  1. He was above average at best....
  2. World Class sends The Great Kabuki to Southeastern for Superstar Graham Also, Don Carsen is listed on my roster and should not be.
  3. Superstars is such a good read every time, and like people have mentioned, you have wrestling on WTBS down. Looking forward to Rich/Sawyer mixing it up some more. Liking the Gunslingers already, and a match with the Fantastics should prove to be a damn good one. The feud between Reed and Duggan is heating up, and I feel like we'll be see'ing a big time gimmick match in their future. You might want to check the 4/23 tag match result, I think it was meant to be Angelo instead of Lanny in the match against Hart/Dibiase
  4. I'd take him, but I don't know that you'd have interest in what I have to offer. I could send you Grizzly Boone, Taras Bulba (Juan Reynosa), The Mongol (Gene Petit), or Yoshiaki Yatsu. If you wanna work something, shoot me a message. If not, I understand.

Your main event scene is just fantastic. Race vs Funk is gonna be awesome, and the Race/Bock match lived up to expectations to get us there! Idol is a great contender for Hogan, and you've got Lawler in a blood feud with HTM that is gonna lead to some classic brawls. Meanwhile Tully is biding his time with the TV Title. Anyone of these guys could be holding the top title in a promotion, and you've got them all under on roof. The balancing is great, but at some point I hope you find a way to have all of these elements come together for some kind of once in a lifetime winner takes all match for the title!
  6. -Broadcasting live to our local affiliates in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri, as well as in Syndication across these great United States, the American Wrestling Association proudly presents World Class Wrestling, coming to you this week from the Irish McNeil Boys Club in Shreveport, Louisiana!- Jim Ross: Good Evening Ladies and Gentleman, and welcome to AWA World Class Wrestling! I'm Jim Ross and joining me as always is "Cowboy" Bill Watts. Bill Watts: Thank you Jim. We have quite a line up of action this week, including the first two second round matches in the tournament for the...Oh, what the heck is this... Skandor Akbar and Friday are leading Kamala to ringside. Friday and Kamala head into the ring, but Akbar heads over to the Marc Lowrance and grabs the house microphone. Skandor Akbar: KABUKI!! I know you are here tonight! I am daring you to come to this ring and fight Kamala right now! Akbar shoves the microphone back into the hands of Lowrance and joins Friday in the ring with Kamala. Jim Ross: Skandor Akbar calling for The Great Kabuki to come to the ring and fight Kamala. Last week we saw Akbar berate Kabuki after Kabuki lost to Magnum TA, and we saw Kabuki respond by spraying that green mist into the eyes of the "General." Bill Watts: Well, it looks like Akbar is going to get what he wants, because here comes Kabuki!! The Great Kabuki comes to the ring, followed by a host of security and referee's. From the back comes Bob Geigel making a rare on camera appearance, and he tells security and all of the referee's other than Jerry Usher to get out of the ring and declares the match official! 1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit -The Great Kabuki vs Kamala w/Skandor Akbar & Friday- Kamala immediately began to lay into Kabuki with wild chops to the top of the head, but Kabuki fired back with martial arts blows into the midsection of the Ugandan Giant that staggered Kamala into the corner. Kabuki used a side kick that stunned Kamala and then attempted to lock in a nerve hold under the armpits of his larger opponent, but Kamala bit him which got Kabuki to let go. Kamala again began firing away with big chops to the head that staggered Kabuki, but Kabuki fought back with a series of kicks to the stomach and one to the head, that actually knocked the big man off of his feet. It was then that Akbar waved frantically to the back and The Mongols raced toward the ring and interjected themselves into the action. Nazar Bulba was the first one into the ring, and he received a face full of the green mist for his effort. Taras fared a little better, throwing a clothesline at Kabuki, which was ducked, and then catching a huge Thrust Kick to the face that sent him down to the canvas. What he did do however was buy Kamala enough time to recover, and when Kabuki turned back around he was met with a huge thrust kick from Kamala! As soon as Kabuki hit the canvas, Kamala leapt onto him with the Big Splash. Akbar and Friday were both quickly into the ring, and Akbar could be heard screaming "AGAIN." Friday was jabbering instructions and Kamala obliged, delivering another Big Splash onto the prone form of Kabuki. Taras Bulba recovered, and stretched the arms of Kabuki out over his head, while Akbar grabbed the legs of Kabuki leaving his midsection totally exposed and unprotected. Friday pointed Kamala to the turnbuckle. Kamala looked unsure, but eventually complied and came crashing down on the exposed Kabuki with a huge Splash from the Second Rope. As Friday herded Kamala away from the ring, and Taras Bulba helped his blinded partner away from ringside, Skandor Akbar stood laughing over the prone form of The Great Kabuki. Winner, by Disqualification: The Great Kabuki -Commercial Break- Jim Ross: Welcome back folks. While we were at break, The Great Kabuki was taken out of the ring on a stretcher and is now being loaded into an ambulance to be taken to the hospital. It would seem to me that Akbar never cared about a match, or winning or losing. That whole thing was a set up in an attempt to take The Great Kabuki out of our sport. Your thoughts Bill? Bill Watts: I have to agree with you Jim. After the events of last week, a match between Kamala and Kabuki made sense, which is why Bob Geigel came out here and made it. But as you said, Akbar never cared about the outcome of any match. His plan all along was to hurt the man. I hope he is happy that he achieved that goal, because I am certain there will be repercussions for his actions. Jim Ross: Up next we have the first match of the second round of the Heavyweight Title tournament, which will see Dick Murdoch take on Barry Windham. 1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit -Barry Windham vs Dick Murdoch- Murdoch took early control of this one grabbing a headlock out of the lock up and working it for all it was worth. Windham did all he could to get out of it, but Murdoch stubbornly held on until finally Barry dropped him with a big back suplex that got him to let go. Then it was Barry's turn as he grabbed Murdoch and nailed him with a series of atomic drops that had Murdoch doing some wild dancing and flailing as the pain rocketed up his back side. Barry then slapped on his own side headlock, took Murdoch over and nearly scored a surprise three count! Murdoch managed to work his way back to his feet while in the headlock and shot Barry into the ropes, Dick nailed him with a shoulderblock that sent Windham to the canvas. Murdoch hit the ropes for momentum, and went for an elbow drop, but Windham rolled out of the way. With a pained expression Murdoch jumped back up and went for another elbow, but Windham rolled out of the way again. Both men were quickly back up, and an irate Murdoch charged at Windham, only to be caught with an armdrag, that Windham converted into an armbar. The match continued in this back and forth manner until well past the ten minute mark with both men gaining near falls on the other, until finally the veteran Murdoch was in full control at around the twelve minute mark nailing his younger opponent with a big bodyslam, then dropping a knee across his forehead. Murdoch kept on him, dropping an elbow across his chest, then pulled him up by his hair and whipped him hard into the turnbuckle. Murdoch followed him in with a back elbow, then used a series of shoulders to his midsection. Murdoch shoved Windham into the center of the ring and then charged him with a clothesline that put Barry down hard on the mat. Murdoch smirked as he grabbed two handfulls of hair and pulled Windham to his feet and hooked him for the Brainbuster. Murdoch hoisted him up in the air, but before he could drop him on his head, Windham began to scissor his legs and the momentum sent Barry's feet back down toward the canvas. In one amazingly smooth motion, as he was coming back down toward the mat, Barry threaded his legs in between those of Dick Murdoch and rolled him into an air tight small package. Referee James Beard counted the One, Two, Three and a stunned Murdoch could only watch as Barry Windham had his hand raised. Winner: Barry Windham Jim Ross: Barry Windham may have been playing a bit of possum there! Murdoch looked to be in complete control, but when Murdoch lifted him for the Brainbuster, Windham shifted the momentum, and cradled him for the victory. Bill Watts: Murdoch is still sitting on the mat absolutely stunned. Windham advanced to the semi-finals, and will take on the winner of our main event tonight when Kerry Von Erich takes on David Schultz. Jim Ross: Folks, we are going to take another break, and we'll be back with the Oriental duo of Yatsu and Duk. Don't go anywhere! -Commercial Break- 1 Fall, 15 Minute Time Limit -Kim Duk/Yoshi Yatsu vs Shane Tylor/Alexander Winston- This was a one sided demolition as the Asian duo wiped the mat with the two youngsters. Yatsu first worked over Tylor hitting him with suplexes and applying submissions, before smashing him with a huge Powerslam that could have easily ended the match. Instead he tossed the man into his corner and signaled for his partner to tag himself in. Yatsu then tagged in Duk, who went to work on Winston in much the same way. Chops, suplexes, brutal knee drops and finally an inverted piledriver. Duk then covered the man with a single foot on his chest which was enough for the victory. The crowd in Louisiana boo'ed as the Asians left the ring with sadistic smiles on their faces. Winners: Kim Duk/Yoshi Yatsu Jim Ross: An impressive television debut for the team of Duk and Yatsu as they maul the competition in quick fashion. Bill Watts: Both men had feared reputations when they arrived from the Orient, now that they have combined their skills they will be a hard team to defeat. Jim Ross: Alright folks, we are going to take a commercial break and then we will return with our main event of the evening! -Commercial Break- 1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit -David Schultz vs Kerry Von Erich- Kerry was fired up for this one and started laying in haymakers the moment the bell rang, sending Dr. Dr to the floor where he took full advantage of the referee's count. This repeated several times, until Kerry followed him out to the floor and Schultz took advantage sending Kerry back first into the apron of the ring, and then smashed his head down onto it as well. Schultz tossed Von Erich back into the ring and clamped on a rear chinlock, perfectly happy to slow the pace way down much to the disdain of the fans. Kerry attempted to rally back nailing several elbows into the midsection of Dr. D after working his way to his feet, but Schultz thumbed Kerry in the eye and clamped on a headlock. Kerry managed to shoot Schultz into the ropes, but Dr. D ducked a clothesline and caught a shoulder tackle on the rebound. He covered Von Erich, but only managed a one count. After this, the match went back and forth for a solid ten minutes with both men having control at different points. At around the fourteen minute mark, Dick Murdoch made his way to ringside. It didn't take long for Kevin Von Erich to show up on the other side of the ring to make sure that no shenanigans went down. As you might expect, it didn't take long for Murdoch to get involved. Schultz had been peppering Kerry with punches in the corner, when Kerry nailed him with a huge right hand that sent Dr. Dr staggering backwards out of the corner. Kerry followed it up with a massive Discus Punch that laid Schultz out. Kerry was quick to make the cover, and referee Alfred Neely counted to two before he saw the foot of Schultz on the rope. What he didn't see was Murdoch put it there. Kevin did... Kevin rushed around the ring and actually leapt off the ring stairs to tackle Murdoch which drew a huge cheer from the audience. Murdoch and Kevin began to brawl all over the ringside area. Fists were flying, the timekeepers table was knocked over, chairs were being thrown, and a host of referee's and security were trying to break it up. Alfred Neely was leaning over the ropes screaming for them to get away from ringside as there was a match going on. That's why he never saw Michael Hayes come out of the crowd, slide into the ring, and blast Kerry Von Erich in the back of the head with a chain wrapped around his fist, and head right back out the way he came! As Murdoch and Kevin Von Erich were herded away from ringside, the referee turned around just in time to see David Schultz cover Kerry Von Erich. He dropped down and counted the One, Two, Three. Winner: David Schultz Jim Ross: What a miscarriage of justice! Kerry Von Erich just got his lights turned out by Michael Hayes, and it cost him his chance at the Heavyweight Title Bill Watts: Alfred Neely was trying to get Kevin and Murdoch out of their and never saw it. Unfortunately the decision of the referee is final. Jim Ross: The Fabulous Freebirds have now caused both Kevin and Kerry Von Erich to be eliminated from the tournament by underhanded means. Bill Watts: This war between the Freebirds and the Von Erichs is going to have to end one way or another sooner rather than later. Jim Ross: Dr. D advances in the Heavyweight Title Tournament and will meet Barry Windham in a couple of weeks in the Semi-Finals. Next week we will have Magnum TA taking on Terry Gordy in tournament action as well as The Junkyard Dog versus The One Man Gang. Bill Watts: Two huge matches as we are getting down to the nitty gritty Jim. Jim Ross: Thanks Everyone for watching AWA World Class, we'll see you next week!
  7. Gotta think "The Hammer" is gonna come back gunning for everyone and everything to get that title. Kinda surprised to see Brisco get the spot over Steamboat. But Brisco put down Orndorff and Dusty so you can't say he doesn't deserve it! Killer Brooks and his immediate impact should make for some fun too! Good stuff all around!
  8. Gimme a hundred bucks on Lesnar squashing Kofi then disappearing with the WWE Title until Summerslam.
  9. I was watching the Takeover during Wrestlemania weekend with my buddies and we were discussing how we thought the War Raiders would end up on the main roster since fat, hairy guys who really aren't that big compared to most of the roster doesn't seem like Vince's cup of tea and someone yelled out "I'm Robbie!!" and we all laughed. Seems they were much closer than anticipated.
  10. Great set of shows! Wrestling 2 is a fantastic fit for your territory, and a much needed babyface to help combat Paul Jones growing army! Love Fuller/Golden calling out the obvious with The Assassins! Jones being forced into the ring again seems bad for him, but as we've all been learning, he usually has something up his sleeve. Jake vs Brody.... Nice! --------------------- Hamilton takes the strap in the chain match, makes sense. I'm sure Armstrong will be looking for a return. Humongous takes out the Superstar! Jones has to be loving it. Garvin does what Garvin does and remains champ! I'm loving it!! Brody puts down the Snake then gets attacked by a monster!! Paul Jones is going to be unstoppable soon!!

  12. It's the same company in name only. All of that was booked under the old regime. As much as I don't wanna credit Gabe for everything, the company has really been on a downhill slide product wise since the day he stepped away.

I love the Funker as champion, and having Race vs Bockwinkel to determine the first challenger... Wow. Either guy can headline any territory and they are fighting for a shot! Idol calling Hogan a "Heartthrob wannabe" is fantastic stuff. Definitely looking forward to that one too. Honky/Lawler is gonna be great when it happens. Love it boiling over and costing the Nightmares. Ayala/Atlas is quite the odd couple, but it could lead to some fun matches. I also still can't past the sneaking feeling that one day soon Tully Blanchard is going to turn his attention to that main event scene, and Terry, Harley, and Nick might never see it coming! Good show dude.
  14. In addition to everything Kevin just said above, I love the fact that after reading each spot show result, I find myself going "fans got there moneys worth that night." I also dig the fact that your angles are booked with just enough crossover that Fuller/Golden vs The Midnights doesn't detract from them feuding with Paul Jones Army, because they might have helped The Rat Patrol with the Midnights previously, cause the Patrol helped them against Humongous, etc, etc. Not saying those exact things happened, just illustrating that you've superbly booked things to allow yourself leeway and crossover potential with a huge portion of your roster. It's fantastic stuff.
  15. Great debut for Slaughter! Volkoff holding Nikita back, and Slaugter facing Vokoff first is all great build for the inevitable war. Dr. Death and The Raging Bull against Blackwell and Patera should be an awesome fight. The Hulkster vs Bad News will certainly have me rooting for a new champion!!
  16. -Broadcasting live to our local affiliates in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri, as well as in Syndication across these great United States, the American Wrestling Association proudly presents World Class Wrestling, coming to you this week from the Sportatorium in Dallas!- Jim Ross: Hello Ladies and Gentleman, and welcome to another exciting hour of AWA World Class Wrestling. As always I am Jim Ross joined by "Cowboy" Bill Watts. Bill Watts: We have a ton of action tonight Jim as the first round of the World Class Heavyweight Title tournament comes to a close. Kevin Von Erich take on "Freebird" Terry Gordy in the main event, and up first we have The Great Kabuki and Magnum TA. Jim Ross: On top of that we will see David Schultz and Dick Murdoch in tag team action, Black Bart will be here, and the up and coming team of Brian Blair and Tom Zenk will debut tonight! Bill Watts: Let's head on down to the ring for Magnum and Kabuki. 1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit -Magnum TA vs The Great Kabuki w/Skandor Akbar- Kabuki attempts to nail Magnum TA with a thrust kick as soon as the bell rings, but Magnum is able to avoid it and begins throwing punches. Kabuki is staggered, but manages to catch TA with a thrust to the throat. Kabuki grabs Magnum in a nerve hold underneath his arms, but Magnum stomps his toes to get him to release it. Kabuki throws another kick at Magnum, but TA ducks under it and scoops Kabuki up in a big bodyslam. Kabuki is quickly back to his feet, but is staggered and turns right into the waiting arms of Magnum TA. The Belly to Belly Suplex connects and Alfred Neely counts the One, Two, Three. Winner: Magnum TA After Magnum TA has his hand raised by the referee and rolls to the floor to slap hands with the fans, Skandor Akbar rolls into the ring. As Kabuki gets slowly to his feet, Akbar begins to berate him for his loss. Kabuki stands solemnly with his hair covering his face as Akbar yells, then Akbar rears back and slaps him across the face. Kabuki turns his head back toward his attacker, then flips his hair out of his face and spews the green mist into the face of Skandor Akbar. He then nails him with a Side Thrust Kick! Akbar collapses to the mat, and Kabuki drops into a martial arts pose. Taras and Nazar Bulba come racing toward the ring, and they slide in and stand across from Kabuki. Soon a host of referee's and officials hit the ring, and manage to get Kabuki away from the fallen Akbar. The Mongols quickly check on him, and The Great Kabuki actually gets some cheers as he is escorted to the back. Jim Ross: While they get Akbar out of the ring, we are gonna take a break. We'll be right back to discuss what just happened! -Commercial Break- Jim Ross: Alright, before the break we saw Magnum TA make quick work of The Great Kabuki to advance in the tournament for the Heavyweight Title. Bill Watts: Magnum is one of the favorites in this thing and he showed us all why tonight. Jim Ross: But the story didn't end there. After the match Skandor Akbar went in the ring and berated Kabuki for the loss. Bill Watts: No Jim, he threw one of his little temper tantrums that he is famous for. Only this time he went too far and slapped Kabuki in the face. Jim Ross: Indeed he did, than Kabuki spewed that green mist all over him and hit him with a martial arts kick that laid "The General" out. Bill Watts: It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy Jim. Jim Ross: Let's head back to the ring where the new team of Brian Blair and Tom Zenk are standing by! 1 Fall, 15 Minute Time Limit -Brian Blair/Tom Zenk vs Snake Brown/The Bounty Hunter- Blair and Zenk were on fire from the moment the bell rang just running circles around the masked Bounty Hunter making frequent tags, catching him with armdrags, dropkicks, and bodyslams. Snake Brown tagged himself in on an Irish whip, but he didn't fare any better, getting caught with plenty of flashy double team offense, including a double hip toss, double elbow drops, and a big Double Dropkick that allowed Zenk to cover for the victory. Winners: Brian Blair and Tom Zenk Bill Watts: Brian Blair has been around our sport for some time, but his new partner Zenk is a rookie. Based on what we just saw, they look like they've been teaming together for a long time Jim. Jim Ross: For sure Cowboy, two young impressive athletes that have come together to form a tag team that will certainly be looking to add tag team gold to their resumes. Bill Watts: Well, the first weekend in May, next time we are back here in Texas, we will see the tournament for the World Class Tag Team Titles, and I am certain Zenk and Blair will be part of it. But we will get into more details about that a little later. Jim Ross: Sounds good Bill. Let's head back to the ring where we will see Black Bart in action. 1 Fall, 15 Minute Time Limit -Black Bart vs Jerry Oske- Bart wastes no time in this one, first laying into Oske with some punches. Then whipping him into the ropes and nearly taking his head off with a big boot. A huge scoop slam, an elbow drop, and then the Diving Leg Drop spells the end of this one. Winner: Black Bart Marc Lowrance is standing outside the ring as Black Bart exits. Marc Lowrance: Black Bart, tonight you showe.. Black Bart: MARC LOWRANCE!! TONIGHT I SHOWED THAT I AM SICK OF BEING IGNORED!! Marc Lowrance: Ignored? Black Bart: That's right, IGNORED! A month ago that no good Kerry Von Erich cheated to beat me, and since then ain't no one paid a lick of attention to Black Bart! Well let me tell you something Lowrance. I may have been cheated out of my chance to be the Heavyweight Champion, and my partner Ron Bass may have been cheated out of his chance too. But the two of us hear tell that there is gonna be another tournament to crown Tag Team Champions. Well you'd best believe that me and The Outlaw are coming to win those belts, and ain't nobody gonna stop us. Black Bart storms off to the boo's of the fans as Marc Lowrance shrugs his shoulders. -Commercial Break- When we come back from break, Bill Watts is standing at ringside holding the microphone. "Ladies and Gentleman, I am here on behalf of AWA World Class Wrestling to make an announcement concerning the ongoing tournament for the AWA World Class Heavyweight Championship, as well as announcements regarding the World Class Tag Team Titles and the World Class Television Title! The very next time that AWA World Class is here in Texas, the first weekend in May, we will be having three shows that will see all of the championships decided! First on Friday Night, May 3rd, we will have our television show here at the Sportatorium, and on that night we will have a Battle Royal to crown the first ever AWA World Class Television Champion. Also on that night, the AWA World Tag Team Champions whoever they may be will wrestle here at the Sportatorium. Then the next night on Saturday, May 4th at The Convention Center in Fort Worth we will have the first two rounds of the AWA World Class Tag Team Title Tournament. Sixteen Tag Teams, including the AWA World Tag Team Champions will compete in twelve blockbuster matches. Then on Sunday, May 5th at The Reunion Arena in Dallas, we will have the semi-final and final rounds of the World Class Tag Team Title tournament, as well as the finals of the AWA World Class Heavyweight Title Tournament along with a ton of other great matches. It is going to be a huge weekend for us here at AWA World Class, and we hope that you'll be able to come out and join us!" -Commercial Break- Jim Ross: Welcome back fans, just before the break we had several huge announcements from "Cowboy" Bill Watts regarding an upcoming weekend of action here in AWA World Class that will see us crown not only the Heavyweight Champion, but also the Tag Team Champions and the Television Champion. Make sure you do whatever you can to get down to Texas the first weekend in May and catch all the action. Now let's head to the ring for some tag team action! 1 Fall, 20 Minute Time Limit -David Schultz/Dick Murdoch vs The Island Boys (Tio/Tapu)- Schultz and Murdoch spend the opening minute of the match jawing with the fans in the Sportatorium, then find themselves on the receiving end of a Samoan beat down when Tio and Tapu have had enough! Murdoch and Schultz bail out to the floor to recover, and finally get back in when the ref's count reaches nineteen. The Island Boys manage to get the best of Captain Redneck and Dr. D for several minutes much to the delight of the Dallas faithful, and Tapu even manages a two count on Murdoch after a beautiful splash from the second rope. Finally, Schultz had enough of the Samoans getting the best of them and got mean, resorting to eye gouges, rope choking and throat punching. He finally nailed Tio with his Second Rope Elbow Drop, and then tagged in Murdoch. Schultz ran over and knocked Tapu off the apron, while Murdoch hoisted Tio up and drilled him with a Brainbuster for the victory. Winners: David Schultz/Dick Murdoch Marc Lowrance catches Schultz and Murdoch coming out of the ring. Marc Lowrance: The Island Boys seemed to have things well in hand before you resorted to some underhanded tactics in there David Schultz. David Schultz: Underhanded tactics? Ha! Is that your professional opinion Lowrance? Schultz snatches the microphone out of his hand and shoves Marc Lowrance to the ground. David Schultz: How about when I want the opinion of a microphone stand with a stupid haircut, I'll ask him for it! You understand that jack! Maybe next time you'll show the Doctor a little more respect! NOW! What you saw in that ring tonight was Doctor D and Dick Murdoch letting a couple of boys from some island in the middle of the ocean someplace... have just the slightest bit of hope. We know them boys have a long trip back across the ocean on the raft they sailed here on, and now when they get home they can have a big feast of coconuts and bananas and tell the rest of the natives about the time they came to America and briefly stood toe to toe with the two baddest men on the planet, baby! Dick Murdoch: That's right David. We whooped them two islanders, and next week we'll both be back in this ring whooping some more guys in the tournament for the title. Barry Windham! It's me and you boy. I know you think you're some kind of hotshot, but next week you ain't gonna be so hot when I drop you on your head and eliminate you. Maybe you oughta call your Daddy and have him tell you about Captain Redneck boy. David Schultz: Then after Dick finishes with Windham, I gotta step in the ring with the big hero of Dallas, Texas. Kerry Von Erich.... A huge reaction from the fans in the Sportatorium at the mere mention of his name. David Schultz: Yeah, I know you idiots like him. I hear you out here screaming and carrying on every single time he comes to the ring. I know you hang on his every word when he's out here mush mouthing his way through an interview, talking to that idiot I just threw on the floor. I hear him out here spouting off nonsense about his brother, and Texas, and shotput, and hell I don't know, I don't understand most of it! The boy doesn't talk good! It's like he's got something wrong with him. Sometimes I think one of them horses out there on the Von Erich ranch might have kicked him in the head when he was a kid or something. Then sometimes I think maybe Daddy Fritz and his Old Lady might have also been Brother and Sister or something! I know a lot of that goes on in this part of Texas! The boo's turn to cheers as Kerry and Kevin Von Erich come racing toward the ring. Schultz and Murdoch quickly make an exit out the other side as they do so. -Commercial Break- Jim Ross: Welcome Back Folks! As you saw before the break, we had David Schultz and Dick Murdoch running their mouths, and The Von Erichs showed up to shut them up, but they wanted no part of that fight and high tailed it out of the Sportatorium. Bill Watts: Next week, they will both have a fight on their hands. Round Two of the Heavyweight Title tournament begins, and Kerry Von Erich will get his hands on David Schultz. We will also see Dick Murdoch take on Barry Windham in what is sure to be a brawl. One thing's for sure, both of those men will be a heck of a lot tougher than Marc Lowrance who I am told is doing fine. Jim Ross: Let's head down to the ring where Kevin Von Erich and Terry Gordy are set to meet in the final match of the first round of the World Class Heavyweight Title Tournament. 1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit -Kevin Von Erich w/Kerry Von Erich vs Terry Gordy w/Michael Hayes- The story in the beginning of this one isn't so much the match as the extra-curricular activities. The first several minutes were a series of fist fights intermixed with wrestling moves, with Michael Hayes trying to intervene every time Kevin is in control. Kerry finally had enough and blasted Hayes with a huge right hand, which brought Gordy to the floor to attack Kerry, which brought Kevin to the floor to even the odds. A four way brawl broke out, and Referee Fred Sinclair called for the bell. All four men were left standing on the floor staring up at the referee waiting for a decision. Instead of calling for the DQ or throwing the match out, Referee Sinclair sends both Michael Hayes and Kerry Von Erich to the dressing room and says that if either of them come back to ringside, he will disqualify their partner! Once they have left, the bell rings again and the brawl between Kevin and Gordy is back on. Gordy manages to gain the upper hand with his size and works Kevin over for several minutes with punches, slams, and a big suplex. When he thinks he has things well in hand, he goes for a Piledriver, but Kevin is able to muster up the energy and backdrops Gordy hard to the mat. Both men get to their feet, and Kevin nails Gordy with a big dropkick, and another. Kevin quickly heads to the top rope and sails off with a Turning Cross Body Press and gets the One, Two, Thr...Kick Out! Kevin is a bit shocked that Gordy kicked out, but calls for the Iron Claw as Gordy gets to his feet. He hooks the Iron Claw and before long Gordy has sunk down to his knees, and then down to his side, and finally to his back. Fred Sinclair counts to two, but Gordy manages to drape his leg across the bottom rope. Kevin gets to his feet and is fired up, and the beaten down Gordy rolls out of the ring to the floor. Kevin grabs hold of the top rope and vaults himself out of the ring and lands directly on Gordy, sending both of them crashing to the floor!! The referee begins his count, but is unable to see something that the camera catches... From underneath the ring an arm appears, and it slips something into the hand of Terry Gordy. Kevin is first to his feet, and he grabs Gordy off of the floor and rolls him into the ring. Kevin leaps over the top rope, and again signals for the Iron Claw. He pulls Gordy to his feet by the hair, and Gordy lashes out with a vicious right hand that sends Kevin crashing to the mat. Gordy also collapses back to the mat, quickly concealing something in his trunks. The referee is momentarily taken aback by the change in circumstance, but then begins to lay the count on both men. When he reaches four, Gordy rolls over and begins to crawl toward Kevin who has not moved. Once Gordy reaches him, he crawls on top, mockingly hooks the leg, and the referee counts One, Two, Three. Winner: Terry Gordy Kerry Von Erich comes charging from the back and almost dives underneath the ring, until all we can see are his boots. A few seconds later he comes out and is dragging a struggling Buddy Roberts out from his hiding place! Michael Hayes comes from the back and clubs Kerry in the back with a forearm, and soon Roberts is up on his feet, and Gordy has exited the ring, and all three Freebirds are laying the boots to Kerry, while Kevin is still unconscious in the ring. The Sportatorium erupts as Magnum TA hits ringside with a wooden chair, and waffles Buddy Roberts in the head with it, laying him out and sending shards of wood flying in all directions. Hayes and Gordy turn their attention to Magnum, which allows Kerry to get back to his feet and even things up. The cheers turn to boo's as Dick Murdoch and David Schultz join the fray, grabbing Kerry Von Erich from behind and sending him hard into the ringpost. They then join The Freebirds in laying a four on one beating on Magnum TA. Jim Ross: THIS IS ABSOLUTE CHAOS! Kevin Von Erich is still laid out from whatever hit him. Kerry Von Erich is a bloody mess from being sent into the post, and Magnum TA is being stomped unmercifully by four men!! Bill Watts, and a horde of security and referee's descend on the ringside area to break it up as the show goes off the air. Jim Ross: FOLKS, WE ARE OUT OF TIME, WE'LL SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!!
  17. Slater making short work of some nobody to let people know he means business! Ricky Gibson pulls another one over on Texas Red and the big rookie has gotta be fuming! But experience will get you every time and The Baron and Ricky bring it. I had high hopes for The Glamour Boys in the title match, but The Cowboys just proved too much for them. Between the Cowboys team, and the Spoiler/Red team, I could certainly see Slater hooking up with either outfit to make it a trio. Piper sends Madril packing to Texas, but Buddy Rose not caring may be the most telling part of the whole thing. You have to think Buddy has more back up somewhere if he is that uncaring about losing his ally. Great Show Man! (Though I think the date on it should read March instead of February.)
  18. It certainly seems like they have finally achieved the goal they been chasing ever since Brock hurt their feelings 15 years ago. After years of start and stop pushes and cutting off anyone who dare get themselves over, the talent is inconsequential and interchangable, the WWE brand is the only thing that really matters now, and as you've stated above, speaking out against "the brand" only serves to get you criticized instead of whatever fault or inconsistency you might be pointing out. It's as amazing as it is disheartening.
  19. World Class sends Bob Brown and Buzz Tyler to Atlantic Coast for Barry Horowitz and Mark Fleming
  20. Don't forget a writer quitting before Vince could fire him because Bret Hart told a story involving Vince during his Hall of Fame speech.
  21. You ain't kidding. I went to several shows in Dayton back in the early days and sat front row for dirt cheap, and went to a couple TV tapings in Pittsburgh when they first got TV and it was still cheap. I just looked into the Pittsburgh taping for this weekend. General Admission is 30 bucks, and the best remaining seats are 75 bucks. Then I looked at the meet and greet prices, 30 bucks for individuals (for an 8x10 and a pic with them) and 40 bucks for tag teams or groups. Fuck That.
  22. Lots of happenings here in the Atlantic Coast!! Jay Youngblood takes the ref spot, but may have cost himself any chance at the title for a little bit of revenge. Looking forward to Valentine/Orndorff quite a bit, but I can't say I am happy to see Big Dust already getting a shot at the winner. Missing Link looks to be on the outs with the HoH and thats likely gonna end up a painful place for him. Joint show was awesome. Love see'ing all the stars from the different territories coming in for a nice vacation in the Carolina's! Great stuff man, keep it up.
  23. and I think this is why the fans that have been around for years, and have loved wrestling since they were little kids, and genuinely give a shit, feel so alienated by the product. I sit back and I am astonished week in and week out that the biggest wrestling company on the planet has seemingly forgotten how to book fucking wrestling. They needlessly over complicate every angle and every story to justify having 30 soap opera writers on staff, and do everything in their power to distance themselves from that dirty word "wrestling." Yet, as you've said, in their narrative and in some corners of the internet, I am the bad guy for thinking this way.
  24. I just don't understand how you can bring in Jeff Cobb, PCO, Brody King, Mark Haskins, Tracy Williams, Bandido, Rush, and Zack Sabre Jr and have underutilized folks like Gresham on the roster, and still deliver the same stale, boring product you've been shoveling out for years. Jay Lethal has been on top of the promotion for eons, and unless he is impersonating Randy Savage, is pretty much the poster boy for Meh. If the guy who was third wheel in the stable with Adam Cole and Mike Bennett is what passes for World Title material now, then Yikes. Dalton Castle has potential but they squandered it. The Briscoe's need refreshing in a different environment. Scurll is obviously leaving. Silas Young is about the only guy whose been around, who I think deserves a chance at stepping above current pay grade. If New Japan switches to AEW, I know the company isn't going anywhere because of the Sinclair money, but it is fucked.
