  1. Watching NWA TV from 88 and I think Bobby Fulton is a big part of getting the Fantastics over. He carries the team in promos and I think he gives the matches more emotion and energy than Tommy Rogers. But Rogers had better timing and execution. That's what made them a great team. I always liked Stan Lane's kicks. They had a lot of personality to them. I think Kane is a good modern tag team wrestler. Surprisingly good face in peril considering his gimmick. Like Owen he has the ability to make any team he is a part of seem like a real team instead of tag team larping. Which in 2011 is an important element for any team.
  2. Also voting for a no count out match over the paper bag or college rules in Cody vs Brian.
  3. Where would the drama come from? There is no WCW now and the idea of a guy taking the WWE title to ROH or TNA is science fiction.
  4. The screwy finishes aren't surprising when you think about it. His biggest influences are Memphis and Dusty Rhodes NWA.
  5. Bob Holly said in his shoot Cornette saw a lot of potential in him. Early in his career Cornette told him to stop doing jobber matches in WCW because he was getting type cast. What was the deal with Vladmir Koloff? Was he any relation to Ivan? Was he any good? I remember reading about him in magazines and expecting him to turn up in WCW at any moment to join cousin Nikita.
  6. Owen Hart was a really good tag wrestler. No matter who he tagged with, it always felt like a real team instead of two singles guys tag team larping.
  7. My favorite Tully dickhead move was at Survivor Series 88. He gets tagged in against Barbarian. He struts around the ring and quickly tags out.
  8. I was referring to Sabu/Malice. The Shamrock match was disappointing. I think Shamrock was good during his WWF run but that two years he was back in MMA seemed to kill the pro wrestling part of his brain.
  9. That Sabu ladder match was awesome and I hate ladder matches.
  10. You would think that but both shows are actually good. The finishes kinda sucked but the action was good. I don't remember any of the matches being short. Checking the cards most of the matches ran average ppv lengths.
  11. Face/IRS Rotunda and Varsity Club Rotunda are night and day.
  12. Has TNA ever ran a PPV as good as Slamboree 2000 or Bash at the Beach 2000?
  13. Something about the Varsity Club energized Rotunda. Pre Varsity Club he is a capable but boring work guy. But once he became Captain Mike he developed a ton of personality and charisma. Then they changed the gimmick and it went away. Hell during the brief Varsity Club reunion in 99 he seemed like the old Mike Rotunda personality wise. He was fine as IRS, especially during the period he teamed with Dibiase. But it was a long way from the Varsity Club.
  14. Gary Royal while not as distinct as Victory, has a build that is hard to miss when he was working as Gladiator #1,Cruel Connection #1 or Destroyer.
  15. Jack Victory has a build resembling Roger the Alien from American Dad.
  16. The nicest thing he could say about TNA. People can say what they want but guys like Flair, Foley and Sting have done their best to earn their money in TNA.
  17. Clubbering is awesome. Chyna and Primo Carnera III could clubber and it would automatically be good.
  18. Surely you are not suggesting Jeff Hardy is not a reliable source?
  19. Reliable sources say he takes Ambien to sleep. Very reliable sources.
  20. How does that equal=Best or State of the art. I said they had good double team offense on par with most of their contemporaries. I also pointed out the Powers of Pain had better double teams.
  21. Who said Demolition had high end offense?
  22. Would do wonders for you.
  23. Actually those three teams do sometimes do schtick just to do it. Lots of teams do actually. They'll work some type of schtick to get a pop but does not necessarily add to the match or make sense within the story. Wasn't poor or boring. It was usually well timed and calculated to get maximum effect. You've already admitted you have not watched the matches in a long time and have no intention to rewatch them. You are so feeble and weak minded you quake and quiver in fear of anyone who says how they feel with any sort of conviction.
  24. Demolition brought structure and story to the matches. In fact Shawn Micheales hated the way Demolition called their matches. Really as much as I love the Towers the only significant tag matches of any length had were against Demolition. The Mega Powers match was hacked up to set up the Hogan/Savage angles and The Rockers match was a squash. In any case their punches were certainly not weak. Ax's ax handles could be spotty but everything else he did looked painful. Smash's offense was consistently good.
  25. No. Demolition are obviously better than freaking Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard, The Rockers, The Hart Foundation, One Man Gang & Big Bubba, the Rock'n Roll Express, the MX and probably Kawada & Misawa too. And if you don't agree you're a moron. Or something... No,yes, yes, yes,no,no and yes. This is fun.
