The ROH show just this last weekend went from 200-ish tickets sold to 2500 and got one of the biggest buyrates ever for a ROH PPV solely due to their match with FTR, so it's not the best time for that take. No one was drawing in ROH toward the end due to lackluster booking and being owned by a billon dollar corporation who had to be dragged kicking and screaming into paying for a decent lighting rig. No one was going to able to draw with that.

Also, and this might not be a popular take here, apologizing isn't a magic wand that wipes away your past behavior. Yeah it's great someone can look back and past deeds and say "wow I certainly fucked up there, I'm sorry", just doing that doesn't mean they are automatically entitled to the same opportunities as before. Words/behaviors have consequences, and an apology doesn't mean someone can't still say "yeah I'm gonna pass on having someone with that in their history work for me". Is it fair? Maybe not, but you can't un-ring the bell with an apology.

FWIW, it seems like Tony does want to sign him, but if it would piss off his TV partner I don't expect him to die on that hill. The Briscoes are great and by all accounts Jay (AFAIK Mark never said anything and just kind of got grouped in all of this), seems to have realized what he said was fucked up, but at the same time what he said was REALLY fucked up. It's not like he said something like "I don't care for gay people" he said he would literally shoot anyone trying to teach his kids being gay was ok. In an era where LGBT+ folks are seeing an increase of rhetoric against them in the political world, I can see a company being awfully concerned having someone who said something like that on their TV show.

This kind of has an "everyone involved kinda sucks" vibe, but if he hit her then I don't feel bad saying "fuck him". Either way he really fucked over his tag team partner in the process as well.

Dax is known for stirring the pot and always working in that old school way, so I would take everything he says with a grain of salt. I'm sure on some level he's annoyed at the Bucks thinking they are better than him, but at the end of the day business is business.

I mean it is the same championship being promoted by the same company so it *is* the same title Dusty won, all be it with like 1/50th the prestige. It's a lot closer Dusty's legacy than the title of the company that went back and forth between trying to put the people who he worked for out of business and making fun of him.

That's pretty good considering not only was it going against the NCAA championship game, it was a good one that went down to the wire.

Having said that, it will definitely work well in WWE since fans there rarely get to see any kind of emotion in promos so it won't matter as much if it comes off a little actor-y. In AEW, fans see people cut from the heart promos practically every week so if you aren't sounding 100% real they're not going to buy it. Which I think was Cody's entire problem there.

When Bryan was fighting back tears when Regal was praising him, I 100% believed it was real emotion. When Cody came out last night it looked like he was trying to force it out, and it didn't look genuine. Which is wild, because he was talking about his deceased legendary father who I don't doubt was legit his hero. That's why Cody gets called out for it because it just doesn't come off as real emotion, especially after he spent a weekend doing the carniest of carny interviews.
