Okada is the Japanese Crimson. Naito carried him to an OK match but it's nowhere near as good as Dave says.

Just finished August 1990 in my USWA watching. Evansville feed seems to have stopped airing Texas footage and just doing Memphis. Eddie Gilbert returned after Bill Dundee was going to pay him $5,000 bucks to be his tag partner on a Monday night vs Dirty White Boy and John Tatum. Of course it was all a ruse as Dundee needed help on TV and Eddie says "You gotta pay me more for that". Awesome dick heel move there. This leads to some good Lawler/Dundee vs DWB/Gilbert matches. Eventually John Tatum joins the ranks after dressing up like a monkey mascot and attacking Lawler and Dundee on tv. My favorite angle is the Jeff Gaylord/Scott Braddock/Downtown Bruno vs Kowabunga feud. Chris Champion as a wrestling Ninja Turtle is just great. I love the video of him at was I would guess is Jerry Lawler's house making out to Lawler matches and shitting on CSPAN. All while he's talking to Spinter the rat. I also didn't know Snowman lasted as long as he did. He had a feud with Brian Lee and was a babyface.

Is the name of the show Of Hons Ow? Because based on that poster, that's what it looks like. So Bush league.

21 times in 1998, which is a pretty decent number given (i) no matches in January, and (ii) no matches after 12/7. In fact, just one match until 3/2 and just one match after 11/16. 18 matches in between those two dates. 19 times in 1999. Just once in Feb, and was done in the first week of November due to the injury. Not a massive impact of SmackDown on that number as it only was just starting when he went out. I would be surprised if any "anchor" wrestler in the WWF had wrestled on TV 20 times in a year prior to 1998. That's setting aside stuff that aired on MSG/Spectrum/NESN/Z Channel, and just counting stuff like the syndication, USA Network, SNME and The Main Event. Doubt Shawn worked that much on TV in 1996, Nash in 1995, Shawn or Bret in 1997, Bret in 1993-94, Hogan in 1991, Warrior in 1990, Hogan in 1989, Savage in 1988, Hogan in 1984-88, etc. I think we could say Austin was there at the change. John I had him at 19 matches in 1998 and 17 in 1999. Regardless, that's 40 TV matches combined over two years. I guarantee you Cena had more than that in 2011 alone. Cena had 33 matches on Raw in 2011. Most of them were tag matches or 6 man tags. He didn't wrestle on tv most of January, November or May. -

Besides Daniel Bryan, Santino is my favorite guy in the company. Even when he's in with utter shit like Mason Ryan or Tyler Reks, he makes the matches entertaining. Last night on Raw, he got bigger pops than Cena, Rock, HHH and Punk. Dude deserves at least the US title. I don't see a problem with him holding the title.

How much money does South Park make off of Terrance and Phillip? Isn't that basically marketing a fart. This farting gimmick kinda reminds me of Goldust's electrocution. That became popular when Howard Stern found it and played the twitch every day on his show. I think Goldust even appeared on the show. -

I actually don't mind Natalya's new gimmick. It's better than playing second fiddle to another bore, Beth Phoenix. Trish Stratus and I might be the only ones that like it though. -
I liked hoe Cornette tried to make the save when D-Lo took out Smothers knee but it didn't work. Good tv match with a lot of blood.

Holy shit at that video they aired between the interview. Featuring a guy grabbing his junk right in front of the camera, drinking beer and other stereotypes.

[1995-03-04-USWA-TV] PG-13 and Tommy Rich & Gorgeous George III

Tommy keeps Wolfie's hair as a badge of glory. I don't remember them doing many angles backstage around this time? -
[1995-03-04-WWF-Superstars] Heartbreak Hotel: Psycho Sid
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in March 1995
That top 10 list took Shawn about 10 minutes to get through. I liked Sid asking "Who decided to open the gates of hell?" -
Man Big Johnny looks huge here. Almost mid 2000's HHH level. The final 15 minutes of this were real good. I didn't care much for the early limb work, especially from Ace.

Terry Garvin as a jobber in 1988 USA Championship Wrestling Steve Austin as babyface Steve Williams touring USWA before he became Steve Austin Mike Shaw as Salomon Grundy's brother in CMLL in the early 90's. Joey Mags as part of the Southern Rockers in USWA when Steve Doll left. Joey and Rex King even won the tag titles.

The Sationary camera totally kills this match. You miss a lot of dives by both guys and some moves in the corner. It wasn't horrible but that hurt it.

[1995-02-27-WWF-Raw] Bam Bam Bigelow and Lawrence Taylor
Tim Evans replied to Loss's topic in February 1995
Why would the babyface walk off in the middle of a interview? That doesn't make too much sense. Other than that, this was awesome. -
Yeah this had way too much Cornette. Why is he standing toe to toe with New Jack of all people?

They used the fancam footage on TV for the matches. Sometimes they aired clips and sometimes they didn't. Landell is awesome here offering up HIS FIRST BORN for a rematch.

This was a really great Owen Hart and Bret Hart performance. The Leg work on Bret and the bumping and heel moves by Owen are just the best. Backlund and Bulldog were good but not compared to the Harts. I felt bad that JR had to put up with Todd's shitty jokes though.

I mean when Snowman won the title with Spinks as special guest Ref.
-
I just watched the match you are talking about and holy shit was it great. Jerry Lawler was like a mix between Fujiwara and current day Casas/Panther. Snowman was pretty awful in the ring but when he gave a stiff punch right to Lawler's ribs, I marked out a little bit. The whole lead up to the match where Snowman gets into a verbal fight with Eddie Marlin and brings out Norvell Austin's brother and some scary guy who just stares down Dave Brown was great. The guy didn't even know who Jerry Lawler was. Was Snowman actually a babyface earlier in the feud? Does any footage of the Leon Spinks ref match exist?
