  1. Flair really needs to call it a day on the public life. I get irrationally angry every time I see one of his dumbass Every Word Has To Be Capitalized tweets. The guy is a joke
  2. Sad/funny to see tons of WWE lifers propping up Rollins as the best option to replace Brock. God Vince would be proud of their devotion to his teachings of banality
  3. Could be even worse than Vince then
  4. I'm actually pretty intrigued by a post-Vince WWE creative. Or is everything so deeply ingrained that nothing will really change?
  5. I didn't really like Hogan as a kid either, although I was enthralled by his big matches, like against Orndorff in the cage on SNME and Mania 3 vs Andre. I loved the Bulldogs, Tito Santana, Ricky Steamboat, Piper, and Owen Hart in Stampede. Later I became a huge Savage fan and the whole Megapowers exploding deal actually led to me losing interest in wrestling for a while because I was disillusioned Savage was turned heel because of it
  6. Isn't the rating due to interest in Vince and the scandal?
  7. Stampede is of course notorious for clipped matches, so match recommendations aren't really the way to go. I grew up on 1986-89 Stampede, so if you can find a good run of full shows from then, especially 86-87, you should have a fun time. You've probably come across this, but if not this playlist has a good sampling of full shows, although frustratingly not in chronological order
  8. Pretty much what Reel stated, a few clips and a couple Baba matches. There is/was also a 1969 match vs George Steele that was a Hidden Gems upload on the Network a few years back. As a long time Bruno lover, warms my heart to see all the love here
  9. Two Titans of comics two weekends in a row. George Perez passed away last night
  10. Danielson vs Okada seems like a no-brainer dream match if it's possible
  11. Just finished Night Force, the Wolfman/Colan book from 82-83, which reunited the Tomb of Dracula team at DC (minus inker Tom Palmer). I really wanted to like this. It has its strong points, such as lead character Baron Winters, and the initial seven-part story arc, combining horror, adventure, science fiction and Cold War espionage, is pretty good, but the remaining 7 issues are nothing special. In fact, I would avoid the final 4 issues completely, as the book goes off the rails and the series ends with a whimper. Finally reading 60s Doom Patrol and it's really fun. Also finally reading Jason Aaron's Thor run from the beginning and I love it so far. Still on the Dick Tracy train, and to add to my classic newspaper strip reading, I'm ambitiously attempting to go through Li'l Abner from the beginning. I know Al Capp turned out to be scum, but I've been intrigued by this strip for years and finally have the means to read a large chunk of it if I want. We'll see how it goes. Also reading Roy Thomas-era Avengers, 70s Phantom Stranger and about to dive into Kubert's Tarzan, which I read bits and pieces of many years ago but never the whole run
  12. My compliments to whoever came up with that as a name for the podcast. Brilliant
  13. I think Michaels and Goldust worked a ladder match at Exhibition Stadium in TO in the summer of 96, maybe other places
  14. Has this been around for years and I was just not aware of it?
  15. Yeah, after thinking more about the whole thing, my pro wrestling brain is probably clouding my better judgment lol
  16. Seems like a work to me, but the overwhelming consensus in the media is that it was a shoot, which is strange in a modern world so quick to scream "fake" at everything and embrace insane conspiracies as truth
  17. One my favorites to watch back in the 90s. Pretty underrated as a major star and as a wrestler imo. Great character stuff and great matches. RIP
  18. Yep, that was right before the blowoff I believe
  19. Call me crazy, but I was a big fan of the Tye Dillinger vs Eric Young feud in NXT from 2016-17. Just solid progression over several months, climaxing in a satisfying cage match blowoff
  20. Yeah, I remember being shocked during an early D-X skit shot somewhere in New York where a fan came up to shake X-Pac's hand and Pac towered over him
  21. Yeah, definitely one of the best wrestler autobiographies as far as deep diving on their career goes (well, at least his career up to 1984)
  22. It's because an accent was used on the second "o" in Colon. Using a unique character in the title always breaks a thread
  23. Yeah, I considered checking out the mag but wasn't sure if it advanced the story or not. I'm going to check out the Dr. Strange storyline with Dracula from a few years later. Also going to read Night Force soonish, the book Wolfman/Colan did together at DC in the early 80s
