He got outclassed by a can. I know some guys that do amateur MMA as a side hobby. Maybe fight like twice a year that would probably destroy Punk. They might as well start the Punk Bum Fight series at this point.
I really miss the variety you got on those WCW PPVs in that 96-98 era. They're super easy to sit through because so many styles pop up. Bischoff really doesn't get the credit he deserves for the WCW boom.
It consistently amazes me that New Japan will start to lose me with their direction and then pull me back in with a show like this. Omega and Jericho as champions open so many doors for potential going forward. I'm really hoping we get Omega/Naito for Wrestle Kingdom.
No, I think by about 7 that night the details were starting to filter in. And WWE would have been ahead of the curve as far as information goes. There were enough red flags out there that they shouldn't have done it. It was a really stupid decision.
I told my wife who isn't a hardcore fan or anything. She just watches some PPVs with me. Her exact words "What? Why?" with a horrified look on her face.
Yeah, the choice they made really is the wrong one. They would have been better off not mentioning it at all. If things get cleared up and he wasn't responsible, you can do the tribute later and no one cares.
It's also amazing the difference six months made with DDP. He doesn't feel like a star here. He comes off as a try hard. Good worker but he feels forgettable.
I really enjoyed Vicious and Delicious as a tag team. More than I ever liked Steiner and Bagwell together. I think he surprises me sometimes because he got so bad at points after the neck injury.
They have shirts in Hot Topic and just sold out a 10,000 seat arena for a show and probably underestimated the draw. They are way bigger than Jim Cornette is.
When a lot of that stuff came out they were already bigger stars than Cornette. The initial beef they had with him was that he convinced them to sign with RoH and then didn't us them consistently which cost them money.
Bucks are good shit talkers if you catch them on camera. Their New Japan work is also very different from what you see in RoH. And even then there have been some really good matches this year where they have sold their asses off in matches.
I took my niece and her friend to an anime convention this weekend. Sadly missed the Mega Championship Wrestling show but I did watch an 80 year couple eagerly walking into a room for the robot fights today.
Idiots Guide to Pro Wrestling was my first real exposure to wrestling history. I know that book had it's problems but it was fascinating to me at the time.
I also love games like Legends of Wrestling and the wrestlers it's given me exposure to like William Muldoon.
