  1. The Iconics are a terrible act that have no business being on the main roster. I have been a Seth Rollins hater for a long time but I think he excels at being this workhorse IC Champion. They should give him a year long run with the belt and just have him open PPVs with kick ass matches.
  2. How about Randy Savage appearing as the Grey Ghost on Space Ghost Coast to Coast?
  3. I need way more Ishii and Suzuki stiffing each other in my life.
  4. This guy on eBay has hundreds of wrestling programs up and I'm super tempted by a lot of them.
  5. I'm always shocked when I see David Heath popping up for job duty in the late 80s.
  6. That would be terrible for joshi in Japan though. There's already too many promotions out there. The last thing joshi needs is for Japan to start poaching talent and for their to be another promotion out there running nights and taking up TV time. If they want to buy and finance Stardom or WAVE, okay go for it. But them starting a new promotion would be terrible.
  7. I'm pretty sure Kimbo was pretty much dead by the time that fight happened. I would have to go look but his medicals were brutal.
  8. If you are interested in finishing Invincible and are okay with digital, it literally just went on sale on Comixology.
  9. Sometimes I watch these old shows and all I can do is look at how dirty the mat is and be horrified.
  10. Because you have like 9 women's promotions fighting over the same scraps for fans. Plus those promotions are training most of their talent. So you're either going to have to train your own wrestlers, bring in freelancers that people can watch 5 nights a week anyway or bring in shitty wrestlers none of those promotions want. You have to go through all of that and your average New Japan fan would probably rather see Nagata or Kojima work a Young Lion in place of that match. Some random fan that is buying a ticket already has access to those other 9 promotions out there if they like joshi so why do they need it provided to them by New Japan?
  11. Yeah, if I want women's wrestling I'll just fire up Stardom and watch it there. I don't see why New Japan needs to have women's matches on it. That's like saying they needed to bring in deathmatch wrestlers for their big shows.
  12. Martel and the Buschwackers always surprise me with how long they were kicking around the WWE.
  13. Which makes them both smarter than Sabu. Seriously though, I watched the clip Thread Killer posted and actually found myself agreeing with Sabu. One clip led to another, and I gotta ask, what the fuck is with Sean Oliver? He always looks like he's ready to fall asleep. I figure the Bullet Club shirts will start drying up when they're hitting 36-37. I think you will probably see the Bucks negotiate some sort of deal where they take less guaranteed money to get a bigger cut of their merchandise sales. I think that's their end game is to clean up in WWE before retirement.
  14. Also in context their program has been better than Flair/Steamboat. Flair/Steamboat was boring as hell outside of the matches. I was dying to get to Flair/Funk on my last watch of 1989.
  15. I haven't been able to watch this yet. I've wanted to have the time to sit down and really digest the match. With that said, I think they've easily had the best rivalry of this decade. The matches have been at the worst really good. I was someone that was skeptical of Omega being their top gaijin but he proved me wrong in a big way. I don't understand the obsession with snowflakes. It's a really subjective idea and I think people put far more thought into this than Dave does. Why does his rating bother you that much? I just like watching wrestling and honestly I could give a shit about snowflakes.
  16. I think you'll see Omega and the Bucks do it to get a final payday before retirement.
  17. Invincible is a really good self contained superhero book that just finished up. It's a lot like old school Spider-Man. It has about 144 issues. It's written by Kirkman who also does Walking Dead.
  18. I think that Rollins/Elias match is their typical bad timing. I think it will be a great match but Elias shouldn't be taking a loss at this stage and you shouldn't be taking the title off of Rollins yet. I think they could get a solid year out of Rollins as IC Champion opening PPVs with good matches.
  19. I always had an idea to do a late 60s/ early 70s DC ep of Imaginary Stories where we focused on Adams stuff like Deadman and Arrow/Lantern. It's a really interesting era It was brief but his run on X-Men from this era is outstanding.
  20. Love this episode. If I ever wrestled it would be as Killer Kadoogan.
  21. Herman Munster wrestling.
  22. The relationship has gone south. MSG is super expensive to run now so the WWE have started using Barclay's.
  23. DG would lose some of the charm of they stopped claiming 8000 for a building that only holds 6500.
  24. This was a really strong listen. I want to go get the TV for 82 and 83 now. Also, thanks for introducing me to the Breaking Kayfabe podcast.
