PAC on that WWE style "get injured, come back massive" diet.
-
Mox vs Darby is going to be some insane bullshit and I can't wait.
-
So the rumor mill is stating New Japan is planning on strapping up Takeshita soon. and that's why AEW is speeding up the potential match with Okada now before it becomes more of a headache politically.
-
Eddie looking like he hasnt't missed a beat, he's like the passion of wresting in human form.

Considering how much they get paid for random ass PLEs (not even counting Rumbles and Wrestlemanias), you can make the argument that the Saudis have been their bosses for a while now. Speaking of TKO putting profits over everything else, anyone else hear how the reason John Cena's retirement tour isn't having the storybook ending in his hometown? Because Boston wouldn't fork over the event fees WWE was asking for to do a week of shows.
-
The way Meltzer worded it made it sound like there was a second Wellness Policy violation that would have required a 60 day suspension but the reason he was released wasn't that.
-
Having Mascarita Sagrada in the opening match and letting him do his thing was a smart move.
-
Also not trying to be mean, but did Maricela Pena have a stroke at some point? She looks very not well.

Watching the AAA show on a delay. and I was thinking.....for everyone mad that WWE is going to ruin AAA, it was always AAA's goal to be the WWE of Mexico. They just could only go so far with the budget they had. If they get turned into WWE then that's just going to accomplish the goal they had all along.

That's like the WCW Jobber Hall of Fame, god damn!

Calling six man tags "Trios" OUTSIDE the context of Lucha
sek69 replied to David Mantell's topic in Pro Wrestling
This, and also AEW made it popular since TK is obviously a lucha fan. Funny enough, they still call the ROH titles "six man". -
If you recall, AJ was actually around a bit after Punk left. I've always suspected her retirement was less about injury and more about WWE becoming an awkward relationship once Punk went nuclear on the company.
-
She was the one who started the #GiveDivasAChance movement back in the day and was an inspiration to a lot of the new generation of women wrestlers since AJ was really the first one to speak up and demand WWE start taking them seriously. She wasn't the best in ring talent of all time but there was a period where she was the Main Character and that struck a chord with a lot of folks.

I popped for "Dalton, you son of a bitch!" Also it should be interesting where Eddie fits in with the Death Riders considering his history with Mox.
-
oh shit, Eddie Kingston getting called out on Collision!
-
Yeah after he did those UK shows, it was the easiest layup for AEW to make it permanent. Someone that passionate and knowledgeable who wants to do (and is good at) announcing is a unicorn you don't miss on.

AJ Lee finally returned, and Punk/AJ vs Seth/Becky actually should be pretty great. Also I know medicine is constantly advancing but her return made me realize how many wrestlers have returned from what was career ending neck injuries in the last couple years or so.

Yet another reason this counter programming shit will backfire, AEW marathon shows are much better when you aren't asking folks to stay up past midnight on a work/school night.
-
Iyo vs Vaquer is gonna be a banger, and I assume there will probably be some fuckery from Asuka involved costing Iyo the match.
-
Yeah I'm not sure the old WWE counter programming bit really is effective these days. For one, there's so much tribalism among wrestling fans there isn't nearly as much crossover as there used to be. Secondly, this isn't the 80s or 90s where you had two companies running PPVs and it wasn't an option financially for people to pay for both shows. If someone wants to watch both, you can watch AEW live and watch the WWE show later on Peacock/Netflix/ESPN app. AEW PPVs are going to end up on HBO Max sooner than later, and then there will be no reason to do counterprogramming nonsense.

There were technical issues messing up the stream apparently so TK said fuck it and put it on Youtube.

There's always a place in wrestling (IMO at least) for the over the top David Crockett LOOK AT HEEM TONY style color commentator marking out like someone at home would. I get how he's not going to be everyone's cup of tea but he cracks me up.

Noticed there was still no MVP when the Hurt Business came out to brawl with Ricochet and the GOA.

Jericho leaving is kind of a mixed bag to me. Clearly they don't need him in AEW anymore, and he was quickly getting go away heat with the fans, but having an OG AEW guy (which like it or not he is) jump to WWE is going to be a blow to the company perception wise. He absolutely should put over Big Bill and Keith on the way out if he's leaving, but I don't see Jericho going for that if he's headed back to WWE. Also my favorite moment of the last week or so was after the stuff with Yesca and Demoncito at Triplemania, the backstage interview person asked Harley Cameron where her Mini Mone was, and she just looked right into the camera and deadpanned "no one's doing puppets anymore". I blast-laughed at that.

Props to the guy sitting behind the commentary team with a Sid Vicious shirt. Who said the English didn't have good taste.
