
  12. Conrad has basically been running Foley through his Attitude Era Greatest Hits for topics the past few weeks…but this week they are finally covering the infamous 1995 IWA King of the Death Match tournament, so I’m looking forward to this.
  13. Road Dogg and Casio Kid are the “I never could have even had a nightmare about something this bad being possible” combination of the two most indescribably obnoxious personalities in the history of Pro Wrestling.
  14. It reminds me of that (underrated) movie The Distinguished Gentleman where a congressman dies of a heart attack and a con man who has the same legal name runs for the seat using the campaign slogan “The Name You Know” and he actually gets elected, because most of the voters don’t know the original guy died.
  15. I never played the Japanese version of that game and now I want to.
  16. I noticed that you dodged a bullet there. It seems the electorate is willing to overlook a physical disability when electing someone to office. Aside from John Fetteman, your state showed they are even MORE open minded in matters like this, by reelecting Anthony DeLuca, who managed to overcome the one physical ailment which I would’ve thought was insurmountable…what with him being dead, and everything.
  17. From the “I had no idea they had heat” department… Last night on Twitter, Ric Flair took some shots at JBL. He basically implied that JBL did not belong in the WWE HOF because he was a bully. For those of you keeping track at home, I guess that means: Bullying = Unacceptable Sexually harassing/assaulting women = Perfectly fine, boys will be boys, don’t be ridiculous. Seriously though, Ric Flair of all people trying to take the moral high ground on any person regarding any issue is hysterical.
  18. I freaking loved the hell out of that game back when it came out. I used to love fighting that big Giant Machine rip-off on the final level, you could only knock him down with certain flying moves like a knee smash. Good times.
  19. No, I have never seen those shows. I saw him wrestle a bunch of times back in the day, but I never had the pleasure of hearing him on commentary. I know he was pretty much the king of the Boston Garden prelims. What was he like on commentary?
  20. They’ve been hyping on TV for a while now, brother. Personally, I don’t care. The last Pro Wrestling video game I bought was this one on the NES… I assume these newer games are similar?
  21. You don’t mean… The Duke of Dorchester himself is coming back?!
  22. It’s not a matter of quality. It’s more the fact that they pay the talent peanuts and practically nobody watches it. I’m sure it is creatively fulfilling to work there, but that don’t pay the bills. If I was a pro wrestler looking for work and had a family to provide for, I can’t imagine Impact would be the first place I would call. And Aldis has young children to feed. If I had no financial constraints and just wanted to be creatively satisfied and work in a positive atmosphere, that is a different story, obviously. Mind you, I seem to remember hearing Aldis also had heat with Scott D’Amore, come to mention it. I get the impression Aldis is a difficult person to work with. This guy has gone on Twitter and done interviews burying the company he works for over the last few months, I can’t imagine that will endure him to perspective future employers much.
  23. Aldis has claimed for years that Tony Khan told him there will always be a spot for him in AEW if he wants. And I certainly hope that Khan does sign him, because the AEW roster is getting dangerously thin. They don’t have nearly enough talent under contract right now. Realistically, I would expect him to show up in either Impact or MLW. Also known as “places you go when nobody else wants to hire you but you have no other viable options.”
