I'm sure there's something in an Observer back issue on it, but IIRC it was at the height of Trump pushing the Muslim travel ban and Cass was basically parroting all the usual talking points you'd expect to hear. So indirectly it was getting heat for being pro-Trump and more for being an asshole to a co worker by talking shit on his cultural background.

I was thinking more of her IRL presentation to be fair, but the tone switching was something that almost sounded forced and kind of distracted from what was a seriously great promo. That aside, it was kind of WWE of them to expose a new talent like that on day one.

WWE gets extra stupid for Survivor Series these days. You might as well not even bother trying to make sense of things.

WWE's idea for building up Survivor Series this year (and the last several as well) has been to just make everyone into completely unlikable assholes who suddenly care about BRAND SUPREMACY for about 3 weeks.

I saw a story on Twitter about a journalist who was trying to get to the bottom of how that happened. only to find out it's impossible to know for sure who's fault it was because everyone there is equally inept at their job.
