The women's tag match was pretty good, but it's telling that they are again doing a deal where a singles champ is also a tag champ.
-
Not wanting to put someone over is one thing, Brody just stopped selling and cooperating mid match is some real unprofessional bullshit from a guy who honestly did this kind of thing a lot but it's not considered polite to mention that.
-
He's shooting in the sense where he stopped selling for him, which was making Luger look like shit when he was being positioned as the next big superstar in the territory. Brody was big timing him here basically trying to goad Luger into a real fight knowing Lex would get all the heat for it since he was the rookie. You can see where even the ref is looking at Brody like "fucking really, Frank?" while he just stands there like a statue while Lex throws punches. By the end he's totally sandbagging him and I actually give Lex props for not only not taking the bait, but also for being able to come up with a way to end the match while still keeping kayfabe. It's really an amazing example of how much old timey wrestlers bullshit, when the story was always told to make it sound like Lex ran in terror from the fearsome Brody when the footage showed he was just said fuck it and left because Bruiser was being an uncooperative shithead.

So it looks like the Rush family all re-signed for at least another year, which is great news since the Mexico City area went back to red status recently. Lucha groups of any significance will be on ice for the time being so it will be nice having Rush and Dragon Lee somewhere they can work regularly in a safe-as-possible environment since ROH does the bubble deal before tapings.

That's why this Carmella push burns me. Not because I don't think she's very good but because it's a clear "push the type Vince wants to have sex with" situation rather than giving literally anyone else on the roster a chance.
-
Another fine example, they did all those Mr. Perfect vignettes with her and for what? They haven't done dick with her since. But hey, let's give Carmella another try.

Reminds me of the "Always has been" meme. WWE women on the main roster has long been the Horsewomen and everyone else trailing fair behind. everyone else is either very much not good or talented but somehow creative can't come up with anything for them to do (which is where Asuka was stuck until Becky left).
-
It seems like they are building up a Good Brothers vs Bucks match at some point, which would be very interesting indeed. I would also love seeing Chris Bey mix it up with someone like Jungle Boy, seems that those two would mesh nicely together.
-
Yeah at least having Alexa around made it feel somewhat different, this just seems like more tired WWE rehash.

It comes off like he used his time in lockdown to experiment with different tanning options and it ended badly. Also why bother with doing an Inferno Match when they just did that angle where it seems the Fiend is impervious to fire? Randy lit up the box he was in and he came out unscathed. In kayfabe why would you book an Inferno Match when one guy showed he can't be burned?

Kenny did a promo about how "people" were saying the tournament to name a #1 contender was kind of wonky (which it was) so he was giving Joey another shot to make it clear who the better man was and that he would even make it no DQ to make sure Joey had no excuses.

Omega vs Rey Fenix? Don't mind if I do.
-
I suppose if nothing else, an Omega-Janela main event might be what finally pushes Cornette over the edge to finally having a stroke.
-
If either AEW or Impact books a Don Callis vs Tony match they have my money.
-
As part of the whole working agreement, Moose should come out and confront Big Swole for jacking the cadence of his theme song for hers.
-
Rap Battle Kaz is not a thing I was expecting to ever see on my TV. 2020 contains multitudes.
-
Griff Garrison looks so much like Chris Jericho circa 1993 I half expect to find out he's secretly his son.
-
Well hey, congrats to Cody and Brandi.
-
Wardlow is off the show due to family issues, so the mega tag match is now a 12 man instead of a 14 man (Brandon Cutler was taken off the other team).

Pretty sure he stated (or at least made it clear by how he mentioned it) that being asked to make a cancer joke about Roman was the precise moment his mind flipped the switch to "fuck this place".
-
Yeah Roman can Mitch McConnell shit for the next 3 years and it would be justified IMO.
-
IIRC the backstory Heyman gave as part of the angle of him being close to the family was legit, so it was probably a combination of that and Roman knowing that WWE usually lets Paul book angles he's involved in with minimal interference. Normally I'm not a fan of political maneuvering in wrestling, but if Roman did get Bray sent to Raw I don't mind it. This version of Roman having to deal with Firefly Funhouse nonsense would be a criminal offense.

I wonder if the Good Brothers will show up with Kenny tonight.

It has created quite the interesting situation where ROH/CMLL/New Japan work together, Impact works with AEW and AAA, and if Impact can be the one to bring both sides together it would be like some modern-day 70s NWA shit. If New Japan is over it's bad feelings with Impact, hopefully they can start to work with AEW more than just having Mox and Jericho on one or two shows.
