It seems weird to say, but it's almost like it's too early for Punk since it sounds like he's about to go on the run of his career right now. Also the Steiners seem like a non brainer just for being influential in two different countries, but influence seems to be one of those things that is applied only as a tiebreaker for someone on the fence.

Man, it just seems like it's almost impossible to get in as a non wrestler unless it's a no-doubter manager situation like Bobby Heenan. You could probably make a convincing case for everyone on that part of the list, and a few stand out as "how are they not already in?" level omissions, yet they probably will never get in.

I think the implication here is that all the Invincible Fiend stuff was Vince's idea, and when Bray tried to push back on it he got heat. I honestly think it's going to come out that Bray's involvement was just designing the look for the Fiend and the actual booking was out of his control. Say what you will, Bray's not a dumb guy, he had to know how every program the Fiend had ended up hurting the momentum of the opponent. The only good match to come out of it was Bryan working a miracle. I can't imagine they would have kept booking him the same way after the first bad match if it was all his ideas, the fact that it kept happening had to have been a Vince call.

Britt's clearly a draw, but I don't discount Abadon having that "what is THAT???" appeal that gets people to stop what they are doing and watch this monster.

So SRS is reporting that apparently Bray Wyatt was vocal about creative sucking to the point people believe Vince soured on him over it and that's why he was released. No one believed the "budget cuts" reason for his release since he was a big merch seller and was over with the crowd.

The funniest thing to me is why Morrison is wearing glasses as part of his costume when (to my knowledge) Dave has never worn them in his life.

To be fair, Raw had some good matches, but it all seems so pointless since everyone always lands back in the same positions. I laughed at Chad Gable trying to recruit Big E by saying "look how much I did for Otis".....yeah Chad, he went from being in one lower mid card tag team to another. I guess not being stuck as a comedy guy is an improvement?

They tend to be a catch all thread for everything happening on TV that week, and having one big ass thread for all WWE TV gets unwieldy fast (plus on most message boards they tend to cause things to break after a while).

I was at that one, among others, including a show where they opened the roof (which was a rare occurrence).

Those were all indeed good, I just think he's been on another level in recent weeks. It's like he spent his time between companies training in the chamber with Goku and now he's displaying his full power.

What's funny is with their "no one under 6'2" rule back in effect, there would seem to be no reason for this unless there's some secret cache of tall ass refs hiding out somewhere.

LOL Also this reminded me of how long it took them to get the full Mid South library because Bill Watts'' ex owned a chunk and she was looking for a payout rather than any attachment to the rasslin.
-
Actually it probably fell through because WWE is notoriously cheap in their offers for footage because most of the time they're buying them from broke ass promoters or their families who just want to get rid of it. Sinclair probably got a lowball offer and told them to GTFO.

Am I crazy to think he's somehow managed to exceed everyone's lofty expectations? We all knew he was going to be great but he's already had more bangers in like 5 weeks than he had in the last 5 years of his WWE run. He's out here doing pretty much everything he's ever wanted to do plus doing things for shits and giggles like working that Dark taping no one would give a solitary fuck about otherwise.

I really, really hope TK gets the rights to the library. Not just because of All In, but more selfishly it deserves better than to be added to the piles of content never to get added to the WWE Network. I guess we'd at least see a match or two in a Best of Seth Rollins DVD, but yeah.

I just love that the point was made by someone with a Goldust avatar (a gimmick designed to get heat with that very same hyper masculine culture). (also not being sarcastic, I really did love seeing that. makes me remember why I like this place so much)

He's allowed to pursue any career he wishes to. I'm allowed to not support a homophobe if I don't want to. That's how freedom works. If your income takes a hit because of something fucked up you say or do, it's not the fault of the people who don't want to do business with you. It's your fault for saying or doing the shitty things. I will say there was way more of a need for cognitive dissonance in the 80s and 90s when a high percentage of people in wrestling were shitty for one reason or another. Things have improved a lot since then so I can understand how some folks don't feel the need for such things anymore. I'd actually say it requires a lot more dissonance to be a fan of real sports since it seems another horror story is coming out nearly every day from that world.

There's actually been several attempts at relaunching/rebooting XPW, all end just as you would expect them to.
-
Homophobia shouldn't be part of anyone's gimmick, neither should threatening to shoot anyone who tries to teach his kid not to be. If he wants to be in gimmick then tweet about like, chickens and shit. Yeah, his overall presentation does suggest someone who would hold those views, but you don't have to say that shit out loud and if you do the you accept the consequences.

Dante Martin is unreal. Every match he does some move that doesn't seem humanly possible, and does so seemingly effortlessly.
-
Britt not wanting to put her fingers in Abadon's bloody maw was a great spot. That was a lot more involved than I suspected as well. This is the kind of show that amplifies what makes AEW stand out, three matches, all completely different.

Multiple Submission Bryan vs Murder Spree Mox is going to be a hell of a battle.

It cracks me up hearing Pat inject his native Pittsurgh-ese into commentary, we tend to turn ow/aw sounds into AHN so Smackdown becomes Smack DAHN and it warms my Yinzer heart.

Funny how that tends to follow matches Charlotte is in, as if there's some kind of common denominator involved.

I get that he may be an anomaly in the profession, but all available evidence highly suggests McDevitt is 1: a shitbag and 2 gets the results his client wants and is very skilled at his job. Also it still boggles the mind that the US government (who as Jerry himself pointed out has a 90%+ rate of convictions or plea deals) made such a piss poor case. There seemed to be multiple ways they could have played their hand that would have Vince royally fucked, but they decided to put on a completely clown shoes effort.
