John Cena is a guy who is usually good at getting better than expected matches out of his opponents, which I feel sometimes causes them to be viewed as better than they actually were due to low expectations. Like the Khali matches weren't really all that great, but they were a hell of a lot better than anyone thought they could possibly be so they must be three stars.

Honestly, a lot of it seems to come from people wanting to see Floyd get beat up and thinking the MMA guy can do it. What's funny is that it's a no win for the UFC in the sense that when Floyd wins all the boxing people will be all "we told everyone MMA was garbage" and if Conor somehow wins they'll just claim it was rigged since a boxer couldn't really beat an MMA guy if it was legit.

UFC didn't really have a choice, the new owners bought high and need to have record breaking income every year to not lose their shirts paying off the loans they took out. The only way they're going to make that kind of money on a regular basis is to whore their top draws out like this.

You're implying he was in Long Beach though. Or is there some other Gordon Solie trait you're referencing I'm not aware of. -

Really? Your tweets during Takeover suggest otherwise More JR's performance on commentary here is far superior to what he showed last month in Long Beach. The difference is sobering. #NXTTakeOver that JR performance was more Jerry Lawler than Gordon Solie #NXTTakeOver -
Perhaps the most WCW thing ever is that they did this so many times we can't figure out which one I'm thinking of (I think it's the 1991 one).

Bix subtweeting JR the last couple of days has gone from amusing to sad with all the "JR is a drunk" implications. Like, yeah the guy's probably not the nicest guy in the world but he's clearly been having a rough few months and it comes off bad. -
Professional boxers haven't been able to lay many hits on Floyd, but people expect Conor will because....reasons. I'm not claiming to be a boxing expert but I've seen exactly one fight where Floyd looked like he was in any trouble, and that ended when he ran for the remaining 5-6 rounds and gassed the guy out. Conor always has the puncher's chance, and Floyd's not a KO guy, but if anyone thinks this is going to be a slobber knocker they're going to be sorely disappointed.

Speaking of WCW and things being unaired do you reckon WWE has the stuff that never made it to air like the interview with Sid as WCW Champion after he beat Vader at Starrcade 93? I know Flair was the replacement that won the title but you hear over the years about stuff being filmed in advance. The Sid taped as champion stuff is just a myth. The July tapings that Sid was part of only ran through 11/20, a few weeks before Starrcade. The November 12th taping for the end of the month and post-Starrcade was more than two weeks after the stabbing and suspension, Sid wasn't around for those at all. He had already taped some BattleBowl promos that made it to TV, and the edited match where the Kongs took him out after the Clash aired. His run in and subsequent match with one of the Kongs never aired since they knew he was done. Those two things could possibly be in their tapes. Not sure a Sid-Kong squash would count as a hidden gem, but be interesting to see nonetheless. Were there any other stuff they filmed years ago from that time period? If the Sid thing was a myth when you read various magazines and they say about people filmed with the belts in Disney because the crowd wasen't wrestling fans I was wondering who else might have had taped stuff. Im sure there was a tag team who did this but can't remember there name. The Freebirds (Hayes/Garvin) had the tag belts and were taped losing them before they ever won them at the following week's Clash. That was what I was referencing earlier.

It pains me as a gamer to say it, but holy shit does Neville come off as a giant nerd in those Rocket League spots. I know it's apparently his IRL look but manbun and glasses Neville makes the King of the Cruiserweights look like he gets shoved in every locker.

Knowing this company, I'd wager there's people in charge pissed that their petty ass high school attempts to break them up didn't work.

I'm just scared Shane is going to have a heart attack on live TV given how he turns into a sweaty mess the moment he does anything.

Are you SERIOUS?! Jon Jones may very well be the biggest moron in the history of sports. Yes.....and Yes, He probably fucked over Brock since that was his leverage to get another fat WWE deal too.
-
So I guess Jon Jones-Brock might end up being in WWE after all, word just came down that Jones failed a drug test after UFC 214 for steroids.

It's weird that "Dave loves Kenny" became the talking point when he clearly is the world's biggest Okada fan. And Okada is basically Japanese Ric Flair now where he can broomstick anyone to a four star match, so when he's working with someone who can hold up their end of the deal it's going to be enough snowflakes to fill a decorative snow globe.

Dana Brooke's boyfriend passed away today from what TMZ reported was "choking on food", which if was the actual reason and not code for something else is a cautionary tale that everyone should know basic skills like doing the Heimlich maneuver on yourself using a chair if you find yourself choking and no one else is around.

Cena's usual facial expressions aren't any less goofier to be honest. As much as I don't like modern WWE crowds, I thought the "You both suck" chant was pretty funny. What bothered me about that segment was how Cena was pulling a Triple H and going off script to try to throw Miz off his promo. If anyone else had marble mouthed the venue name like Miz did, the other person would have just ignored it but John just had to bring it up and call attention to the mistake.
-
Cena got more upset at the beach ball than he ever did at getting booed by half the crowd as top babyface.

Pissed off Miz is the best.
