Thornton vs Gino Thornton is a guy who has a good resume of classic title matches with Dynamite Kid, Tiger Mask , and Tony Charles the Checkmate. Here he works Gino and this is worked in a whole different manner than he is used too. Gino is just a master at getting heat just riling up the crowd and being a cheating bastard. This was the best we've seen Hart on the footage. He truly came across as a threat to Les. I loved Les leg work and it played into the first fall. The 2nd fall Gino is cheating bastard stage. The 2nd fall is Gino just working over Thornton. The 3rd fall Gino is on top for a bit. Thornton makes a comeback and he's pissed. No more technical wrestling for him. He's throwing hands. Eventually though Gino gets DQ'ed. This was a blast.

Gymnastics in pro wrestling/the Ricochet-Ospreay/Vader drama

One thing to take away from this. The match has had a lot of people who's opinions people take pretty serious from Regal, to Brian James, and even Jim Ross has watched and commented on the match. Most of them have put over how athletic it was, and mentioned how much better it would have been if their was more selling involved. I guarantee someone like an impressionable youngster like Ospreay is going to listen to a Jim Ross type. It's only going to make him better. Will is developing. His selling has improved this year. It's still a flaw in his game, and now that his match has been critiqued hopefully he'll incorporate the suggestions in his wrestling. -
My last thought would be since you have the Freebirds pictured on the website would WWE try something since Michael Hayes works for them.

The chronological thing doesn't bother me because I do a list here of one of what is uploaded daily and one on date order.

I like the new site. Still wish the matches were in some form of chronological order. Love all the sub categories llike famous feuds and World Title matches.

Wrestling matches are worked for the time and place. Meltzer tweeted out that people complained about Steamboat and Flair did too much in 78. Those matches became timeless though. Time will tell on Richichet/Ospreay. My guess would be no. To me truly great wrestling stands the test of time. -
Dusty vs Ivan Koloff This just popped up on nwaclassics.com. I thought this was a fun little brawl. Ivan was great at bumping and making Dusty look good. Dusty had a lot of energy here. This was super heated with the crowd. Dusty vs Foreign Menace has been a big draw. They are both busted open. I didn't quite understand why we had Texas Death Match rules if the finish was putting your opponent in the coffin. Still the crowd ate this up, and it was different. 3*

Paul Boesch vs George Harris the 3rd This is 5 billion stars. This was such a great comedy match. Made even better by Boesch commentary. George Harris the 3rd is the overweight manager of Bronco Lubich. Watching this match I need to find out more about him. His facials and timing was on point. He was really theatrical. Paul had his moments too. The icing on the cake was post match Boesch makes fun of him in slow mo.

That sounds like a joy.

I'm with Johnny , but have Jericho fail on the cash in and let it be his swan song.

Famous B to me was much better in vignette. He hasn't translated live to me.

Yeah , said his most recent match was against Mil and that isn't always easy, and he laughed.

I'm at the space city comic con . I went by and talked to Hacksaw Duggan talking to him about being the most over babyface in Houston and nwaclassics.com. I showed him my Houston Wrestling program book . He looked through for a good 10 minutes. He put over Gino, Doc ,Gordy, and the Stomper. He even called his wife over and goes you've never seen Gino before.

This is from June. Furnas is a football legend in the area. The criss cross spot and cross body was insane. This isn't even remotely worked Southern Style. Furnas is selling his leg. Gordy delivers a brain buster on the floor. 2 3/4* Post match we get some Ron Wright cutting a killer promo.

This is for Nelson Royal's light heavy weight belt. Royal is the traveling champion here. Royal uses rough house tactics early. Everything Royal does resonates. Now Royal is on the bike. Royal is a pretty good heel here. Armstrong focusing on the arm. Royal back to the leg dead legging the fuck out of Scott. Physically Royal is past his prime, but damn is he so could at the little things to get heat. Fun finish to a time limit draw. This was well executed and a nice piece of business. 3* The Match Then we get a fun angle the next week. Clearly this isn't over.

ROH very rarely does house show squashes unless it's local talent putting over ROH talent.

I'm with you Chad that Ricochet vs Bobby Fish match just didn't click. I see in some circles it getting a lot of love. I found it aimless , and lacking heart. So what if Ricochet hit a couple of nice high spots. His work on top was pretty unispiring.

I totally mis judged this match. Dick Slater vs Mongolian Stomper I re watched this match and really missed the boat. First fall Stomper is using some basic heel stuff to get the crowd louder and louder. He kept grabbing his ears because the noise was hurting his ears. On top of that Carson was getting on the mic telling the crowd to keep it quiet. They were getting heat right off the bat. Eventually the physical work begins and it's Slater all over Stomper's arm. Slater's arm work is pretty violent. He even throws headbutts to the arm. Stomper is pretty great at eating all of the arm work. Eventually though Slater throws a couple of head butts to Stomper and this kind of stuns Slater. This allows Stomper to take control and his offense is very violent. Stomper is working over Slater's head. He's kicking it, smashing it into the ring post, and locks on a claw. This claw was about the most violent way to apply it. This looked like it could crush a baseball. In a really nice touch, Stomper releases the claw and smashes Slater's head into the ring post and puts the claw back on for the finish. Slater is busted open and bleeding big time. Fall 2 Stomper is destroying the cut. Again with stomps, head smashes, knees, and the claw. Slater gets a great hope spot in only to get cut off by the Stomper. Slater though is able to sneak in a victory with a small package. Fall 3 This is a brawl. In the ring out of the ring. Both guys are bloody as hell. This is totally out of control. The crowd is on it's feet. Carson is on the mic speaking Mongolian to the Stomper. Both guys are just beating the holy hell out of each other. Some of the other wrestlers are out and try to stop the Stomper to no avail. Man this was such a battle. 4*
