  1. Jake Roberts/Duggan vs Nightmare/Lord Humongous 10/11/85 Jake was the star of the match. We don't get a finish. Jake was great at the start with teasing the DDT, he was great as FIP. He was a great rag doll gaining tons of sympathy. It was great watching him punching the mask of Humongous. Then selling the damage to his hand. Totally dug the eye poke to get seperation, The card it was on 10-11-85 Houston Butch Reed beat NWA Champion Ric Flair dq, Hacksaw Duggan & Jake Roberts beat Humongous & The Nightmare, Ted Dibiase beat Bob Sweetan (Taped Fist match), Dick Murdoch beat Al Perez, Hector Guerrero beat Steve Williams, Fantastics beat Dutch Mantell & Eddie Gilbert, Dick Slater beat Steve Constance, Wendell Cooley beat El Casario
  2. End result Piper doesn't have a podcast anymore.
  3. They won't be in meaningless tags. It will be the Ligers,Komatsus , etc
  4. With the way the shows are set up this year giving the wrestlers more time between matches we won't be getting the killer show after show like we did last year since we'll be getting a steady diet of tags on these shows.
  5. Ric Flair vs Wahoo McDaniel 7/12/85 I believe this has never been seen. This was just a battle. The announcing put their history together so it made sense for this World Title Match to seem more personal. This was gritty. Both guys with brutal chops. Flair's 1st sell of the job was tremendous. His whole body gyrated from the force. Wahoo is 1st to bleed. Not to be outdone, Wahoo takes a bite out of Flair's forehead and spits the plasma out and Flair's bleeding. That was disgusting. I loved this match. A perfect example of non formula Flair. Their wasn't long heat and shine segments. This was just a fight. 4 1/4* This was the card it was on. 7-12-85 Houston NWA champion Ric Flair beat Wahoo Mcdaniel dq, The Guerreros beat Ted Dibiase & Steve Williams, Hacksaw Duggan beat Kamala COR, Fantastics beat Dutch Mantell & Tom Prichard, Ray Candy beat Frankie Lane, Al Perez beat Larry Higgins, Olapido beat Carl Stiles
  6. Thanks a lot.
  7. Who's Thatcher going to work then?
  8. By looking at things, and to make it easy for them to remember what's uploaded. I wouldn't be surprised to see full cards up every 3 months. For example ,the whole 1/7/79 card has been uploaded. 4 of the 10 matches from 12/27/84 has been uploaded.Half of the 1/6/81 card has been uploaded. This is just speculation on my part.
  9. Kerry Von Erich vs Gino Hernandez 12/27/84 This was a really good match. In some earlier Gino we saw this opportunistic young punk who wasn't afraid to throw hands. Here he's morphed into this charismatic, big bumping, stooging heel who's a heat magnet. This was 2 rings and they used them. Gino did some cat and mouse spots. It was a fun back and forth bout. By the end Keryy's bleeding. 3 1/4* I think this might be new. This is the card it's from. 12/27/84 Houston Butch Reed won a 2 ring battle royal, Hacksaw Duggan & Rock & Roll Express beat Ted Dibiase & Steve Williams & Hercules Hernandez, Butch Reed beat Buddy Landell, Kerry Von Erich beat Gino Hernandez, Brad Armstrong beat Ernie Ladd, Kamala beat Billy Jack Haynes, Hector & Chavo Guerrero beat Jose Lothario & Terry Taylor, Iceman King Parsons beat Jack Victory, Terry Daniels beat Dale Veasey, Tim Horner beat Rip Oliver
  10. I just watched this and thought the same thing. This was formula Rock N Roll, but the heels especially Landell really enhanced the formula. Both guys were great at stooging. Landell had a great rope running spot. Landell's sell job of Ito's headbutt was gold. This looks to be new.3* Here's the card it's from 5-25-84 Houston Hacksaw Duggan & Terry Taylor beat Butch Reed & Krusher Darsow (Texas Tornado Barbed Wire match), Magnum TA beat Mr Wrestling II, Hector Guerrero no contest Jose Lothario, Rock & Roll Express beat Buddy Landell & Masao Ito, Barry Orton beat Lanny Poffo, Mark Ragin beat Pat Rose, Tony Torres beat John King
  11. For me I enjoy this and NJ the most with WWE network a distant 3rd because of the lack territory footage.I subscribe to Smash, progress , and ROH right now too. Not UFC. Smash and Progress might get the ax.

I re watched AJ /Okada and liked it a little better . In the 4 1/4* range.
  13. I find star ratings very fluid to me over time. My star ratings usually hover around the same, but it's easy for them to change by 1/4 or 1/2 a star or even more. The more my wrestling viewing grows things I value in a match might change. Thus my star ratings are fluid. Mostly I use them just for my notes. If it's a rainy Saturday I can look in my notes and pop in a match I liked at some time. I watch it and if it changes I reassign it and go on with my life.
  14. Rock N Roll Express/Duggan vs Doc/Dibiase/Hercules 12/27/84 2 1/2* This is a new one. I found this more fun than good, and a match that was suited better live than for people watching it at home. You had a match going on in each ring, while you had one wrestler in between each ring that could tag in and out to each ring. This is a pretty cool premise and wonder if it started in Houston. I will say their is a lot to digest but super fun stuff. This is the card it's on. So it's possible more of these matches will pop up. 12/27/84 Houston Butch Reed won a 2 ring battle royal, Hacksaw Duggan & Rock & Roll Express beat Ted Dibiase & Steve Williams & Hercules Hernandez, Butch Reed beat Buddy Landell, Kerry Von Erich beat Gino Hernandez, Brad Armstrong beat Ernie Ladd, Kamala beat Billy Jack Haynes, Hector & Chavo Guerrero beat Jose Lothario & Terry Taylor, Iceman King Parsons beat Jack Victory, Terry Daniels beat Dale Veasey, Tim Horner beat Rip Oliver
  15. Jose Lothario vs Gino Hernandez 1/19/79 This is a Texas Death match in a cage and it's amazing. Lothario threw a great punch. Gino shined him up real good.Lothario working the arm was great. Gino bumped big,had a good elbow. This was super hate filled. Gino's knee drops were vicious. Watch this match Asap if you're a fan of smart work. They did an amazing job of miliking the drama. 4* This is the card the match is from. 1/19/79 Houston Gino Hernandez beat Jose Lothario cage match, Mark Lewin beat Tiger Conway Jr dq, Nick Kozak drew Bill White, Mike The Big Un beat Eddie Sullivan, Bull Ramos beat Reggie Parks, the Spoiler beat Randy Brewer.
  16. Count me in loving he 1/7/79 Dusty Rhodes vs Mark Lewin 3 1/2* Just a chaotic brawl with double juice. Both guys use plunder. Dusty with a 2x4 put Duggan to shame. This is the card it's from. So guys who wanted whole cards. Every match has been released so far from this show. 1/7/79 Houston Harley Race drew Andre The Giant, Ox Baker beat Gino Hernandez dq, Dusty Rhodes beat Mark Lewin, Billy Graham drew Tiger Conway Jr, Bull Ramos beat Nick Kozak, Mil Mascaras & Jose Lothario drew Dory & Terry Fun

I rewatched Sakuraba vs Shibata and it was such a good match with awesome looking strikes by Shibata, and slick submissions by Sakuraba. Shibata fighting going to sleep was some really good selling.

Tanahashi vs Yano I don't think this match will wipe the stink off the last 2. This feud is over.

The Kingdom vs Gallows/Anderson 0-2 so far in NJPW when it comes to matches. Will the 3rd turn the tide? This is shit. 1/4*

TOGI MAKABE VS. TOMOHIRO ISHII FOR THE NEVER OPEN WEIGHT TITLE This is a stale feud to me. That was Miz level catching. Ishii ain't messing around. Makabe has pussy strikes. Makabe's pussy strikes have gotten worse in this match. Can these guys change it up? Ishii's stuff looks credible. With this style of match you need a dance partner. He can't carry it alone. The shoulder injury is a good sub plot. I liked Makabe's block of the kick. The 1st part of this match was flat out bad. The injury and building drama around it was good. We got a great Ishii performance and a terrible Makabe performance. 2*

Omega vs Kushida I wonder what Omega I'm going to get. I love the watch and pointing to the belt bit. Omega bumps pretty damn hard. The Bucks tapping the Terminator theme was great. Kushida's screams of pain are actually chilling. Omega working the knee is good, his antics are a bit over the top. Kushida's selling is off the chart. Omega's work on the leg was good. Kushida's comebacks where he doesn't sell the leg hurts the match. Kushida using his arm bar as a counter point and keep going back to it was fantastic. 3 3/4*

Shibata vs Sakuraba The interactions these guys have had have been really interesting and fun. The mat work is lightning quick. Sakuraba's elbows are nasty. Front guillotine by Sakuraba got the crowd. Fuck is Shibata blasting Sakuraba. Now Sakuraba's kicks look crappy. This was a mixed bag for me. Parts I liked, some not so much. 2 3/4* I was fading a little bit so I'll give it a rewatch.

BAD LUCK FLAE & YUJIRO TAKAHASHI VS. TETSUYA NAITO & TOMOAKI HONMA Naito as Raven has been fun on this tour. Honma is making Fale look good. I like Naito with the low drop kicks to Fale. This was an odd duck match since it's a cog in the story telling machine. Honma is such a sympathetic worker.
