I thought he was the best part in Moana.
-
I wouldnt mind them having the briefcase winner getting a title shot. Just destroying the champion for the DQ or count out, then cashing in right there and finishing them off to win the belt.
-
He's got plenty of time for that but it's probably hard to say no when they wheel a dump truck full of money up to your house to star in Rampage.
-
The guy that plays Star Lord is also carrying those Jurassic Park movies right now. He's kind of blown up the last few years.
-
Fast and Furious franchise also absolutely exploded when The Rock joined the movies as well. 7 did 1.5 billion worldwide.
-
And I'm not taking away from Batista. Drax is a good role for him and he's excelled in that role.
-
Yeah but he starred in Jumanji and it's one of the highest grossing movies of all time. It made like 950 million.
-
In Hollywood? Rock was headlining movies from day 1. Batista lucked into getting cast as Drax which was a role with a lot of legs across multiple movies.

I think comedy wrestlers in general get kind of undersold for their character work. Guys like Colt or RD Evans do tons of things in their matches that are consistent with their characters. I also think the Young Bucks are top notch when it comes to blending their personalities into what they do.

Silas Young is a prime example of a guy that has a great character. He isn't afraid to have people hate him and then he goes out there and wrestles the exact opposite of how his character should wrestle. His character wouldn't do flashy aerial stuff. A dropkick should be high risk for him. Chuck Taylor is a good example of a guy that wrestles like his character though. His Chae of the PWG Title as he got more aggressive in the ring and showed that he was taking things more seriously as a wrestler because he had a goal to accomplish.

I find it has good action, even if the booking is less than good. The bad booking is at least entertaining in how bad it was.

UFC doesn't necessarily do great on TV and it's been in a state of decline for a solid 8 years minus Ronda and Conner. They haven't created new stars to replace the guys that made them popular to begin with.

It's a side effect of the other TV deals live programming is getting right now. It's all overpriced. I think we'll see a market correction as a lot of these networks aren't going to be able to afford these deals as ratings continue to decline. I think the hardest hit is going to be the NFL because they have been so resistant to technology compared to everyone else.

Herb Abram's UWF. I love it. I know it sucks but it brings me an almost childish joy to flip on an episode.

Wrestling moves/holds I'd like to see mount a comeback

Bianca Belair in NXT does a pretty sick looking deadlift military press slam. -
I liked how on the WWIII podcast you guys briefly talked about "WCW sucked sometimes because they had big ideas" instead of "LOLWCWDUM".
-
I really like how you guys are presenting terrible wresting and have managed to do it in a different way than Wrestlecrap tended to approach things. It feels really fresh.

I hate the Pens but Kessel amuses me greatly. My wife and I were howling when they went to the White House and he still looked like a slob with his tuxedo on.

Has wrestling gone overboard with the various streaming services?

Chikara has started using some more outside talent this year unlike the last couple of years so I'm wondering if they have seen more revenue coming in from their streaming service. -
It's interesting the people my wife takes to. I was watching old Mid-Atlantic stuff and Alfred Hayes did a promo and she thought he was the best one on the show with people like Piper and Slaughter running around.
-
I'm less excited about the signing than I would have been a year ago. It feels like the sky was the limit for someone who could perform last year and now there feels like a glass ceiling on the women's division if you aren't Ronda, Alexa or Charlotte.

Yeah, I would agree with that. Wrestling is like comic books. You have to get in young and get attached to it so that you can forgive the shortcomings that come with it.

I know I've trashed the WAVE service on here before but I don't know how anyone pays for that long term. I think it might be cheaper and easier just to pick up their TV and whatever else Lynch gets. -
I have less faith in them to do something interesting with her now. Sane feels like she's just treading water and I feel like Io will be doing the same there. And it will be even worse on the main roster if she ever got there. This is one I will believe when I see because of Io's injury history and that they got scared off by it last time.

I'm far less excited by the prospect of her going now than I was a year ago.
