  1. A good angle trying to position JYD as a player. I thought King looked like he had some charisma as an underdog baby face.
  2. This was a good match that was not quite as good as the Muto match which surprised me since Choshu and Hash match up better stylistically.
  3. I thought the match was alright. At one point you could actually see Borne working for 2 here when he put Kerry on top of him. Still Percy was made the focal point. The booking here makes Kerry pretty unlike able. 1st Borne turns on him, and then Percy . I loved the aftermath of this.
  4. My point that I was making is that was the rep he had. That rep carried over. You know when you make that 1st impression, that is the impression that sticks. It is obvious that his high end work us as a brawler. Yet he also had a lot of finesse when it came to his bumping.
  5. Plus Dibiase was thought of as a future NWA champ. The NWA champ was thought to be a technical master by the general public and probably wrestlers. Plus his run in St. Louis gave him a rep as a technician. So I think these assumptions over time became truths. Looking at the footage he is a great brawler.
  6. Also citing Duggan or any wrestler you have to take with a grain of salt. If you look at a lot of these shoots . The guys have a hard time remembering their career. Let's not even talk about someone else's career.
  7. I thought this was a way abbreviated that the 2 men have with one another. The run in is the total highlight of this. Lawler and Tatum ping ponging for Adams and Jarrett looked great. Tatum must have had a horrible rep not to get a shot in Crockett. His work and personality from this set and his Mid-South and earlier WCCW run seems like he deserved a shot their.
  8. I thought the mat work here was really tremendous. I feel the GOAT it does deserve consideration.
  9. I thought this was a solid bout. Nothing really that I'd remember a week later.
  10. This is awesome. Their are so many great nuances weaved throughout this. Though I thought Taue might be trying to steal the spotlight from Misawa.
  11. Rocky King man a blast from the past.
  12. I have 4 figures and the ring they were showing. I picked them up when I back packed across Mexico when I graduated High School in 91. I went to a few Lucha shows when I was down there. The figures are hand painted.
  13. Borne really is good at working a brawl. Kerry is good here too. The match had a big time feel to it, but fails to deliver.
  14. This starts hot. The working holds was well done. I wish Muto would have sold his leg a biy better in the middle, because at the end his selling of the leg was great. That no touch rope dive toward the finish was awesome. I loved how Choshu kept going to his hold to finish Muto, plus it keeps Muto strong by taking it a few times to finish him.
  15. Just watch his Japan stuff, stuff with Flair and Blackwell. I'll really have to get on the ball and watch my Brody best of to give you specifics. You do have your work cut out for you. I mean in last 4 years Will has watched probably all of what is on tape of Brody in Japan in the 80's. So you need to be specific. Not just blanket statement.
  16. If I saw that and had my own remote control I'd fast forward through that crap.
  17. That's a really good point Ditch. Still won't make up his lack if selling.
  18. 1.Ricky Steamboat I have always enjoyed watching Steamer perform. His matches always made sense to me. He would work hard for veterans, he would work hard for up and comers. 2 Ric Flair He was always entertaining one way or the other. He was awesome on the stick. The master of making chicken salad out of chicken shit. 3. Stan Hansen The greatest brawler. You would always cringe because his stuff was so tight. 4. Jerry Lawler The king of versatility . Great as a heel or face. Just an amazing talker. He might be the best ever at getting angles over . Just amazing schtick 5. Bobby Eaton He was the most underrated ever superstar when it comes to work. Just amazing bumper who wants to always have a great match.
  19. Fun power match. It was a tad sloppy with repeated spots after a move was blown. The slopiness took it down a peg.
  20. I thought the tag was excellent. The work the MX did working over Pillman's throat and neck was great. The MX double teams were really good. The crowd was pretty tame for the bout though. I never understood why the announcer's never mentioned the loaded boot in 1990 or 2012.
  21. By far the beat match the 2 have had. I totally dug that Austin is so green he forgets about the wire when he tries to bale. Finish was pretty good too.
  22. This was well done. I laughed 20 years ago. Laughed again last night.
  23. Kerry and his eyes looked like he took a bump of crack before he hit the ring.
  24. I was blown away by this. It had me at the edge of my seat.
