  1. This is in so many ways the most fascinating feud in wrestling to me. Silas would have been the clear babyface at one point in history, Dalton the clear heel. It's booked like an 80s feud, but the roles are reversed because we live in a different time. Even the announcers don't know how to call it.
  2. Actually Dalton didn't say his property. He said the boys need to be back where they belong.
  3. I want to hear Parv's thoughts on Reed/Wrestling 2.
  4. For me promos will come in affect as tie breaking measures for US workers. So they'll come into play , but as tie breakers.
  5. I agree the talking went long in that segment, but the fight at the end was a ton of fun , and did what it needed to do. Reigns standing tall on the verge of winning the title. NXT worked because the heel left the babyface champion laying at the end.
  6. When I met Piper he had a long line. So I wasn't going to hit him up with small talk. Yet he wanted to talk to his fans. He asked why I came to the con, and asked how my family was doing, where I was from. He didn't have to do that. He came across as a class act.
  7. Butch Reed vs Wrestling 2 9/9/83 These guys have a lot of history. Wrestling 2 and TA feuded with Reed and Neidhardt for the tag belts. The match is super fun before they even lock up. Wrestling 2 uses his speed advantage to start. A Million Dollar Knee Lift stuns Reed and he takes a powder.Wrestling 2 has a headlock on Reed. Reed tries to toss 2, but he holds onto the front face lock. Huge Knee lift from the 2nd rope and Reed is reeling. Wrestling 2 runs into a Reed knee to set up the heat. Elbow drop by Reed. Reed is using his weight on 2. Wrestling 2 tries to rally, but Reed tugs him down by the mask. Wrestling 2 showing tons of fire underneath, Reed pulls the mask again. Reed using his weight on the rope. Reed has been good working the neck. Reed transitions to working the knee. Which is 2's biggest weapon. Reed posts the knee and wraps it around the post. Wrestling 2 hits the knee and crumbles like he's been shot. Reed hits him with the spear for the win. What a really smartly worked match. It made sense, total a great story, and had plenty of action. 4*

  9. Gotcha. I took it the wrong way.
  10. Well she says give us a proper review. When using the term us it implies she's part of the group. If she worded wrong so be it. Judy's statement implies she is part of Lapsed Fan.
  11. If you do get through the 84 podcast give us a proper review, I know its an investment of time but surely its a better way to gauge a podcast. There are a lot of podcasts that are "lightweight" but still a decent listen So Judy by this last statement I'd assume you are one of the lapsed fans. By using the term us. To me the whole thread is kind of disingenuous. Do what everyone else who does a podcast and post their podcast here on the board. Post it and let people comment.
  12. I thought Bruce said they weren't going forward with one unless the price was right. All those Indies like Progress and Chikara are using pivot share. So I'm sure pivot share is getting a % . With Classics they have to convert reels , which anyone remembers from Bix trying to raise money to convert reels to current media on those Watts reels was really expensive. Trust me if they go forward with a Roku app we'll be the 1st to know.
  13. I'm so looking forward to that one.
  14. Yes 43
  15. Hey I'm with you on wrestling being better in the 80's and even 70's. I much prefer the presentation and psychology in the matches. Full disclosure I'm over 40. I liked the Reed/Dusty match is sections. Just felt they missed the mark in some areas. Some of those areas are really important to me. Like I felt Reed did his best and made Dusty look like a million bucks. Though when it was Dusty's time he cut the heat short, and went with a lukewarm finish.

    Dynamite Kid

He had some good matches with Rocco in England too. To me he's the precursor to the modern style.
  17. If the company wanted to put Stampede up they can. Just not the Bret stuff. Bruce sold them Stampede minus the rights to Bret .They could put Owen era stuff up.
  18. Shocker of shockers. I made this same point on the previous page . Of course with less sentences. Lol
  19. I'm surprised they'd book a show the same weekend Star Wars opens.
  20. Final Battle looks to be a loaded show. Here's the card. The AJ match is in jeopardy though. **MAIN EVENT** ROH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Jay Lethal w/ Truth Martini vs. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles ROH WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP War Machine vs. The Kingdom w/ Maria Kanellis ROH WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP Bobby Fish vs Roderick Strong or Delirious GRUDGE MATCH Adam Cole vs Kyle O'Reilly SIX MAN TAG TEAM MATCH Alex Shelley, ACH & #Reborn Matt Sydal vs The Addiction & Chris Sabin “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin vs Moose w/ Stokely Hathaway #1 CONTENDERS TRIPLE THREAT TAG TEAM MATCH The Young Bucks vs All Night Express vs The Briscoes YouTube Exclusive Cheeseburger vs Brutal Bob
  21. Bret has every legal right to keep them off the network. I just don't think he gains anything by it unless he attempts something like nwa classics.com
  22. Ernie Ladd vs Master G 10/12/84 This was a quick fight. I dug Ladd's work in the corner. This was a masterclass in putting some one over. Master G was the guy Watts wanted to replace JYD as the face of the company. So Ladd is on him for about a minute. Master G makes a comeback with a big move off the top and makes Ladd submit. You can't blame Ladd for Master G failing. Ladd put him over as big as possible.

  24. Steve Williams/Hercules vs Hacksaw Duggan/Bill Dundee 10/12/84 This is an interesting match. It had a lot neat stuff, along with things that surprised me. The card this match was on drew a 33,000 dollar house. . I thought the shine was well worked. Dundee and Duggan played off each other well. The shine had a lot of energy to it They did a big brother/little brother thing. Like they did the Duggan pose together.Plus both Duggan and Dundee are great at connecting to the crowd. I marked out big for the Doc/Dundee slam off where Dundee used leverage to cause Doc to get a wedgie every time he tried to slam Dundee. Duggan had some fun spots. The guys did a good job mixing in the comedy with the tag spots. Eventually Dundee is the FIP. The comedy is now all thrown out the window and they just beat the crap out of Dundee. The heat is really built well and Hercules takes a football helmet and KO's Dundee for the win. I liked this for a change of pace where the hot tag wasn't made. It was built to, but didn't happen. I thought the wrestlers did a good job mixing the comedy, heat and storytelling to have a good match , while also taking chances. 3*
