To add to what I was saying earlier, I don't believe there has been a single one of these WWE/NXT War Games where they don't have every person or every other person bring some new variant of kendo stick/chair/trash can/table into the ring. They can't just let two rings surrounded by a cage be enough. Everything has to be an over the top, over produced spectacle. The concept of less is more is so lost on them it's unreal.

I don't know whether it's a hot take or not, but I absolutely agree with you. Much llke everything else in wrestling, they took War Games and WWE'd it. It's over produced, totally homogenized, and lacks everything that made the match memorable in the first place. I know not all of the NWA/WCW War Games matches had the blood feud/grudge match vibe but when you watch 87, 89, 92, 94 and then compare it to this, it may as well not even be the same sport. Those felt like gritty fights between men that wanted to kill each other. These feel like what they are, highly choreographed, highly scripted acrobatics that now pass for wrestling.

Much like the "What" chant, I really hope one day wrestling fans/crowds will get over the obsession with tables. We've seen a million of the damn things broken since Sabu made it a trend nearly 30 years ago. It would be amazing to move on

The in-ring action is horrible, and only gets worse as the episodes progress. We are purposefully seeking out poor to terrible matches, then attempting to call them as straight as we can with a comedic twist. (and sometimes failing miserably) Some of the sbows are onea I was actually a ring announcer for, and some are ones that Gene wrestled on. So we are not trying to mock the people participating themselves, but more looking to add an MST3K style spin to things. i really appreciate you checking it out, and I hope you'll share further thoughts!

Well, I was trying to be nice, since you never know what is considered too mean to say anymore. (I still have flashbacks to the "Chris Hero has gained some weight" explosion of several years back) I am with you. Why she and Saraya are prominently featured while Athena is stuck on Ring of Honor, and Bunny and Penelope, who may not be the best workers but are far more entertaining aren't doing a damn thing is beyond me.

Between all the crying she did about Tay Melo being too stiff with her, the spots in this match (and a few others), and the general level of nothing she's brought to the table since her much hyped debut. I am really starting to think that Ruby just isn't very good, but the fact that everyone seems to like her has taken her really far and somehow given her the reputation of being way better than she is.

This week Rudy Rodriguez returns for redemption as he takes on the villainous, Tojo Yamamoto Jr the 2nd!
