I think that's one a cocktail of things, wrestling's secretive nature being a key ingredient. Apparently, there was hesitation to even contact the police when they realized he was dead.

Yes. It may have been their last match period. I recently watched Garvin/Arn from 1/2/88 on TBS. The match had far less heat than it would have a year earlier and the announcers don't even play up Garvin's credibility as a former world champion who beat Ric Flair, even though they were only about a month out from the title change and news traveled slower then, so there should have been an immediacy to Garvin being a man without a belt. They obviously wanted it out of sight, out of mind, which is a shame.

Wow, I loved this match. Anderson and London are an odd looking team on paper, but actually complement each other very well. London is FIP for a while and does a great job of it, and the Togo/Hidaka team is wise enough to know how to adapt the American tag formula to the Japanese audience. I loved CW's surprise spinebuster in the finishing stretch too. Ki-Styles was a great match that should have been better, while this was a match that overachieved.

They lost me by going too overboard with big moves in the last few minutes, but this was still a great match because of the foundation they laid before that kicked in. Loved the spots where Styles was sure he had the upper hand and was then showed up. That sense of character eroded some as the match progressed, which is too bad, but overall, this was still great.

I know, it's just that they've signed other guys his size during that time. Granted, they haven't pushed them, but they've signed them at least.

I'd love to know why they didn't sign Styles ten years ago, though. That's a very valid question.
