Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
Blehschmidt replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
I can't really say why, but when I was 9 years old.....Beefcake was my favorite guy on the roster other than Savage. -
Has there ever been a positive word said about the announcing of Duke Doherty? That of Superstar Billy Graham? That of Larry Zbyszko or Rob Bartlett? Are there people today who claim that Sid or Giant Gonzalez was really underrated? Looking back at stuff you first saw a while ago doesn't mean that you're flip-flopping your opinion on it. Plenty of times it results in saying, "Oh, yeah, now I remember why I hated that." I actually have a friend who ranks Larry as one of his two favorite announcers. He also likes late 90's WCW. I also wanted to bring up Joey Styles, who seemed to be universally loved during the time ECW was around, but now seems to have a fair amount of detractors.

The Historiography of the Greatest Match Of All Time
Blehschmidt replied to Al's topic in Pro Wrestling
I would like to interject that talking about what kids today know is a fairly moot point. I worked the past 4 years at a public high school, and I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt.....these kids are fucking stupid. Self entitled, over privileged, egocentric....and really stupid. That doesn't really have much to do with anything, but it makes me feel better to say it....sorry. However, to make a better point, a lady I worked with whose son went to the school was a wrestling fan. He thinks Randy Orton is the best wrestler alive, he thought that the Chikara I loaned him was "gay" and he thought most of the matches on the Ric Flair DVD that WWE put out were "long and boring" Ugggh.... -

If were going with the Dudleys ripping fans to shreds, I present....... Heatwave 1999

El Generico has had fantastic matches in multiple companies during that time period, and is over everywhere he goes. Probably not enough, but I thought I would toss him out there.

Look at Johnny Saint, still entertaining as hell at age 70. I would say when the crowd is concerned by you taking a bump, instead of being entertained, it is time to hang it up. I was at a show the other night where the Rock and Roll Express and the Midnight Express were beating up the owner of the company, and DDP ran in for the save. Who took the Diamond Cutter.....Dennis Condrey. My first reaction was "of all the fucking guys in that ring, Dennis takes the bump?"

Best news I've read in weeks. That is fantastic news! I honestly hope he has one last good WWE run, and then maybe finds a way to work some indy shots or something. Would love to see him, Finlay, and Dave Taylor at King of Trios!! -

I find myself liking Daniels as a heel (Prophecy, not respecting the code of honor) but when he is a face, he just seems very homogenized and bland. -

I presume you mean in terms of a push and not full benefits as a producer/agent. I should have phrased that differently. This guy deserved to be utilized better then how he ended up getting used. I'm glad he got the producer/agent gig. -

Re-watching some of Jamie Noble's indy run from 2005, and he had all kinds of fantastic matches. That guy deserved a lot more than he ended up with. -
Whatever the hell is going on with Daizee Haze looking unhealthy
Blehschmidt replied to Bix's topic in Pro Wrestling
I've hated watching her for a while now, because she is constantly wrestling men, and taking high impact bumps. Not to mention German Suplexing guys like Brodie Lee for her finish. She is far too thin, and every match I just keep thinking, something is going to snap. -

Thank You. and as for thinking they weren't students, it was just something I had heard repeated elsewhere and believed. -

Since everyone here really seems to know their shit, maybe you can help me out. Does anyone know where Obariyon and Kodama, Chikara's Batiri came from? I don't think they are Chikara students, but I can't seem to get any hints about their identity anywhere I've looked. Thanks. -

To be fair, he probably didn't mean our as in his own, since he likely just straight up copied and pasted that from somewhere else. -
I've read this whole thread, and I still don't understand the Dave Taylor thing. Why was he there?

Punk came out to "Cult of Personality" which shocked me a bit. I am guessing most people here are familiar, but if not, he used that in ROH after he won the title on his "last night" with the company and went all heelish on them. Nice little nod. However, I was appalled when people on other boards I frequent were going "OMG Punk has a new theme song, what is it?" How do you not know Cult of Personality? Sure you may not know it from him using it in ROH, but that song is a classic. Damn these kids and there Justin Bieber.

Been watching alot of '95 and '96 ECW, and I have to put my vote on 2 Cold Scorpio. Worked well as both a heel and a face. Was doing amazing moonsaults and 450's and other crazy shit before cruiserweight wrestling exploded in the states. Could also work really well in a straight up wrestling match. May not have been the best talker in the world, but has undeniable charisma. and could also dance like a motherfucker!

Pro Wrestling Magazine Memories(NOT from WWF Magazine)
Blehschmidt replied to Johnny Sorrow's topic in Pro Wrestling
I still buy the PWI 500 every year. Not sure why, I know the whole thing is stupid. But I guess it makes me feel like a kid again buying the magazines.
