  1. I'm glad Molly is going in. It's deserved. My favorite thing is how like, zero people have anything bad to say about her. Even some of the biggest assholes in shoot interviews when giving names in rapid fire succession are all like "...I don't know why she was in wrestling. She was too sweet to be in this shit business."
  2. I think the show tonight will be really important in how AEW is perceived moving forward. There's going to be some ill-will from the Pay-Per-View on Sunday, especially from the people that paid $50 during a pandemic to watch it. So they need to do something, and I don't think they should just ignore it or make a joke of it.
  3. Oh, absolutely, 100%. Revolution was their first real "miss" & tonight, how they respond, will answer a lot of questions. I also think that when fans can come back is when AEW will really catch on. The shows felt special with the fans before the pandemic. It was like you were a part of something cool, which WWF has not had in... twenty years. Everyone seemed like they were having a blast, both in the crowd & in the ring both & that is an environment that people will want to be in. Especially with AEW seemingly being so much more inclusive than any other big wrestling company in the past.
  4. It's interesting because when I think of people I would love to see outside of WWE - people just from WWE mind you, other than Rusev/Miro & FTR, I'm surprised at some of the people they have brought in. Alesister Black & Zelina Vega would be awesome. CM Punk & A.J. Lee I'm sure are the longest of shots. I doubt Andrade is leaving WWE anytime soon especially with his involvement with Charlotte Flair. Of course the name of Jericho from the jump helped & grabbing Moxley was huge on that first PPV. But it has felt lackluster since then. Sting? Matt Hardy? Jake Hager? Shawn Spears? Trent? The Big Show? I feel like it's giving the opposite feeling than it should be. Well, Brodie Lee was great too. But people online are starting to make comparisons to TNA wrestling & talking about the age of the signees & shit. Then on the PPV the big Hall of Fame signing was Christian, whom as we've all discussed is a helluva worker but it feels disappointing still, as a surprise. Even if you weren't expecting a Brock Lesnar or John Cena huge name like some crazies on Twitter, it just didn't feel like a big surprise. I know early on in AEW's history we specifically talked about how AEW shouldn't just sign anyone & everyone & that they should be more selective on the people they fill their roster up with. That's still true but now the roster is getting filled up with these people that are, now, taking spots away from other talent. Like Sting is getting in-ring time on Dynamite & PPVs now. I love Sting & I know he's a huge name & he's not really that associated with WWE as a whole but is his name still bringing in the eyeballs to make it worth it? Or did they bring him in just because Cody Rhodes wants to relive the era of his daddy while bringing in Sting & the Horsemen? They also need to seriously consider that Jim Ross can't do commentary anymore & is actively hurting the product. I feel like the strong parts of the AEW roster right now are the AEW prospects that people don't know from elsewhere or at least from U.S. promotions or WWE. Sammy Guevera, Darby Allin, Adam Page, Fenix, Britt Baker - people like that. If anything, I think AEW should consider letting some people go now. The roster is getting too big, even with another show coming.

Kenny Omega Vs. Jon Moxley in the lights out, unsanctioned hardcore match at Full Gear the first time around was insane. But finding out you're going to be a father changes a man & I wouldn't blame Moxley if he took it a bit easier than the first go around as a result, honestly. And even still, look at all he took in the match & how much color he got. So if that's a Moxley night off imagine if Renee wasn't pregnant!

What did people expect? I expected what I had seen in other Exploding Ring Deathmatches. They even had Onita ON THE SHOW! So obviously they were referencing the match existing outside of AEW.

Well, I'll also remember that the ending to the main event Exploding Ring Barbed Wire Deathmatch on a $50 Pay-Per-View was due to a run-in from Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows. The exploding barbed wire bat was cool. The making the ropes blow up to break-up a pinfall was cool. The One Winged Angel on a chair looked like death. I liked those things. But the match had more problems than just the sparklers at the end.

This is what I said on Twitter. If that ring did actually blow up & Eddie sacrificed himself to save his friend, that's some top tier babyface hero shit, man. He would have been MADE.

Man. That's not a good look.

Don Callis is infinitely more entertaining on commentary than Jim Ross. I really like what he's added to this match.

    Indeed. It's the little things.

Tony Schiavone covering for it was awesome though. "That's in case medical personnel need to get into the ring!"

Here's your exact post, C.S. How are people misreading what you said? You said he's a "top five Attitude Era guy". That's an exact quote.

    AEW Revolution

C.S., are you putting Christian above The Rock, Steve Austin, Mick Foley, Triple H, The Undertaker, Vince McMahon himself or Kurt Angle for a top 5 in the Attitude Era? Because that's already more than five guys from that era. And if we're talking about just work, then you have the likes of guys like Eddie & Benoit to deal with.

Brian Cage carrying Darby up the stairs in a vertical suplex was the top moment of the entire PPV so far.

He's a mid card guy in a sea of mid card guys. Just like when they brought in Matt Hardy. That's my issue. I'm not touching the Top 5 nonsense. Great worker for sure but AEW isn't lacking in the workrate department. They're lacking in the "why should I watch this?" department on cable TV.

Even in a pre-recorded cinematic match, Sting isn't coming anywhere close to taking his shirt off lmao

The thing is, regardless of the rest of the card, if the Deathmatch & big reveal both come through, the show will be a success.

Shida prob had MOTN so far but I think it's more been the other matches underdelivering so far than it was their match overdelivering.
