  1. I've retired from bothering about the naming of moves du to dying of boredom after japanophile would go on about why a Uranage as called by US Commentators isn't a Uranage in the Japanese Language on the UKFF and I'm boring myself again just thinking about it. Some people really suck the fun out of wrestling.
  2. I saw the butterfly as the biggest one as it did the most damage of the three on WWF Warzone for the PS and Dave Taylor used it as a finish at the time. Simple thinking for a simple 12 year old.
  3. Yeah. There's just something about him I don't like, and I think that thing is him. He always strikes me as a dick so I can't bring myself to like him. That and that horrid top rope elbow.
  4. Or Neil Ruddock, o Neville Southall, or former Wales prop forward Ben Evans, or Shane Warne, several baseball players, and many many more. Watts looks athletic enough. Late 80s Vinnie Jones looked athletic though. Very muscular.
  5. I was also pretty baffled by this when I saw it -- this guy had absolutely no clue what he was watching. Outside of the standard F4W 'crew'. I only really enjoy Stephen Lyons writing style as it pertains to columns or reviews. Really? I'm always amazed how he's been doing it for about 12plus years and has never shown any improvement. Don't rate him at all as a writer or reviewer.
  6. Survivor Series 92 felt super transitional at the time. After Warrior pulled out it was "Here's Mr Perfect", and Bret vs Shawn has hardly sold at all. It felt like an Intercontinental match to be honest, and it still seems that way watching it now. Sprig of parsley and a jacket potato next to the steak.
  7. To sum the original issue up in a sentence, Rick Rude would have been lost in the shuffle. He was done by then. He was never a real main eventer anyway, it always felt forced with Rude.
  8. If crowd reactions really mattered Hulk Hogan in 2002-3 would have drawn more in those two years than anyone else ever could have.
  9. Has anyone gone through a phase where they can't be arsed talking or watching wrestling? I'm 28 now, I started watching wrestling when I was 5 watching the Von Erich's old tapes and USWA on Satellite in the UK. And I've been almost Aspergers about the whole thing, but has anyone else here reached a point when it's too much? How can I get the enjoyment back? Have I ODed on it over the years?
  10. James Mason is after footage of himself in Michinoku Pro, especially in Koruaken. If anyone's got any can you drop us a PM? Thanks.
  11. Who's the worst referee? Fat Teddy Long?
  12. If that was still going today the odd folks that comment on squashes on youtube ("Wow, look at that muscle bear crush that pretty boy jobber. Look how his tights ride up his arse") would make it very very popular.
  13. I think evidence of how big it was in 1992 or so was Sky's regular showing of an advert for a Wrestling chatline which had a Tom Zenk promo on screen dubbed over by a V/O artist who was British which was plugging the service.
  14. The masochist in me really wants to see Hardwork Bobby Walker vs Chad Brock.
  15. Have faith, it gets pretty good after Sin. It's just too late.
  16. Actually, yeah. Wheelflair was solid gold. One of the funniest things I ever saw. Especially when he was trying to wheel away from a very slowly walking Hulk Hogan like something from a sitcom.
  17. I had a telly in my room so I still watched Gladiators and Noel's House Party.
  18. Yeah, but when I was 15 I thought Biker Taker was the coolest motherfucker ever. Big fuck off bikers are cool when you're a teen. Like how Vince Russo booking seems amazing.
  19. The only time wrestling made me cry is when Barbarian and Butch Reed beat Barry Windham and Dustin Rhodes when I was 7 in 1992 because they cheated and after the tears I had a massive kick off about it and was sent to bed with no tea.
  20. In 1992, WWF probably would have drawn in the UK with The Boston Blackie on top.
  21. People loved the Bulldog around here. People had the T-shirt, and I used to see a framed poster of him in loads of shops around that time. And the whole world had the British Bulldogs VHS.
  22. Can't see it on Dave, and Bravo hasn't existed for three years. I honestly can't think of a place for Britwres other than ITV4 and I can't see that happening either. Perhaps it's been recorded for International syndication?
  23. It was Roode who won the BFG series and Hogan and Bisch decided he wasn't the guy and put Angle over him at BFG, wasn't it?
  24. I suppose the closest to an Indy we had in North Wales as a child was Orig Williams' promotion based out of Rhyl or somewhere which, of course, was shown on S4C as Reslo. Usually get decent crowds, about 200ish in my local hall, maybe more. He had a WCW ring which they'd wrestle in, and only recently I finally found out why. There was nothing too exciting here really. Just a Doink the Clown, William Regal wrestling as a mute Welshman blue-eye so no-one would find out he was English, Dave Taylor doing a disco gimmick, and a really really ill looking Dynamite Kid in 1994. PN News was up here loads as well. I remember a show and he was against Tony St. Clair when I was about 9, and this kid next to me shouts at News "Fuck off you fat cunt!" to which News replies "I bet your parents are proud of you, huh?!" and the lad's father replies "I am, you fat fucking yank cunt!" to which News didn't look best pleased about at all. I'll see what else I can remember when I'm not half dead.
  25. Fuck all. Suppose they might have some stuff for another CM Punk DVD down the line.
