  1. I didn't feel the need to comment on the rest of your post, because other than having differing opinions on the opener (which really comes down to whether you like the style) I was pretty much in agreeance with you on the content of the episode. I like PAC, but I wouldn't rate him in my Fave 5 or anything like that. I just don't understand this visceral hatred you put in this thread literally every single time he is on TV. There are certainly things to nitpick with the AEW product, but I don't see at any point where he has been part of those things. Obviously you don't like the guy, that's cool. I just don't get making statements like Tony Khan must regret signing him, when he's done nothing but put on good matches. It's not like he's been involved in the segments or angles that are bombing, he hasn't injured anyone, and I can't think they are paying him Jericho money in the first place.
  2. Give it up dude. Everyone else seems to be enjoying Pac's work but you. I agree with you 100% on Spears though. As for the show: I really dug the opening tag match, but I enjoy that PWG style shit and like everyone involved (except Omega) Cody promo was awesome as always, Janela promo not so much. The Nightmare Collective needs to die immediately. No one knows or cares who Luther is, Kong is obviously about done, the Mel chick is fine and can join the Dark Order, and Brandi can go back to managing Cody because no one is buying this shit. Shida and Statlander deserved so much better than being stuck in that garbage. Mox/Guevara was fine for what it was, but I felt like Sammy took a bit too much of the match. But since it was all building to the post match, whatever. Post match was great. 6 man tag was there. Like Thread Killer stated, QT Marshall being there to get pinned was ridiculously obvious. Didn't expect the DDP floor dive! Loved Pac/Allin, two of my favorites in the company. Overall, not a bad episode, but the Nightmare Collective has GOT to go.
  3. TNT has renewed Dynamite until 2023.
  4. Big rumor is that the new contract makes him head booker, he only has to work 40 dates, makes a shitload of money, and can work for NJPW and NWA as well. If true, good for him for getting all he could from the dumpster fire.
  5. I'm sure I could google this and find answers, but since my knowledge of Japanese wrestling is pretty limited and this board is full of knowledgeable people, I will ask here! Whatever happened to Shoji Nakamaki and Hiroshi Ono? I remember them from the Kawasaki Dream show, and they've popped up in other matches involving Funk and Cactus that I've watched, but did they do anything else in puroresu? I know they took a LOT of fucking stupid chair shots to the head in the matches I've seen, so I can only assume they didn't have long careers. But I'm just curious. Were they always deathmatch guys? Did they go on to do anything of note? Appreciate any info!
  6. I don't disagree with you. Brandi Rhodes living out the Goth phase her parent's wouldn't let her have when she was 15 on national television is fucking terrible. I just felt like the Smash Brothers had a gimmick that was built for modern audiences and seemingly tossed it out the window just cause they couldn't use the name.
  7. Here's what I don't get about the Dark Order. This gimmick is obviously the shits and isn't really working. They are both good workers, and the previous video game based gimmick of Player Uno and Player Dos would probably actually get over with today's modern crowd who likely play a lot of video games. Yeah, they couldn't be called the Super Smash Brothers cause Nintendo would sue the shit out of AEW, but there have to be a million other video game related names they could come up with to name the team, no need to toss the baby out with the fucking bath water just cause you had to change your name.
  8. Meth and Hepatitis seems to be the consensus. Of course he still bled all over the place, cause you know... Thankfully his opponent was just Shlak.
  9. Necro Butcher looking healthy at whatever show trotted him out for a deathmatch this past weekend.....
  10. Great episode, but man I think the wrong Japanese girl is champion. Shida is fucking awesome.

  12. I can agree that the 3 man commentary booth is unneeded (though his description of Excalibur is ridiculous) and I do find myself agreeing that Kenny Omega does a whole lot of unnecessary gesturing and pointing to the point of being distracting at times. Other than that, I agree with you on the nitpicking. I still particularly like that in the main part of the article he acts like he doesn't know who Riho is. Then at the end says she isn't believable as champion.
  13. For a "first time viewer" he seems to know a whole hell of a lot about what's going on. How does he know Riho isn't believable when she wasn't on the show? How does he know all Kenny Omega matches go over 15 minutes? This strikes me as someone burying the product for the sake of burying the product. Not that he doesn't make some valid points, but "first time viewer" my ass.
  14. The Kushida/Grimes match on NXT was a ton of fun. Trevor Lee was always one of my favorite guys on the indies, I really hope this is some indication they plan to do more with him!
  15. The joke itself isn't necessarily funny, but since Cornette gives Janela nothing but shit, him mocking the joke that got Cornette canned from the NWA show made me laugh.
  16. Vickie Guerrero was pretty enjoyable on commentary this week. Joey Janela joined for the last two matches and said that Orange Cassidy was "So brave he'd strap a bucket of maple syrup to his back and ride a motorbike through Canada"
  17. Does anyone know who the blonde accompanying Eddie Gilbert to the ring is for his Falls Count Anywhere Tri-State match against Cactus Jack? It's not Missy Hyatt, and I am pretty sure it isn't Madusa.
  18. So long as one of them are drinking Clamato Juice, I am totally in for this feud....per say
  19. I'm with you all on Statlander, but I wish they hadn't beat Shida to do it. She was the only other female on the roster that seemed to be gaining any momentum.
  20. I just can't get past the fact that Havoc looks like that one 40 year old guy who never got over his Goth phase that you see at every concert, with that exact haircut, wearing a black trench coat, and bitching about how he liked the band before you ever heard of them.

    WWE Hidden Gems

I wonder if this is them prepping to move all of the classic content to a higher priced tier, since they assume we'll just pay for anything.
  22. Maybe this is the most forward thinking, make a statement booking ever done by WWE trying to get people to see the injustice that runs rampant in society ....or maybe the angle is fucking terrible. One of those two for sure.

    WWE Hidden Gems

That sucks. The current product certainly doesn't give a lot to look forward to weekly, but I was always excited to hear what was coming out for Hidden Gems.
  24. There was a theory going around Twitter (I think) this week that so far everyone Bray has worked with has turned. Bryan from heel to face, and both Rollins and Balor from Face to Heel. Probably a giant coincidence, but the people were trying to correlate the Hurt/Heal gloves with making people change alignment. Again, probably just a coincidence, I certainly don't buy it, but certainly an interesting thought.
