  1. Dusty vs Ken Patera This was a match that had both guys working really hard. Patera is a guy who a lot of people have missed the boat on or have forgotten what a great performer he was. From 78-82 he was one of the best heels in wrestling. Dusty is one of the all time great babyfaces. So put peanut butter and jelly together and the results will be good. The pace in the 1st fall is a lot quicker than I was anticipating. I loved all of Patera's mannerisms through out the match. Right off the back Patera is softening up the neck for his finisher. Dusty counters with some real fun arm work and both guys are really game here. The 1st fall did a good job of laying the ground work for the match. The 2nd fall had some real interesting stuff to it. For starters Patera works over Dusty's leg to slow him down. Dusty sold this really well. Then Patera goes back to the neck. He was constantly trying to hook on the Full Nelson. Eventually he goes for the bear hug, and the guys do some real interesting stuff with the bear hug. The 3rd fall and you're wondering what type of screwy finish might be up the booking sleeves. Overall though these guys had a great match 3 1/2*

  3. Great Malenko vs Paul Boesch What a great comedy match. Malenko was incredible in his roll in stooging, comedy spots were great. On top of It Malenko on commentary was tremendous. Boesch was good in his role as local hero, but Malenko carried this. The interactions he had with the ref was pure gold. I was legit laughing the whole entire time. It had a very vaudville feel to it. 8 million stars. Also the news interview with Boesch was awesome, and I always pop at the earring commercial.

  6. Haha for sure. Plus Brody was 't a fan of selling for brawlers in the 218 lbs range.
  7. It's up and we get a news report and the infamous jewelry commercial to.
  8. That 3rd fall looked to be part of an all time classic. This was just intense and incredible story telling. I popped big how Funk took Race down to set up the spinning toe hold. I really hope you uncover the 1st 2 falls. Plus Funk's promo sets up another match.
  9. The promo Bruce released is a different Funk/Race match .
  10. That's the title change from Toronto
  11. Johnny Valentine vs Wild Bull Curry (Houston Wrestling) This was something I was looking forward to when Bruce posted the list. Johnny Valentine matches are very rare. I loved both wrestlers here. Johnny has a special aura about him, and Curry has a face only a mother and also a wrestling fan. Valentine would try to slow the pace. Curry was great with his facals while in holds. He really put over the pain. The 1st time Curry gets a flurry of punches in and the crowd goes wild. The punch exchanges here are the best I've ever seen. These looked like something out of a prize fight. You get how Johnny is a master of crowd psychology. He takes them down, then takes them up with the wild fighting. Again the punches in this need to be seen. When Johnny becomes a bloody mess this takes it over the top as a classic. The match ends up as a wild brawl. This is totally chaotic and out of control. Great stuff, with a super heated crowd. 4 1/2*

  13. Looking forward to see how the crowd reacts to Johnny, and am foaming at the mouth for the Funk-Race bout.
  14. Jack Brisco vs The Spoiler This was a great match. Both guys skills were on display here. The early part is they work a standing headlock. This was well worked with both guys working and reacting to it. This was so well done. The Spoiler did so many neat touches like putting his foot on the rope for leverage. Eventually Jack counters it and begins working the Spoiler's back. He's stomping away at the back. Turns him into the Boston Crab. Jack moves up into the headlock. Spoiler escapes and takes it to the ropes and uses them to inflict pain on Jack's neck. The story has been pretty simple with Spoiler focusing all of his offense on Jack's neck. You know the motto chop off the head, the body will fall. Spoiler furthers the story by snapping Jack's neck off the rope. Jack is selling this all great and fighting underneath . You really seeing Jack as the blueprint to the Steamboats and Martels of the world. Now Spoiler goes for the claw. Brisco is great at selling the claw. Eventually he counters it with an atomic leg breaker to get him some seperation. Now Jack is working over the leg with leg dives and other effective work. Jacks looks to be going for the Figure 4. Spoiler is fighting him so Jack has to go for the 1/2 crab instead. Not to be out done Spoiler goes for the claw, Jack counters by attacking the leg . The battle here is super intense. Jack turns it into the Figure 4. The finishes of the falls are interesting. If you're a fan of working holds this match has it in spades. 3 3/4*

  16. No, tags and part of the title change in Toronto.
  17. You're the man!!!
  18. Holy moly. Brisco vs the Spoiler!!!!
  19. 5/31/16 NJPW Kyle O'Reilly vs Taguchi 4 1/4* It's a battle for match of the night folks. We get some early grappling. O'Reilly on the arm and that is going to be his narrative for the match. Taguchi is using his butt offense mixed in with some good leg work. I liked the touch of O'Reilly shaking the leg out. O'Reilly's arm work was really nifty. Late in the match O'Reilly nails Taguchi with one of the nastiest knees I've seen. Then we move along to the finish which I was in awe of. The limb work in this was well done. The match was also able to make me smile to boot. Their is a natural aversion to Taguchi, but he's bringing it in the BOTSJ.
  20. 5/31/16 NJPW Kushida vs Gedo 4 1/4* Manischewitz was this great. Gedo with a cheapshot right off the bat. Kushida makes him pay with some nasty arm work. I marked big for Kushida's switching arm bar. Gedo's selling of the arm is so great. I love the Gedo and Jay White interactions too. Gedo works the back with the exposed buckle. Gedo follows that up with a cross face with all his weight on Kushida's back. Kushida delivers a payback spot with the exposed buckle. Kushida back to the arm and they go into a pretty great finishing run. 4 1/4*
  21. Jake vs Humongous This ruled. The crowd is hot right off the bat. I loved how to counter act Humongous Jake had his own hockey match. Loved Jake attacking Humperdink pre match before Humongous to get in the match. The early portion we get a Jake shine. This is short lived though. Humongous just decimates him. He tears off his hockey mask and destroys Jake with the cage. This all ultra violent stuff with Jake bleeding big time. Humongous uses all the weapons at his disposal and is a great monster. Jake attempts a comeback by using his boot and delivers a DDT. Humongous kicks out of the DDT! Then we see him do the Undertaker sit up 6 years before him. Humongous beats on him some more till Champion throws a chair into the ring. This allows Jake to DDT Humongous onto the chair and steal the win. This match had great crowd heat, told a story, and match psychology . 3 3/4*

  23. 5/30/15 Jushin Liger vs Ricochet 4 1/4* Man I'm not sure if Ricochet had something to prove that he's more than a flippy guy. Well he showed that here in spades. I loved this match. Ricochet was after Liger's neck. We'd get that for a few minutes and then we'd get a Liger comeback only to get cut off. Rinse and repeat that a few times. Liger's comebacks work so well because he has so many over moves from palm strikes, to koppo kicks, brain busters, or rolling sentons. So his comebacks have more equity to them. Then we move into the finishing stretch. We get a lot of near falls mixed into the drama of Liger making the ropes while Ricochet had him hooked into is grounded octopus. Finally after a few of those Liger had to finally tap out. Ricochet's offense was on point after Liger's neck, and Liger was so good at aelling it. The highspots were the window dressing. The story was neck work and the drama that it caused. Both guys were great here.
  24. That explains a lot.
  25. One thing I do with that is I'll go to my computer and pause it and where I need it to be and the Roku will pick up where it's at.
