The Best of Titans of Wrestling Volume #3
Ricky Jackson replied to Ricky Jackson's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Marvel at how crappy my mic sounded for the first year plus of the show! -
https://soundcloud.com/jerryvonkramer/the-best-of-titans-of-wrestling-volume-3-the-bios-of-chief-jay-historian?in=jerryvonkramer/sets/the-best-of-titans-of I put this comp of wrestler bios from Titans together almost a year ago, and then my laptop broke and I couldn't do anything about it. I have finally been able to access my old laptop today, so here you go, better late than never. Originally, I had planned to record an intro explaining which bios are featured, but I never got around to it and was too lazy to record one tonight. The bios featured are from the first 30-something episodes of Titans of Wrestling: Baron Scicluna El Olympico Tor Kamata Wolfman Steve King Black Demon Pete Doherty Killer Khan Dominic F'N DeNucci! The first two Best of comps can be found here https://soundcloud.com/jerryvonkramer/sets/the-best-of-titans-of Also, look out for something Titans-related that is much more exciting than this on the weekend, fans!

What do you want the answer to be, that evil Vince McMahon and the evil WWE forced Bryan to retire because he was wrecking their plans for Roman Reigns and all the news coming out about why he retired is just a bunch of lies?

Meltzer's bio on Joe Garagiola/history of St. Louis wrestling and the "Wrestling at the Chase" TV show in the latest Observer is a fantastic read

Verne is the highest Golden Age guy on my list. (I also voted for Thesz, Rogers and Gorgeous George)

That's the one with the legendary front facelock nap by Andre that he hadn't yet perfected in the Cap Centre match

Lucha Afterground Podcast
Ricky Jackson replied to Ricky Jackson's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Bumping this to shamelessly hype my appearance on this pod the other day. I joined Travis and Max for a review of the fucking awesome Aztec Warfare II episode. Once again, if you are into Lucha Underground give this show a listen https://soundcloud.com/lucha-afterground/lucha-underground-s2-e9-aztec-warfare-2 -
Since it's the go home show for Mania, I'm watching Raw for the first time since after the Royal Rumble. I missed the opening segment, which sounded like it got over big with the live audience. Pretty much everything I've seen though has just served to remind me why I only watch the big shows and NXT. Just a mix of mostly not over talent, beyond horrible commentary, and boring programs. There is top notch talent here, but it often gets lost in a sea of banality. Crowd is definitely hot for Sami and Owens

Just get a VPN for your computer ($50 a year) and sign up for the US version dude

I've got Rick at 11. Top that!

Sometimes things just don't record, seemingly at random. It's happened to me a few times

I'm guessing Bayley doesn't go up to the main roster yet but I could be wrong. Balor has had a good run and should probably move up
-
Yeah, that's so true. If you were a certain age in the 80s and 90s you went from being a kid and worshipping these superheroes to being a teenager/ young adult and seeing everything become corrupted

How about sneaking over you friend's house to watch Royal Rumble 94 and ... MAINLY being there to root for IRS's bid to win the IC title from Razor? I'm wondering if that made me legit the least coolest kid in the world for a few minutes there in 94. I was forlorn when he lost. I was rooting for IRS that day too, being a full on teenage heel fan at the time

Not to "out" anyone, but I know Pete can geek it up with the best of them. If you want to talk about wrestling being geeky, being a fan in the early - mid 90s made you a freakin GEEK, without single shred of coolness. I miss those days sometimes
-
Sounds perfect

I hardly watch anything other than the big shows, but it seems to me that New Day have been stripped down to almost a parody of themselves in the last few months or so and have lost their edge
-
Thanks for the upload. Yes, this card was almost too good. Next time I feel like we need to dig something up from the 70s to bring us back to our true, crappy roots
-
Luck of the draw. Sometimes 80s WWF wasn't a total wasteland of crap Anyway, Iron Mike Sharpe vs SD Jones makes up for it by being a contender for worst match seen on Mystery Titans
-
You'll be missing out on a damn good tag title match and an awesome main event

Kelly and Johnny are back to guide you through yet another WWF spectacular, this time the 10/13/1985 "Hulkamania" card from Maple Leaf Gardens! In honor of the GWE, 7% of Kelly's top 100 are present, including no less than 3 men from his top ten and his overall number 1! And in honor of bad taste, plenty of talk about Ron Garvin's nipples!

Yeah those were excellent. Being a big 70s wrestling history guy I really loved the Einhorn bio
