  1. Yeah, Foley was a pretty active part of World Class in it's dying days and was doing jobs in the WWF during 1986. Douglas was in the UWF.
  2. It might be a way to get the Network into countries that don't have the infastructure to handle a streaming service like this.
  3. I didn't see the Omega tag. It seems like both Hardys might actually be clean this year which would maybe account for the improvement?
  4. Sting had two randomly good matches with DDP on Nitro in 98 and 99. That Bound for Glory match with Hogan was better than it had any right of being. He also had good matches with Jarrett and Lethal in TNA.
  5. He's been better this year but I haven't liked the handful of matches I saw. Jeff has been quietly a really solid performer since that debacle with Sting.

That trailer for Sting in the video game was awesome.
  7. Didn't DeNucci train Mick Foley and several other guys at the same time? I think Shane Douglas was one.
  8. People are easily won over by flashy. They remember the cool things that Michaels did and forget the flaws. It's why people regard the Taker/Mankind match so well. They remember the two big spots but don't remember that the rest of the match sucked.
  9. I disagree with Matt Hardy being top 50. I think Jeff Hardy has been doing consistently better stuff.
  10. Ha, that's on every SMW episode and most of the early ECW shows.
  11. I do hate their cut in promos during matches. I never know where to look and miss the action half the time.
  12. It's just so snappy. They get to the point, make it memorable and it's over before you ever think to get bored. Even Hogan's stuff is pretty short. These shows are just bam bam bam done. No wasted air time and no wasted content. It's not like now where it feels like they're just using filler for half the episodes.
  13. Duggan was a late starter because of his football career. So he was 33 or 34 when he got to the WWF.
  14. I'm still disappointed that the TNA budget cuts ended the Steamboat heel turn.
  15. Lance Storm tops my overrated list. I don't care how many moves the guy knows or how crisp the execution. The guy is a fucking bore. He has less charisma than the corpse of Giant Gonzalez and his matches are never as good as they should be. I'm trying to think of a a classic Lance Storm match and nothing sticks out to me. I'll throw Joey Styles out there as overrated too. He gets treated like some announcing God but he was an incredibly limited guy that Heyman really protected. Underrated. A lot of the guys the WWE got post prime like Hacksaw Jim Duggan and the Bushwhackers. People seem to remember them as shitty workers when they were just winding down and extending their careers with a less demanding style. I likewise feel the Fantastics are largely forgotten by people when they were one of the best teams of the 80s.
  16. Orndorff was the TV Champion around that time.
  17. They could have held off for 2 months and brought in Tito Santana when his WWF contract ran out.
  18. They also have almost every episode of World Championship Wrestling from 1985 through almost 1988. They have Wrestling Challenge from it's start in 1986 to sometime in 1990 ready from the Online 24/7. They likewise have Superstars from post-Survivor Series in 1990 to almost 1993 ready to go. I'm really not trying to bitch about the service. It just reeks of a lack of effort on their part. You could literally have someone who just works on editing the episodes and be able to crank out an episode per territory per week. I think people would be completely happy with that. Hell, they could just go on a tape trading site, get the SMW television on DVD in perfect order, edit out the music and it's ready to go.
  19. I really enjoyed his podcast when I first heard it way back in 2005 or 2006.
  20. I know it's a little early but I was blown away by how good Matt Borne was in 1993. I knew the heel Doink character was really awesome but I had him pegged as the 3rd or 4th best worker in the entire company during the year. I wasn't expecting that.
  21. I want to like the Network but the lack of effort in the old content really bothers me. I also rarely watch it now that I have a Roku box and the Plex channel let's me watch all of my wrestling content on the tv in good quality now. Honestly, if they just put more WCCW or started up with SMW or Mid-South and consistently put up new episodes I would be happy.
  22. Can you get a lot of the Monday night shows on DVD? I would be interested in those too if I could acquire them. So far I have 1984-1986 of the television. I should have 1979-1989 by September and then I'm good to go on watching it.

I always liked seeing Gabriel pop up on Superstars because you knew you were getting a good match. I've never felt that there was much they could do with him any higher up the card. The guy is a cardboard cut out in the personality department. I think he'd be fine in that Koko B. Ware/Lanny Poffo role.
  24. Some thoughts from my early viewings: It's disturbing and sad to see how much Adrian Adonis has blown up since when I was watching 1985. Paul Orndorff coming out to Hogan's music is such a great troll. I have this reaction every time I see him but god is Moondog Spot is a great worker. He's always my favorite part of old house shows and tv shows. One of my favorite parts of old tv is getting specific town feeds and seeing the bumper promos for that area.
  25. That does strike me. All of these really legendary and great segments were a handful of minutes. Piper's Pit was like 3-5 minutes at most. They didn't need 20 minute talkfests to make a single match for the main event.
