I'm a sucker for the manager in the shark cage above the ring. It never fails to dissapoint, and helps the box office. Jake/Slater might be my favorite Jake feud. We see Jake target the arm. I like how Jake gets the gimmick over and keeps Journey relevant in the match. We see Jake using the post to soften up the arm. I'm a mark for limb work so this is heaven for me. Loving how Jake keeps going back to the arm. Slater with an eye rake, and he returns the favor and works Jake's arm. Slater wearing out Jake's arm with a chair. Crowd is totally with Jake. Jake is incredible selling that arm. We see Jake's boot come into play. Journey tosses a chain to Slater, but Jake gets it. He goes to use it but Slater back drops him out of the ring. Slater wallops Jake for the win. Super fun match, with some real good arm work and selling. 3 3/4*

Grimmas that would work on an NXT special. Not for mania. Angle and Taker have a long history. Angle is considered a WWE legend by a lot of fans. No way they could make Joe that viable. It would be so much easier to make it work with Angle.
-
I could think of 50 guys I'd rather see enter as a surprise in the Rumble. Could you name 50 that have a history with the company, that would mean something for Mania?

6 man tag I loved this match. It was for the Johnny Valentine Cup. This was the Houston 2 ring special. This was all action Gino is sporting the blond hair. Kerry already is an incredible athlete here working a really fast pace. We see Kerry with an adominal claw which is how all the brothers start with till they master the head claw. Conway jr. looking really good throughout the match. In a pretty cutting edge spot Conway Jr. with an Ohtani boot scrape. I loved all of the Lothario/Gino interactions, especially the punches. Gino was the glue to his team. Gino telling Tiger to shine his shoes was heated. Kerry duplicating the 2 ring dive that Kevin did was great just as Paul was telling the audience the story. Seeing Brooks miss a running elbow and go flying out of the ring was gold. This turned into a pretty spirited brawl. The faces win 2 falls to 1. Post match the heels turn on Marcus . Super fun 6 man tag. 3 3/4*

Yep Ring of Hell. No way does he do that.

Was there any time in its existence when TNA had the more family friendly product than WWE? Well it's more percption than reality. WWE vulgar stuff made headlines. TNA flew under the radar. So for the majority of people the WWE was more vulgar.

Murdoch vs Gordy This was worked differently than I was expecting. Still I enjoyed it. I loved Gordy bumping huge for Dick's Bionic Elbow. Murdoch's arm work was really well done. Gordy threw some nasty punches in this.I also enjoyed Gordy's standing headlock a lot in this. The one from the mount position was beyond nasty. Murdoch even busted out a flying head scissors. This was a real good meat and potatoes match. The finish was a little anti climatic.Though the punches in this were awesome and Gordy bumped big for Murdoch's punches. 3*

I rewatched the Shibata vs Ishii match and liked it better this time. The flaws are still their . Let me sit down while you kick me, ok my turn. A lot of your turn my turn. A lot of kick outs at 1. Both guys throwing Germans only to get 1 counts. The uneccesary head butts. They did a lot of choices I didn't like. Then it had drama. It was hard hitting. A lot of damn moments. The triangle spot. Overall the good outweighed the bad for me. Though to be honest they walked a close line to losing me. 3 3/4*
-
Man this is a match I've been waiting for.
-
Shows an insecurity to boot.
-
Well it's easy for them to do so without a voice to debate them. I'm undefeated when I don't have an opponent to argue against me.
-
I caught the last 3 matches. Ishii vs Shibata wasn't my type of match. I'm not a fan of dick measuring wrestling which a lot of this match was. Those head butts were totally uneccesary. I'm a guy who likes the work to be compelling. For me it lacked. 2 1/2* Nakamura vs Styles I thought this was really well worked. I liked the early pacing. AJ playing opossum with the back was gold. AJ working the leg has tons of drama. The spot where AJ was caught in a triangle and delivered a 1 arm Styles Clash was epic. I loved all of Nak's back work . Wish he would have made it more of a priority down the stretch. 4 1/2* Okada vs Tanahashi The heat at the start was awesome. I liked how they started slow and made everything mean something. I loved all the different counters. I loved Tanahashi targeting the leg. I thought Okada's selling of it was phenomenal. I hated that Okada shit canned all that work every time he went on offense because his offense was leg based. Still the drama in the match made up for the lack of selling the limb. It keeps it out of an elite range, but still a strong match. The match had flaws, but the drama outweighed it for me. I've also begun to realize NJPW doesn't put the emphasis on limb selling as I do because the wrestlers in the company has been consistent in how the disregard leg work or selling. 4*

Terry Taylor vs Steve Williams 8/31/84 This was a solid match. We see Doc with a mean looking headlock take over on Taylor. It had a real nasty looking snap to it. Then at times he really works it aggressively. We see Taylor after the arm. Doc sells it spot on.Doc tosses Taylor to the outside and pursues him. Doc works a pretty nasty front face lock. Taylor eats a UFC level knee from Doc. Doc did a KOTM spot and makes it important. Taylor steals a pin. Post match Doc leaves him bloody in a great angle. 2 1/2*

Agreed. Although admittedly, I am tired of the Tanahashi/Okada feud, the matches are always good, so it's hard to hate on it. I'm tired of a lot of the NJ match ups, but they seemed to really try with some new ones underneath.
