Some USWA reccomendations through Febuary 16th 1997: Debut of "Hollywood" Mike Samples. 1/18. Comes to the studio in a limo and has a phone interview with Taxi's Jeff Conway. Steven Dunn/Flash Flannigan vs PG13 No DQ tag title match. 1/18. Title change and after the match PG13 injure Flash when Wolfie D does a flip over the top rope while Flash is on a chair. Shaquile Ali (Tracy Smothers) vs Jerry Lawler 1/25. Low end nomination but a good match. The one they had in 98 on Power Pro tv is good too. Feb 8th: Lance Russell's return and Jerry Lawler and him announce the departure from the promotion of Corey Maclin and Dave Brown. Good send off and I think it should be on the set just for historical sake. King Regnald vs Kip Morris 2/8: The only Memphis appearance of Brian Pillman. He does commentary during this and just totally flusters Lance Russell. Also features Reggie B Fine's ridiculous fake Jerry Lawler gimmick. PG 13 vs Lawler and Dundee 2/15. Sunny does commentary during the match with Lance.

I really liked Punk/Henry but i think I liked Hunico vs Tyson Kidd on Superstars better. Aj/James Storm might be better too.

I finished watching USWA 1990 so now I'm moving onto USWA 1997. Dave Brown and Corey Maclin left the promotion in late January and were replaced by Lance Russell. Kinda sad to see Lance struggle to call the action by himself. Clearly he didn't watch the product. Can't say I blame him cause it's kinda bad. The lead heel group: Nation of Domination Memphis, that was started with a big group had been reduced to about 4 guys(PG13, Reggie B Fine, Spellbinder). Also I had no idea Brian Pillman showed up in the studio? He did commentary with Lance and totally caught Lance off guard with his bashing. He said Lance should call dr. kevorkian before the Alzheimer's ruins him and how he needs to change his depends. Lance looked like he was gonna cry.

[1995-04-02-WWF-Wrestlemania XI] Shawn Michaels vs Diesel
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in April 1995
Pam Anderson didn't look pleased to be there. OK match but I like the Bret/Diesel matches better and the HBK/Diesel street Fight from In Your House- 11 replies

He did the Yes chant after he left during his interview while the Camera is off. Sitting in the crowd tonight during the smackdown tapings, It seems some people just chant yes and not know who it's for or what it means. Like they chant "YES" but then boo Daniel Bryan. I think it will last in the short term but not long term. The other shocking thing tonight, Lesnar didn't get a big pop when they did the Raw rebound. Weird crowd cause they loved Cena.

Wasn't HHH bleeding in the cell? It wasn't much but it was noticeable. Taker's back looked sick after all those chair shots.

Massively hyped and then buried at the event
Tim Evans replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in Pro Wrestling
Curtis/Maxine is better booked than Cena/Rock. That's kinda sad. -
Eaton looks like Cornette with a mullet in that yellow jacket.

Man Flair is nuts here. I like how he doesn't even look at the girl while talking to her.

[1995-03-27-WWF-Raw] Bret Hart vs Owen Hart (No Holds Barred)
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in March 1995
Bret almost reached Cena levels in overcoming the odds in this match. Besides Mania X, did Owen ever beat Bret in a singles match clean or sorta clean?- 10 replies

Ciclon Ramirez/Americo Rocca/Yoshihiro Tajiri vs. Mogur/Halcon Negro/Guerrero de la Muerte 1/23/1996 More Tajiri in CMLL. He just stiffs the hell out of Mogur with his kicks.

Refs should be under the age of 70 and should be able to move quickly. Most lucha refs and Frank Morell/Bronco Lunbrich were just awful cause of that. Especially modern day CMLL. Oh and Heel refs are awful too. Like Hijo de Tirantes.

I know a lot of people hate Todd in WWF but I always liked his hype skills for PPV. Hell if I didn't see him on the preview channel hyping Bret/Diesel, I probably would never have watched wrestling. I forgot Reggie White was on Team LT. So did Bischoff see Mongo on raw and just say "I have to sign this man based on a crappy looking brawl"?

I always liked Mabel better as a heel. Poor Oscar. Was this his last appearance? -
[1995-03-26-AJW-Wrestling Queendom: Victory] Manami Toyota vs Aja Kong
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in March 1995
I didn't care too much for this. It wasn't a bad match and had some nice moments. Has Toyota ever had a match where she doesn't try to get her spots in and just gets destroyed?- 14 replies

[1995-03-26-AJW-Wrestling Queendom: Victory] Lioness Asuka vs Yumiko Hotta
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in March 1995
So what was the story about this match? Was it supposed to be Fake MMA or something? I kinda liked it. Could have been shorter like Loss said but the punches were nice.- 24 replies

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
I wonder what WWE gave TNA to get Flair for the Hall of Fame and mania.? I'm guessing money but maybe advertising for Lockdown? -
That was kinda harsh. I'm gonna add this match from UWF Hamada. It's not from Mexico but it's Lucha and really fun Lucha. Lots of high flying, some comedy and a little mat work. Robin Hood & Los Ninja Turtles vs. Shu El Guerrero/Jose Luis Feliciano/El Texano/Black Terry/Ricky Boy (9/12/91)

[1995-03-26-WAR-Battle Angel] Genichiro Tenryu vs Yokozuna
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in March 1995
Yamaguchi San as Fake Mr. Fuji with face paint is funny. Other than that, this was pretty bad. Who was the guy that interfered? Didn't seem to affect anything except to kill time. Good thing the match wasn't even 10 minutes. -
[1995-03-26-AJPW-Championship Carnival] Mitsuharu Misawa vs Kenta Kobashi
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in March 1995
I gotta agree with Loss. This was pretty good. Not really a lot of downtime or many resholds. Just brutal forearms and chops.- 10 replies
