  1. This is an amazing story about Cody escaping the shadow of his dad by embracing it, and really makes it seem like All In is Cody's Starrcade in terms of trying to create something of his own.
  2. Wrestling lost so much when Vince decided managers were too southern. Theres really nothing today like Captain Lou, and there is nothing incentivizing anyone to try to be since it would limit your career options.
  3. He was set up to be an all time great babyface in AAA after all the racial crap happend in WWE, but AAA and Alberto are the two most combustible things in wrestling so of course putting the two together blew up in everyone's faces. Which is why them bringing him back for Triplemania again this year is pretty much a LOLTNA level event waiting to happen.
  4. Yeah the day Big Show decides it's a career he goes in the next year for sure.
  5. I was wondering, since so many buildings from that era are long dead and gone, and not only is the Hamburg Field House still standing it still hosts wrestling on a regular basis.
  6. I love how the 1975 show looks like the hard cam is either on a tripod with one short leg or slowly sliding off whatever it was set on. Agreed how surprising the shows have been, I was honestly expecting one borefest after another with the only appeal being historical, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how entertaining they've been. Superstar doing Hogan promos with Vince playing Mean Gene will never not be entertaining.
  7. Batista will probably go in, he's friends with HHH and his beef was with OVW who they don't work with anymore. I could see pretty much everyone you listed being locks except for You Know Who and guys who don't give a shit like Bundy, Lesnar and, Honky Tonk Man (who's mentioned several times he doesn't care about it).
  8. Pretty sure Bundy turned them down at some point. Also who could be mad at Hillbilly Jim in the HOF? He's the most WWF person who ever WWF'ed.
  9. Championship Wrestling was the A show, All Star was the B show.
  10. I feel like people are being obtuse at this point if it's not clear that Roman is clearly not the beloved top babyface the company so badly wants him to be. Yes he is very good in the ring now, yes his promos are good if he isn't being given "sufferin' succotash" level cringe material to say, but he is the square peg being jammed in the round hole despite there being a guy (BRAUN) who caught fire and wouldn't be rejected in the same position.
  11. I'm all for anything that gets us more "Don't Go Messin' With a Country Boy".
  12. It'll be some winky-winky reference that only the people who know about this will pick up on (because that's who it's meant to upset, the internet fans they want to boo Brock and cheer Roman at WM).
  13. I would be shocked if this doesn't get mentioned in Roman's next promo on Brock.
  14. 80s TV is why we'd lose our shit as kids when Saturday Night's Main Event would come on. Matches between stars! Hulk Hogan wrestling on TV! That was mind blowing stuff at the time.
  15. He may or may not have, but WWE tells the people they offer deals to deny it until the company announces it. The real tell is if there's a sudden drop in bookings like what is happening with Keith Lee. I would probably think Walter would stay where he is even if he did get an offer, since he's in an unusual position of being an in-demand indy guy and having an employee postion in WXW. He doesn't strike me as a guy who could be wooed with the promise of WWE fame to take a developmental paycut.
  16. WWWF All Star drop looks like it will be 92 episodes It's only one 1975 epsisode up to September of 1980. This one might be hit a little harder by the "technical difficulties from the original source" hammer as some are going to be less than 30 minutes. Still, looks to be a pretty fun drop and it's the earliest TV they've put up so far.
  17. What I don't get is when it happened, reports from the tapings were something like the bat bounced off the chair and hit him, but it looks like he hit him right in the face. How does that even happen when you're supposed to be aiming at a chair placed on his chest? Either Sami is like Stan Hansen levels of poor eyesight or has zero depth perception.
  18. Right, and some of their interational deals are paying them for three hours and dont expire at the same time as the NBCU deal. Right, and none of them are going to be paying anything near what Fox would be. Easier to tell a few international partners than they are going to get a little less content than pissing off the local affiliates of your largest revenue source.
  19. It's been stated that moving to Fox would mean two hours, local affiliates are not going to stand for having their local news (that they get the money for) get pre empted for rasslin'.
  20. If Vince made a decision that resulted in WWE losing $100 million in revenue, the stock would tank and the shareholders would revolt. Don't forget they are the most important customers.
  21. I would think WWE is going to end up staying with USA/NBC Universal unless someone like Fox makes a stupidly large money offer. That only happens if they lose UFC, and I don't know if there's anyone really lining up to steal them away. As fans though we should be hoping and praying that happens since WWE on Fox stations would mean the end of 3 hour death slog Raws.
  22. That's the one I was referring to, I never got motion sickness from TV before that.
  23. WWE ZoomCam doesn't normally bother me as much as it seems to bother most people, but holy shit the zooming on that show ending beatdown of John Cena on Smackdown had my stomach lurching.
  24. Look like its going to be 76-79
  25. Looks like there were Fox Sports execs at Smackdown along with Fox Sports host Colin Cowherd, which is funny since he would make fun of wrestling fans on his show and call them booger eaters.
