  1. I'd pick 1992 Saturday Night. A period of WCW I enjoyed, but a show I didn't have access to. There's bound to be great stuff there.
  2. I loved the uncertainty over whether Lawler was full fledged heel in this match. A really unique angle.
  3. This is one of those matches I figured I knew really well, but there's still a couple of bits I'd forgotten or somehow never noticed before.... 1) Shawn going under the Spanish announce table at the beginning to take over Hugo's boot was an interesting and different little spot 2) I never noticed Shawn visually challenging Hogan during his celebration...can't believe I never spotted that before! Great match, one of my favourite WWF brawling matches of the time, and up there with my favourite Shawn matches.
  4. That line about 'I've been handcuffed, but not on TV. I've handcuffed people too' came across a little bit...weird!
  5. I liked these clips. As someone who never saw the Cyberpunks gimmick before, it seemed pretty stupid, especially the weird interviews, but I guess it was different to the audience at the time, and fits the wacky world of wrestling....and I'm guessing there is a payoff to the gimmick down the line that reveals who they are. Coolest part of the whole package for me was seeing Jesse James Armstrong with 'New Age Outlaw' on his pants. That was pretty cool to see that phrase appearing before that team was formed in the WWF.
  6. I loved this match so much! Hasegawa is one of those Joshi performers that I really haven't paid much attention to in matches. Not that she is bad by any means, she was always just there for me. But I became such a major Hasegawa supporter during this match. The slow build, the fired up Hasegawa visuals, the incredible near falls, by the end of it I was longing for Hasegawa to get the win. Tremendous match that did something few matches these days do-it got me involved!
  7. I was intrigued by the talk of Vince starting a joint promotion to rival New Japan, then his name disappearing once it started (appears to have become UWF?) . Also fascinating to see how terrible the Observer guys thought Gordon Solie was as an announcer back then
  8. Am I right in hearing them agree on a mask v mask rematch afterwards? I assume this didn't happen
  9. "I don't know what you are....me, I'm a lesbian" you never know what Piper will say. Great segment
  10. The kid being that close to the chaos is still scary and possibly somewhat irresponsible, but its a hell of an angle
  11. For decades, Heenan hated Hogan. Having him cheer Hogan as saviour would be wrong. The "you can't trust him" tone fitted perfectly with Heenan's character. Remember he also used to keep suggesting Dusty would be the third man too
  12. Better Sunny Beach spot than Herb Abrams ever featured!
  13. This was fine given it's not really 'my style' of match these days (loved that stuff back then though!). Liked the postmatch though, with a particular tag team I like turning up and Matsunaga getting all 'Mr Danger' on the fans!
  14. This was really great. I honestly had no idea what the backstory was (thanks Loss!) but it gave me enough intrigue to want to see more. Love the Dave Meltzer line, that was a nice touch!

  16. Can't remember if it was this one or not, but I was amazed at the gall they had showing the letter from Bischoff with his signature showing clearly on tv
  17. I didn't have cable in 1996 so a lot of the WWF stuff is new to me. I genuinely don't recall if I've seen this match before but I loved it. Crisp work by both guys and Cornette. Loved Owen playing off HBK's handslapping antics and getting caught for it, and his arrogance in wanting to get a pin being his downfall. Great match
  18. PG13...Wolfie D especially...have been a discovery for me. Liking them a lot more than in the little I had seen before. Love Jesse James line "we Armstrongs are winners". Brandon looks like Josh Matthews in a Stryper wig but works great. Good stuff throughout this.
