  1. I re watched this match and really missed the boat. First fall Stomper is using some basic heel stuff to get the crowd louder and louder. He kept grabbing his ears because the noise was hurting his ears. On top of that Carson was getting on the mic telling the crowd to keep it quiet. They were getting heat right off the bat. Eventually the physical work begins and it's Slater all over Stomper's arm. Slater's arm work is pretty violent. He even throws headbutts to the arm. Stomper is pretty great at eating all of the arm work. Eventually though Slater throws a couple of head butts to Stomper and this kind of stuns Slater. This allows Stomper to take control and his offense is very violent. Stomper is working over Slater's head. He's kicking it, smashing it into the ring post, and locks on a claw. This claw was about the most violent way to apply it. This looked like it could crush a baseball. In a really nice touch, Stomper releases the claw and smashes Slater's head into the ring post and puts the claw back on for the finish. Slater is busted open and bleeding big time. Fall 2 Stomper is destroying the cut. Again with stomps, head smashes, knees, and the claw. Slater gets a great hope spot in only to get cut off by the Stomper. Slater though is able to sneak in a victory with a small package. Fall 3 This is a brawl. In the ring out of the ring. Both guys are bloody as hell. This is totally out of control. The crowd is on it's feet. Carson is on the mic speaking Mongolian to the Stomper. Both guys are just beating the holy hell out of each other. Some of the other wrestlers are out and try to stop the Stomper to no avail. Man this was such a battle. 4*
  2. I've really enjoyed the matches so far. One thing that really stood out to me so far was how smart the work has been.
  3. Mongolian Stomper vs Dick Slater This was a weird match. I thought the 1st fall was rather dull. It had it's moments, but the finish set up the excitement for the rest of the match. Stomper goes over the 1st fall with the claw and it bloodys up Slater. The 2nd fall Stomper is attacking the cut. Now this is more like it. Slater though steals the fall. The 3 rd fall is tremendous and a wild double juice brawl. This was hate filled, and both guys were going after the cuts. Overall I'm not sure how I feel about this match.

  5. 5/22/15 WWE Roman Reigns vs AJ Styles 4 3/4* Man what a way to end this feud. To be honest I still want more. This had so many great things. This had just stiff work. Incredible spots. Some holy shit bumps. The brawling in the crowd seemed personal. Even the use of the chair was so well done. The chair was used and had impact, but didn't numb you to it. The story telling was great. When Reigns hurt his leg you though if Styles capitalized on it he could pull off a victory. The work really sucked you into the drama. I wish Styles would have worked the leg though. Great stuff.
  6. 5/22/15 WWE Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens vs Miz vs Cesaro 4 1/4* This is for the IC title. This was hot action, big moves, and great drama. All the little angles with the wrestlers helped with the match by marinating the stories. The Zayn/Owens dynamic right off the bat and bam we're off and running. Miz was great in his role as attempting to steal the the win. Eventually he did and it added a lot to the match. All 4 guys looked on point in this match. The action was great, but it was the story and drama that put it over for me.
  7. 5/21/15 NJPW Kushida vs Kyle O'Reilly 4 1/2* I really liked this. I loved how they incorporated the grappling with athleticism with some fun spots mixed in. The bread and butter of the match was Kushida focusing on the arm to try to lock on the Hover Board Lock. Kyle worked the leg. So this was right up my alley. O'Reilly was incredible here. It seemed when Kushida was about to go off the reservation , O'Reilly cut him off and did more damage to the leg. I liked how Kushida's selling got bigger and bigger as the match progressed. I think Kushida has been having a great year and a guy I could see as my wrestler of the year when it comes to workrate. I've been a fan of O'Reilly for the last few years. I actually wished NJPW had pushed O'Reilly in the Styles spot over Omega.
  8. Jose Lothario vs Killer Karl Krupp This was pretty interesting. I'd say it was one of the better Krupp matches I've seen. I will admit I don't seek him out though. From a story telling perspective this worked. Though some of the story telling could have been more dynamic. I loved Krupps early arm work. I especially loved the hammerlock pin attempts. I enjoyed Lothario's one arm comeback. Then Krupp shifts to the nerve hold. This was just there. Though Lothario tried to make it work by showing some fire. I liked Lothario's jabs to try to get some seperation. Eventually, Krupp catches him with the claw. The 2nd fall Krupp is attempting the claw again. Lothario turns the tide and and starts working over his claw hand. I especially loved Lothario's knee to the claw hand. The finish was pretty great with Krupp leaping from the top rope into a Super sock punch. The 3rd fall leads to a double count out. I loved the postmatch with both guys fighting and trying to get in for the psychological win. 2 3/4*
  9. Gino vs Lewin This has Gary Hart in a cage. Lewin is really effective as a brawling walking tall baby face. Gino is a perfect foil for him. Gino could bump and stooge and eat Lewin's offense. Early on Gino busts open Lewin. Gino did a good working it over. I thought Lewin's comeback was done with a lot of energy. Gino is busted open and Lewin works the cut. I loved the finish of the 3rd fall. The post match with the cage was a great way to get the heat back. 3 1/2*

  11. Parv no selling Chad's Rotundo joke. Lol
  12. Sorry Mick. I can barely remember my bday .
  13. I always got a chuckle out of Hogan's 94-95 run . The fans reject him really off the bat except for ppv buys early. They keep Sting pretty much off shows Hogan is on. They neutered Vader and made Flair a cross dresser .
  14. I'm really liking the booking of the Reigns/Styles program. The umbrella story telling with bringing in the Usos and the Club has a real Crockett and Dusty feel to it. I even think the 6 mans can mean something on ppv. You can even work the Wyatt's into the feud. They've really booked something that has layers to it.
  15. Mixed Tag This was a really fun undercard/special attraction match. Cheatam is a great heel name to boot. The shine was a lot of fun . They did some fun comedy. With the payoff being Casey stealing smooch from Martin. I thought the heat on Martel was done well. Martin did a good job working the arm. Martel has such an expressive face that you bought into her peril. When she tags out she's still selling the arm. I liked Cheatam attaxcking the woman , thought it would get more heat. Finish was pretty fun too. 2 1/2*

  17. Just like Mil Muertes and Matanza look like monsters in LU. It wouldn't work at the WWE.
  18. I'm a guy who thinks Elgin has improved, their is no way he could be booked as a monster in the WWE.
  19. That's actually a good idea.
  20. I'd say maybe Feb. 92 should do it . Start at the weekend before Superbrawl should get you the key stuff except the Rude-Sting Dynamic.
  21. http://placetobenation.com/this-week-in-wrestling-51416/ Fall 1 Pete and Johnny look at the nwaclassics.com match of Nick Bockwinkel vs Ricky Morton 7/2/82 Fall 2 Pete and Timothy discuss Lucha Underground. Then look at the ROH ppv. Then finish up with the most current RPW and Progress show. Was Michael Elgin vs Zach Sabre Jr match a MOTYC? Which show was the best? Fall 3 Pete and Johnny laugh at Camp WWE and the Edge and Christian show. They also discuss the latest table for 3. They also break down NXT and RAW. Who do the guys think is the best feud going. Is it Samoa Joe vs Balor or Styles vs Reigns. The boys pick their favorite. What promotion from the past does The Club vs The Family remind them of booking wise?
  22. According to the reports sent into Meltzer for tv tapings he turned.
  23. 4/24/16 CMLL Negro Casas vs Rey Hechicero 4 1/4* This was great. The mat work was suburb with a real struggle and consequences. The finishes I thought were all credible.
  24. That was too sad.
  25. Dynamic Duo vs Mil Mascaras/El Gran Apollo Another Dynamic Duo tag and another good match. I know Goc in his fantasy league was wanting to make El Gran Apollo his latin star of his promotion. So my thoughts on Apollo. He has a great look, solid charisma, his moveset was limited, needs work in his FIP work, needs to tighten up some of his work, has a good drop kick and forearm, and worked the apron well. Mil in Houston has bemuch better than I've seen in NY, Dallas and other areas besides Japan. I loved the Duo stooging for him and shining him up. I loved Mil's screwdriver to the ears of Tully trying to cauliflower them. Mil's reverse Dragon Sleeper made me pop. Apollo's FIP work in the 1st fall didn't show enough vulnerbility. I loved how Gino just beat Mil's ass in the 2nd fall. I liked how it continued in the 3rd fall. Mil's FIP work was done well. The hot tag to Apollo was really good along with the early teases. We get a good post match brawl with Ken Lucas where the ref reverses his decision and DQ's the Dynamic Duo. That was a crappy finish. 3 1/4*
