This is why I didn't mind the Bragging Rights finish. I was far more frustrated in the first GSP/Matt Hughes fight in the UFC where GSP tapped out with 1 second left in the round. I actually thought that match was AMAZING the first time I saw it and it was my match of the year that year. I really didn't think they could pull off an Iron Man match but it blew me away.

Nothing compares to the Texas crowds I've seen during the prime of the Von Erich brothers. I've seen crowds that I could have almost believed were majority female, or at least 50/50.

I always liked the brand split. It kept the crap on Raw and usually Smackdown was allowed to be a good show.

It would be interesting to see them go for a different "hand-picked" face of the WWE that isn't Orton. Or HHH. I'm not sure who it could be though. Unless maybe they talk Batista into coming back for a run. Which would be totally ok with me as long as he keeps the spotlight entrance and acts like he did during his last run as a heel.
-
That would be fun, but is there any reason to turn Lesnar face? I figure they would end up going the other way with it and have Heyman turn on Ryback in the end.

I want Brock Lesnar getting jealous of Paul Heyman's new infatuation with Ryback to lead to Lesnar vs. Ryback.

Dave Meltzer a month ago: That is a cynical view. The WWE had to get rid of Jeff Hardy and Kurt Angle when they had to and they were more popular than Orton is. Granted I don't think Orton is into the same kind of stuff they were, so this is certainly possible. They never got rid of Jeff, they pretty much begged him not to leave the last time around. Kurt they got rid of because they thought he was a walking time bomb and I seem to remember him having some epic meltdown in Vince's office that got him an immediate release, that he later tried to play off as him working McMahon to get his release.

Bully Ryback with Paul Heyman is almost too good to be true.

This whole thing sounds really stupid to me. Like, let's take our already small audience and whittle it down to just the people who care enough to follow us through months of cryptic bullshit until we start back up again.

Amazing pic. I do miss heel Don West though, I actually think replacing him with Tazz is TNA's biggest mistake, and that's saying a lot.

"Eventually..." Which isn't really a plan with anything concrete. I'm still buying dvd's for a pair of lengthy viewing & write up projects, and still organizing and eyeballing more to get. But that's about as much as I'm doing on the watching front. My college football was 9 AM - 10:30 PM on Saturday, add in 6+ hours of Sunday NFL (and I was being lazy there), 3+ hours of Monday Night Football (was lazy there when I should have grabbed the Eagles game), and 3+ hours of NFL tonight. That's 13.5 hours of college football and 12+ hours of the NFL. That's not even getting into 6+ hours of international futbol games I watched... well... probably more than that since the stuff taped on last Friday didn't get watched until the weekend and Monday. I've probably watched 40+ hours of sports from Sat-Thur (including tonight), and that's not getting into stupid stuff like watching post-game analysis on ESPN, the NFL Network, etc. Not a lot of fast forward there either. You need to get whatever NFL package you can that has condensed game versions. I have the NFL GameRewind through the computer for only $40 for the season and they post condensed versions of the games that are just the plays. Usually you can watch a whole game in about 30 minutes. Every 2 out 3 Saturdays I work at night, so this lets me sleep all day Sunday and then as soon as Sunday Night Football is over I can watch every game.

They did hire Eaton as a trainer for what I think was still OVW at the time, but it was short lived because he apparently couldn't really teach it to someone else. Barry also had a very short run as a road agent. Not sure why Ricky Morton has never had a chance as a trainer or anything. They hired Dennis Condrey as a trainer in 2010 but I don't know if he's still there.

My definition of Go-Go style would be the "hurry up and stop selling so we can get to our next spot" mentality. Kurt Angle is a prime example of this, since he even got into a backstage argument with Eddie Guerrero about Eddie selling for too long.

I forgot about how Cubeta used to try to rope every guest into saying NWA should have had a different champ than Flair after WWF had Hogan because Hogan was winning his match every night and Flair was losing or barely squeaking by.

This actually just made me remember Ox Baker's interview where he talks about Bob Brown. He says he really just kept to himself in the locker room and didn't talk to people, but Ox says he talked to everyone. Supposedly Bob Brown asked him one day "Why do you like people so much?"

Is it Fine for Someone to Develop an Opinion by Just Reading Results?
goc replied to Exposer's topic in Pro Wrestling
I think it's ok to talk about booking decisions for something you've only read results for, even though you have to accept that your opinion counts less than people who actually watched the show. It IS pretty asinine however to argue match quality of matches you only read results of. -
http://www.wwe.com/videos/wwe-coo-triple-h...ar-fir-26146347 Hunter is pretty fabulous here I found this to be very enjoyable. Watch it.

I remember somewhere reading about Backlund picking Hogan up over his head in a match they had with Hogan's dad in the crowd, who couldn't believe it. I wish that was on tape somewhere.

I remember watching this episode of Thunder after people kept pimping Positively Kanyon. I thought Mike Sanders debut was really cool too, stealing Jarrett's guitar and using it to get the win. Then Jarrett kicks his ass backstage afterwards. That was actually a pretty fun episode of Thunder from what I recall.

I didn't want to clutter the Cena/Tanahashi thread with this post, but Eric really hammered on my main problem with Edge as a main eventer in his post: he had possibly the worst offense in WWE at the time. He's in there defending or challenging for a title against these big iconic characters like Batista, Kane, Cena, Undertaker. I'm supposed to buy his nearfalls off of a running hug or whatever weak offense he'd hit before a nearfall? It's why his character got so played out because they had to keep finding more and more elaborate ways for him to win. There's no comparison between the Batista Bomb, Chokeslam, Tombstone and even the FU/AA over anything Edge was doing. If the guy had even ONE decent looking offensive move I could buy putting away those guys I wouldn't have been so down on his whole main event run.

12 year old friend meant "your friend of 12 years."

Ted Dibiase Jr. has announced he won't be re-signing with WWE. He's one of the second generation guys along with Cody Rhodes and Curtis Axel that I've seen certain pockets of the internet claim were "mis-used" and "deserved a better push" but never really seen anything out of them to deserve the rep. Pretty much I think if the guy had a different last name he'd have been gone a long time ago.

Read some news item today that WWE is planning to turn Ryback babyface again soon after he "done" with his bullying skits. Is there anyone they've wanted to make a star but booked worse than Ryback in the last few years? Guy was getting over as a babyface and then they have him lose a bunch of matches and he cools off, then he turns heel on Cena, loses some more and stumbles into a great bully character so I guess it's time to flip him back babyface to kill that momentum.
