  1. I don't really see how it's any worse than the Mania deal that most people seemed to love. In fact it's better because they at least had a real finish to the main event.
  2. No everything I've read says Reigns was going to win the title at Survivor Series so this was probably all going to happen anyway. Rollins loses and HHH gets off the Rollins bandwagon and switches to Sheamus so they could set up HHH vs. Rollins.
  3. I don't think this Sheamus title reign lasts very long, no way they run with Sheamus as the champ for Mania. I'm guessing Reigns/Brock wins it at TLC or Rumble and whichever one of those guys doesn't take the belt off Sheamus wins the Rumble to set up Reigns/Brock II.
  4. I wonder if Roman turning tonight would be the first time a heel turn gets a This is Awesome! chant. I think I'll blow my brains out if it does. Stay tuned for the live tweet.
  5. I didn't know you guys hated jokes.
  6. You're forgetting about Tony Atlas. Tony Atlas would have been excused in that situation, the man was homeless and he could have used the money pawning that necklace. Would have been harder to convince the guy at the pawn shop that the urn could control an undead wrestling zombie.
  7. Since we're looking back at The Undertaker's career, is Kama melting down the urn to turn it into a necklace the most racist thing WWE ever did? Just because he's black he'd rather have a necklace than the power to control wrestling's only undead zombie??
  8. Tweet of the night right here:
  9. Shot through the heart and you're to blame Bruce Tharpe, I was so ready to type Bock/Reed. Since that's not an option now I'm gonna vote for the midget tag match with Reed vs. Wrestling II as a close 2nd. Any time you give me a chance to see Cowboy Lang vs. Little Tokyo I'm gonna take it.
  10. You take that back! Karate Fighters being a sponsor gave us the Karate Fighters tournament.
  11. Probably get the biggest pop of the night for some dumb reason. "Uhh I fucking hate Roman Reigns he sucks and only does 2 moves...he's a heel YAYYYY I LOVE ROMAN REIGNS!"
  12. What's more interesting to me is that Titus made it into the Survivor Series match but Darren Young didn't. Is he injured?
  13. Is there ever a pre-show match that people don't bitch about? All the people who are gonna watch Survivor Series itself are watching the pre-show. It's like people think the pre-show match should be Duane Gill vs. Barry Hardy or something.
  14. I have still not forgiven you for me telling me that you don't like World Class BECAUSE of it's fans. I mean that's really the best part of watching World Class, the fans are hotter than pretty much any wrestling I've ever seen which helps to supplement the fact that, imo, the matches in World Class don't measure up to Mid-South, JCP, Memphis, etc where we also have a lot of footage. I think we need a GO HOME MATT D chant to the tune of "go home freebirds"

    John Cena

And really, Cena had the perfect set up to use those new moves to end a match. He was wrestling guys way beneath him on the totem pole in the Open Challenge period and it wouldn't have looked at all out of place for Stardust or Zach Ryder to lose to the Springboard Stunner or the Code Red and then they would have meant a lot more when he busted them out in a big match later on.

    Arn Anderson

Southeastern wasn't a big TV match territory until it became Continental and there's really no arena footage of the area so it's hard to tell. Plus I haven't seen a whole lot of that time period because I'm still in 1981 in my watching and a lot of that 1984 period has huge gaps anyway. Mostly just seen some youtube stuff and as a promo he was already really good or at least became really good over time because by the time he's lost the Super Olympia mask and is Arn Anderson, he's able to stand there with Ron Fuller & Jimmy Golden and not seem out of place cutting promos with them.
  17. Would more selling from the Von Erichs have made us internet geeks look back more fondly on their matches 15-20 years later? Most likely. Would it have made the fans at the time enjoy them more? I'm not sure that's really the case. The fans wanted to see the Von Erichs kick ass. With the territory doing as good as it was during the peak and as insanely hot as those crowds were, who can say that they weren't doing the right thing? It's not like it kept people from buying tickets to see Von Erichs vs. Freebirds matches because that feud went on well over a year and still sold tickets. There are a lot of reasons you can point to for why World Class fell apart but I don't really think "Kevin didn't like selling" is one of them. And I say that as a guy who thinks Kevin is easily the worst of the bunch and I've never seen another wrestler who seemed to be so adverse to showing any kind of vulnerability. But I'm also a firm believer in the saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it" and it clearly worked for him, at least for a time.

    Arn Anderson

Is late 1983-January 1997 really all that short of a career? In September 1983 he was done with TV jobber duty and was part of Ron Fuller's Stud Stable as Super Olympia feuding with Mr. Olympia (Jerry Stubbs) in a feud that was probably the #2 feud in the company after the Armstrongs/Midnight Express feud. He worked all of 1984 in Southeastern and got a pretty good push throughout and then showed up in JCP in early 1985 and pretty quickly established himself as an important player there.
  21. This shares a lot of similarities with the Cap Centre match, with the transitions being the same (Slaughter bump over the top rope to set up Sheik's offense, Sheik missing a top rope move to set up Slaughter's comeback) and the finish being the same also but this one is definitely the better match. One, it has a much hotter crowd and it has a crazy blade job from Slaughter plus they do more stuff to set up why Slaughter would want to take off Iron Sheik's boot which felt missing from the match 2 days before at the Capital Centre. Also another really bad ass gutwrench suplex Iron Sheik. The only thing the Cap Centre match has over this one is the really nasty looking chairshot and that's probably for the best. So yea if you have seen this one and not the match from the Capital Centre you're not really missing out although it's a nice companion piece if you really loved the feud overall as you can see how these guys worked a really solid match for the smaller market and then turned it up for MSG.
  22. Taped at The Junction in San Antonio, TX on 11/14 Southwest Championship Wrestling airing on Saturday 11/19 in local markets -Show intro- Steve Stack: Welcome to another edition of Southwest Championship Wrestling, the most exciting hour in all of professional wrestling! We've got another action packed in store for you this week like we do every week but before we get to any action I'd like to run down some of the events from last Sunday night at the HemisFair Arena. We saw Mr. Saito & Yoshi Seito defeat the team of Ken Lucas and Eddie Gilbert which means this Sunday night, Saito & Seito will get a Southwest Tag Team Title shot against the champions, The Fabulous Ones. In other action we saw Jim Duggan defeat Tully Blanchard but not become the Southwest Heavyweight Champion as it was only by disqualification as Tully threw powder into Duggan's eyes the very moment that the bell rang to start the match. This has caused AWA President Stanley Blackburn to order a rematch where Tully will LOSE the Southwest Heavyweight Title if he is disqualified again. We also saw Roy Lee Welch get a measure of revenge against his family when he made Jimmy Golden submit to the Spinning Toe Hold and apparently he's sent Jimmy Golden, Ron & Robert Fuller all back to Alabama as they haven't been seen here in the area since Sunday night and aren't scheduled here on today's program. And in the non-sanctioned Lights Out match we saw an incredibly brutal, bloody brawl between Ron Starr and Abdullah the Butcher end without a clear winner but with the Butcher being the one who retreated from the fight which has sent Ron Starr chasing the globe after him! Ron Starr heard that Abdullah the Butcher was scheduled for some matches this week in Puerto Rico and last we heard he booked his own flight down to Puerto Rico to chase after the big mad man from the Sudan so we don't know when he'll be back in the area. Now for today's program we've got the Southwest Tag Team Champions, The Fabulous Ones in action, we'll be seeing the debut of a man from Hollywood, California by the name of Goldie Rogers and we'll also see a rematch for the Southwest Television Title between Mike Masters and the champion, Roy Lee Welch plus we'll be hearing from 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan, Tully Blanchard and more so don't go away, you won't want to miss a minute of it! -First commercial break- Steve Stack: We're back on Southwest Championship Wrestling and with me now are the Southwest Tag Team Champions, Stan Lane and Steve Keirn: The Fabulous Ones! First of all let me congratulate you on your victory in the six man tag match from last Sunday night and on helping to run The Fullers and Jimmy Golden out of the area. Steve Keirn: We're happy to see them gone from Texas but we may run into them again real soon because we've not had any luck getting a match signed with The Heavenly Bodies coming here to the Southwest area to defend the National Tag Team Titles so we might have to take another trip to Alabama real soon to get those belts back. Steve Stack: I know you guys are focused on getting those National Tag Team Titles back from The Heavenly Bodies and also on getting a match with the AWA World Tag Team Champions, The Road Warriors, but you've got a very formidable team in front of you this Sunday night at The HemisFair Arena as you're set to face off against the Japanese team of Mr. Saito and Yoshi Seito. Stan Lane: We've had a few run ins with those two in the past but this is the first time we'll be facing them in a straight up tag team match but we're confident we can get the job done. We know they've got a talent for sneaking out a win, just like we saw them do on TV here last week, but we're going to be ready for any tricks they try to pull and we're confident we're going to come out with our title belts still intact. Steve Stack: Well before you guys go down to the ring for your non title match today I'd like to ask you about a team that's headed back to the area now as The Assassins are scheduled for action this Sunday night at The HemisFair Arena. The last time we saw The Assassins was almost 3 months ago and they promised a day of reckoning when they returned to the area. Are you at all concerned about them coming back to Southwest Championship Wrestling? Steve Keirn: What is there to be concerned about Steve Stack? We beat The Assassins the last time they were here and if they earn themselves a title shot we'll beat them again this time. Sure they are a tough team but they're not The Fabs and if we have to fight them again we'll be happy to prove it to them. -The Fabulous Ones head down to the ring for their non-title match against The Canadian and Mike Fever Steve Stack: I have a feeling they're going to have the chance to do just that because I know The Assassins are going to be looking to take those Southwest Tag Team Titles upon their return. But now let's head down to the ring for our first match of the day as The Fabulous Ones take on The Canadian and Mike Fever in a non-title match! Steve Keirn tried to come in and help his partner when suddenly a large man in a hat and sunglasses came from out of the crowd and pulled Keirn out of the ring by his legs and then slammed him shoulder first into the ring post! The large man turned his back to the camera to shield his face while he took off the hat and sunglasses and donned a mask...the yellow mask of The Assassin! He ran into the ring and helped The Canadian just as Stan Lane started to fight back. The Assassin held Stan Lane from behind with The Canadian loaded up his boot and then blasted Stan Lane with a big loaded boot to the face. The Canadian then took off his red & white mask to reveal a yellow mask underneath! Steven Keirn tried to come back into the ring and fight them off of Stan Lane but his shoulder was hurt and he was only fighting with one arm so he was quickly neutralized and then Assassin #1 held him down by his legs while Assassin #2 kicked and stomped on his injured shoulder with the loaded boot. Finally Ken Lucas, Eddie Gilbert, Mike Jackson, Tony Torres and Jim Duggan ran out to the ring and chased off The Assassins to end their attack. Steve Stack: I can't believe what we just saw! The Assassin must have bought a ticket and hid in the crowd as a normal fan and no one would be able to recognize him at all because he's never been seen without his mask on! We couldn't even get a good look at his face with that hat and the sunglasses we still don't know what he looks like. And now that I think about it, The Canadian must have been Assassin #2 this whole time, they wrestle almost the exact same style and The Canadian only reappeared in the area after The Assassin said he was heading to Alabama to collect a bounty. Fans we've got to take a break, we're going to try and get some help out here for Steve Keirn during the break...we'll be back don't go away! -Second commercial break- Steve Stack: We're back on Southwest Championship Wrestling and with me now is the man who was just responsible for that vicious attack on The Fabulous Ones, The Assassin. Assassin, what in the world was that!? The Assassin: That was what I promised before I left here 3 months ago. I back up every word that ever comes out of my mouth. I promised that I was going to come back and enact my retribution for all the injustices I suffered when I arrived here in Texas. And today was the beginning. But just the beginning Steve Stack. Beating up the Fabulous Ones and embarrassing them on TV is not nearly enough, my partner and I WILL take those Southwest Tag Team Titles away from them and if we don't run them out of professional wrestling all together we will run them out of Southwest Championship Wrestling that is a PROMISE. -The Assassin leaves the interview area and Mr. Saito and Yoshi Seito come in laughing Steve Stack: Well obviously you're in a good mood today Mr. Saito, I guess you think what just happened to The Fabulous Ones is funny? Mr. Saito: Of course it funny Steve Stack! You see Steve Keirn crying and holding on his shoulder? Assassin talk about taking the titles from The Fabulous Ones but he don't have time. This Sunday Saito and Seito take the belt from the pretty boy. Steve Stack: Don't count out The Fabulous Ones, Steve Keirn may have injured his shoulder but we've seen The Fabulous Ones fight through the odds before and win when no one expected them to. Mr. Saito: They don't scare me Steve Stack! They don't have Sunshine purse to hit me with what can they do to beat the number 1 wrestler in all the world? Mr. Saito number 1 in wrestling, number 1 in judo, number 1 in karate and after Sunday I be the new Southwest Tag Team Champion too hahaha. -Mr. Saito and Yoshi Seito leave the interview area and El Gran Apollo comes in Steve Stack: El Gran Apollo it's good to see you back this week after you were held out of action last week due to the attack by The Cuban Assassin and the amount of blood you lost during the match with Tully Blanchard. How are you feeling this week? Apollo: I feel good Steve Stack but I'm not happy. I heard they don't let Cuban Assassin wrestle here and I want to fight him. I want make him pay for what he did to me. Yo quiero luchar con el Cuban Assassin y no me importa si no el pagar los multas. Dame una lucha con el Cuban Assassin con el para que yo pueda tener mi venganza. -El Gran Apollo leaves the interview area Steve Stack: Well I don't know everything that he just said but I'm pretty sure he just said he wants Stanley Blackburn to give him a match with The Cuban Assassin. I don't think that is going to happen until Jose Lothario pays that $2500 fine however. Jose was out here last week crying he doesn't have the money to pay it, maybe my next guest could pay it for him as he's come into a lot of money lately after taking a briefcase full of Sheik Adnan's money, let me bring in now 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan! -'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan comes into the interview area Duggan: You know I don't think that's going to happen Steve Stack, I'd rather not help out a guy like Jose Lothario with that money. Steve Stack: I had a feeling you might say that. Jokes aside, I know you've been in a bad mood all week due to what happened in your match, if you could call it that, with Tully Blanchard last Sunday night at The HemisFair Arena. But you've got to at least feel a little bit better about it now that Stanley Blackburn has given you a rematch and this time if Tully is disqualified he will lose the Southwest Heavyweight Title. Duggan: It does but I still feel bad for all my fans who came out last week to see me beat Tully Blanchard only to have him throw powder in my eyes the moment the bell ring so he could get disqualified and run away. But this week, I'm gonna make it up to all of them because with Tully not being able to get himself disqualified to keep his belt he's going to have to actually fight me. And I know there isn't anyone in the world, including Tully Blanchard himself, who thinks that Tully can beat me in a fight. So Tully, you shine that belt up real nice and enjoy the extra week you managed to get with it because this Sunday night it's going to be MINE! -Duggan leaves the interview area Steve Stack: I know Tully has got to be fuming about that stipulation and we'll find out as we talk to him later in the hour. But right now we've got to take another commercial break but don't go away because when we come back we're going to be talking to the newest arrival in Southwest Championship Wrestling, a man by the name of Goldie Rogers from Hollywood, California and we'll also see him in action when he takes on Jimmy Doo so don't go away! -Third commercial break- Steve Stack: Welcome back to Southwest Championship Wrestling! Standing with me now is Goldie Rogers who has made his way here from Hollywood, California. Goldie, welcome to Southwest Championship Wrestling. Goldie Rogers: Listen up Jack! I heard this area had a lot of women coming out to the matches to see some duds like The Fabulous Ones and that guy who couldn't even speak English out here earlier, El Gran Apollo so I thought I'd come down here to Texas and give them a stud. I'm the king of Hollywood, I walk down the street and I stop traffic with girls stopping in the middle of the road just to try and get a glimpse of the most handsome man in professional wrestling. Steve Stack: That sounds a bit far fetched to me. Goldie Rogers: What do you know about girls anyway all your romantic encounters have probably been through financial transaction! You just wait and see Jack, I'm gonna have so many women buying tickets to see me wrestle soon you won't even see a man in the audience in this area anymore. Steve Stack: Well I guess we'll find out just how popular you are considering you're facing El Gran Apollo this week at the HemisFair Arena a man who has been known to have quite a few screaming female fans in the audience. Goldie Rogers: What are those women going to do with a guy like that? He can't even speak English how is he gonna tell them what he wants them to get up and cook him for breakfast in the morning? I'm gonna wipe the mat with that guy and by the time I get out of the ring with him the women in this area will be calling him El Huh? because he'll be totally forgotten. Steve Stack: That would be quite a feat Mr. Rogers I think now it's best if you head on down to the ring for your match against Jimmy Doo. Goldie Rogers: More like Jimmy Who? that guy isn't even close to being in my league. -Goldie Rogers leaves the interview area and heads down to the ring Steve Stack: Well fans he certainly doesn't lack for confidence that's for sure I guess we're about to find out if he can back that up or not as he's set to take on Jimmy Doo. Steve Stack: It seems like there might actually be enough ability to back up all the things Goldie Rogers just said out here earlier but he'll have a much bigger test than Jimmy Doo this Sunday night at the HemisFair Arena in the form of El Gran Apollo. We've got to take another time out for our sponsors and when we come back we've got a video update on the condition of David Von Erich and we'll also be taking to the Southwest Heavyweight Champion Tully Blanchard about his match with Jim Duggan this Sunday night so don't go away! -Fourth commercial break- Steve Stack: Well Tully you just heard what David Von Erich had to say, what do you think about that video? Tully Blanchard: I think it's nothing but a fantasy from a man with scrambled brains! He wasn't in my league when he was fully healthy, I'm the one who carried our team on my back the whole time so how is he supposed to do anything to me now that he's been permanently damaged? Let him try and come after me and I'll have him carried out on a stretcher again and slap that ugly floozy around when I'm done! Steve Stack: That's enough! It's disgusting enough what you already did to Sunshine I'm not going to have you out here on this show talking about slapping around a woman. Tully Blanchard: You're really stretching the definition of that word to call Sunshine a woman. But I forgot Steve Stack you always did have a big thing for Sunshine, I saw how you drooled over her every time she was out here. Steve Stack: I think we've talked enough about Sunshine. Let's talk about your match this Sunday night when you have to defend your Southwest Heavyweight Title against Jim Duggan and this time if you're disqualified you will LOSE the Southwest Heavyweight Title. Tully Blanchard: I didn't think it would be possible for anyone to ever make me miss Lou Thesz but now Stanley Blackburn has done it. What kind of stipulation is that? I'm the greatest Southwest Heavyweight Champion there has ever been and ever will be, how can he say that if I get disqualified I'll lose my title? Steve Stack: I don't know Tully, maybe it has something to do with you being disqualified in two out of your last three title defenses. Tully Blanchard: Don't get smart with me Steve Stack. I'm getting real tired of having to tell you that every week, one of these days I'm gonna shut your mouth for you if you can't shut it yourself. Jim Duggan didn't deserve a title shot against me! How did he earn that title shot? By losing to The Zambuie Express? He never even beat them, he and Ron Starr attacked them with a briefcase and ran them out of the ring! That's the kind of man that gets rewarded with a title shot around here? I should be facing REAL competition not some loser like him. That's why I threw the powder in his face last week because he didn't have any business being in the ring with me and I wasn't going to stoop to the level of fighting unworthy competition like I had to do all the time that Lou Thesz was here forcing me to wrestle losers like Scott Casey and Bob Sweetan. But the good thing is Steve Stack, what you HAVEN'T mentioned is that when I win Jim Duggan won't get anymore Southwest Heavyweight Title match while I'm the champion. Which will be until I retire by the way. Steve Stack: So you throwing the powder had nothing to do with you being afraid to fight Jim Duggan then? Tully: Didn't I just tell you not to get smart with me Steve Stack? I'm going to end this interview right now before I wind up getting myself fined by slapping you around. -Tully leaves the interview area Steve Stack: Tully might be able to run from my questions but he won't be getting away from Jim Duggan so easily this Sunday night. Now before we have to take our last commercial break of the day, let me bring out a man who has been making a lot of waves since his arrival to the area, the undefeated Man Mountain Link and his brother Tiny Anderson. Steve Stack: Link this Sunday night you and your brother will be teaming up again to face the team of Yin & Yang but I know this isn't the match you have been trying to get over the past couple of weeks. Man Mountain Link: That's true Steve, I've been trying to get a rematch with Mike Masters ever since he ran away from me at the HemisFair Arena 3 weeks ago but his manager Jim Holliday has done a great job in making sure that hasn't happened. But he can't run forever eventually he is going to have to get in the ring with me again and when he does I am going to make him pay for everything he did to my brother. Until that happens then Tiny and I will just keep teaming up together so we can prove to everyone including Mike Masters that my brother can be and IS a winner in this sport. Steve Stack: I have to say you two had a very impressive victory over Bruiser Costa and Terry Adonis last Sunday even if it seemed you were the one who was more responsible for that win than Tiny. Link: Don't sell my brother short Steve Stack! He took a beating in that match it's true but he didn't go down and he got his hand raised at the end of the match. That's all that matters. And he and I are going to do it again this Sunday against Yin & Yang. I've seen them in action the past two weeks it seems like they can barely even get along these days while me and Tiny are brothers, we've got an unbreakable bond and we're not going to be arguing and fighting with each other like they've been. Steve Stack: It is true that Yin & Yang have had quite a few problems with each other recently as they have clashed over their very different philosophies on how to approach a wrestling match. Link, we're out of time for this interview I wish you good luck on your quest to get that rematch against Mike Masters. Link: Thank you Steve I know that sooner rather than later he's going to have to step into the ring with me and then I'm going to squash him like the annoying bug that he is. -Link and Tiny Anderson leave the interview area Steve Stack: Fans we've got to take our last commercial break of the day but don't go away because when we come back we are going to have our main event Southwest Television Title match as Roy Lee Welch defends the belt against Mike Masters, you won't want to miss it! -Fifth and final commercial break- Steve Stack: We're back on Southwest Championship Wrestling and before we get to our main event I wanted to get a quick word from the challenger, Mike Masters and his manager 'Gentleman' Jim Holliday. Last week we saw your match with Roy Lee Welch get interrupted by The Fullers which caused you to lose by disqualification and after the match it almost looked like you were ready to get in the ring and fight with the Fullers and Jimmy Golden. What stopped you? Holliday: I prevailed upon Mike Masters that it makes no sense to fight other people's battles and despite costing us the opportunity last week to take the Southwest TV Title, we would certainly be granted a rematch which has proved correct. There is no need to make enemies out of those who can become your allies. Steve Stack: Speaking of enemies, Man Mountain Link is adamant about getting a rematch with Mike Masters but it seems you've continually denied his requests for a match, why is that? Holliday: Mike Masters is a top contender for championships here in this area, Man Mountain Link is a nobody. Mike Masters has been here proving himself for almost 5 months now while Link has barely been here 3 weeks. When he's actually proven worthy of a shot against a wrestler the caliber of Mike Masters then he will get one but not before. Steve Stack: Well we have to cut this interview short so we can make sure we have the full 10 minutes allotted for the 10 minute time limit of the main event but I would have liked to ask you about the rematch between Art Crews and Timothy Flowers this week if we'd had more time. Holliday: It's better that we didn't, Art Crews isn't worth being talked about, you saw how Timothy Flowers quickly dispatched him last week. -Mike Masters and Jim Holliday head down to the ring for the main event Steve Stack: Quickly dispatched isn't how I would term having your manager help you get a victory but nonetheless we're ready for our main event of the program so let's head down to the ring where it's about to get underway. Robert Fuller stands at ringside and mocks Welch for losing and Welch looks ready to come out of the ring after him when suddenly Masters gets the TV Title from Holliday and blasts Welch in the back of the head with it! Masters leaves the ring and shakes hands with Robert Fuller and then Robert Fuller trash talks Roy Lee Welch, telling him about how Robert is the National Champion and Roy is a nothing now. Steve Stack: We've got a new Southwest Television Champion! I had no idea Robert Fuller was still here in Texas! This must have been what Jim Holliday meant when he talked about making allies out of enemies. Roy Lee Welch looks beside himself and I know he is going to be looking for revenge against his cousin Robert Fuller and also after Mike Masters to get that TV Title back. Fans we're out of time on today's program but make sure you're in The HemisFair Arena this Sunday night to see another exciting night of action as Tully Blanchard has to defend the Southwest Heavyweight Title against 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan and will lose the title if he gets disqualified, The Fabulous Ones defend the Southwest Tag Team Titles against the team of Mr. Saito and Yoshi Seito, El Gran Apollo takes on newcomer Goldie Rogers and more! You won't want to miss it and don't forget to join us here next week for more of the most exciting hour in all of professional wrestling right here on Southwest Championship Wrestling! Scheduled for Sunday, November 20th at the HemisFair Arena in San Antonio, TX AWA Southwest Heavyweight Title: Jim Duggan vs. Tully Blanchard - If Tully is disqualified he loses the Southwest Heavyweight Title/If Jim Duggan doesn't win then he will not receive another title shot while Tully is the champion AWA Southwest Tag Team Titles: The Fabulous Ones vs. Mr. Saito & Yoshi Seito Goldie Rogers vs. El Gran Apollo Mike Jackson & Tony Torres vs. The Assassins Southwest Television Title: Roy Lee Welch vs. Mike Masters Ken Lucas & Eddie Gilbert vs. Bruiser Costa & Terry Adonis Art Crews vs. Timothy Flowers Yin & Yang vs. Tiny Anderson & Man Mountain Link
  23. They totally killed Jack Swagger dead in his tracks when they suddenly decided to take him from a goofy red white and blue wearing Kurt Angle clone into a super serious suit wearing Chris Jericho clone when he won the World Title.
  24. Gotta disagree with the Watts didn't create stars thing. There were a lot of guys who became big stars in Mid-South who weren't big names at all before their runs there. JYD, Jim Duggan and Magnum TA were 3 guys who weren't main event acts in other territories before getting their big breaks in Mid-South. The Midnight Express w/Cornette wasn't even a thing before they got to Mid-South. You can say that that was all Bill Dundee but it doesn't happen without Watts and it's especially true due to the work he did with them on TV to help get Cornette over. He wasn't a guy who took the greenest of talents and developed them but then not every territory was. Memphis & Portland were lower tier territories that developed the really young guys because their pay was lower than places like Mid-South or Crockett and had no other choice.
  25. Even if her heat is really "go away" heat you can STILL use that. We're in an age where people will buy tickets to Raw solely to go and try to "hijack" the show with chants to show how much they don't like WWE. You can use Eva Marie vs. Bayley as a way to sell tickets for a Takeover show outside of Full Sail by making it seem like Eva is going to win the belt and then you get people who will buy tickets just so they can hate on Eva and show the company the "error of it's ways" by acting like shit heads.
