  1. Odd thread, didn't notice it at all.
  2. Decent rumble, pretty boring show overall. There's no one to believe in, I mean they're all berks ain't they? You've got two guys like Ambrose and Owens who've been feuding for months yet where are the standout angles or promos? Have there been any at all? The match was fine for what it was but I'm completely numb to these WWE novelty matches by now. New day were on point and fun all night but as I've no use for the matches. They need to be elevated somehow, they're so beyond The Usos/Dudly's and whoever. The video build to the diva's title bout was well done. The match itself was the usual sloppy botch job but the presentation and layout was good and a pleasant surprise (notice they didn't shoe in any 'divas revolution' lines). Lynch is a charismatic performer, it'd be unwise to lose her in the shuffle. Don't care about Del Rio matches, why would I? The rumble was enjoyable for the most part. There were several questionable and outright stupid moments that have already been covered. Ambrose should have won. I've little problem with Himself winning, don't know how much that's down to apathy though.

    NXT talk

As a Kana fan I thought it could only be right to check her out in NXT, despite my general disinterest in wrestling these days. It was a decent show that was worth the watch. Random dribble . . Had no idea Zayne is back from injury, hope he's holding up well. Joe was shockingly good in the opening segment, Corbin's still a complete dolt but I think he's miscast in all honesty. Drop the silent mysterious crap, he's trailer sleaze. Run with it. Enzo's hair is fabulous. Give Danny Burch the gimmick of a West Ham football hoolie and I'd be tuning in every week. Great to see him back, getting in some offence none the less! I'm guessing Ciampa's an indie dude. That top rope slingshot thing he did was terrible. Back end of this match was great, totally stiffing the shit out of each other in there. Skipped the tag. Scott Dawson's very good but I'm not sure if they should be holding the belts, at least not with that team name and gimmick. The mini pre-battle royal promo's were a nice touch, if a bit . . . weird. Nice surprise to see Jessie McKay there. Asuka's promo though. Creepy. As. Fuck. And the highlight of the show. (along with Eva Marie's atrocious/amazing acting in the hilarious Jax segment). Have they signed Portia Perez yet? Her and Alexa Bliss would be great dastardly heel team. Bliss is probably the future of the Divas division. The match itself was pretty awful until the fun closing. Emma was clearly the match standout even though it was dumb to babyface her before Asuka kicked her out. Asuka's elimination was handled fairly well, as long as they don't continue to make her look stupid to get heat on Marie. From the little I've seen it looks like they're doing a good job with Asuka, which is cool. I'm also interested to see what's been happening in mens title picture. I'll have to track down the London show. Can't say I even noticed the commentary. I suppose that's a . . good thing?
  5. People will always hate on him but I found Sheamus more entertaining this week than Rollins ever was during his run. He looks like he's having fun out there and I hope this is the beginning of him finding his feet as a character. From the other bits of Raw I watched the only other thing that seemed notable was the near silent crowd. Dodo Dead. Has this been the norm for the last couple of months?
  6. She's my number two.
  7. Is this actually a theory that exists? I don't really get the " wrestlers don't play to the crowd" criticism. Several wrestlers do it. They're just not very good at it (i.e. Sheamus).
  8. Roman/Brock is one of the greatest matches of all time. Sasha/Bayley will be forgotten by the time the next Critically Acclaimed NXT Womens Match is being fawned over.
  9. He's very much alive.
  10. Yes definitely. And Rollins is pretty crap.
  11. This panel would be awesome as a regular thing. Fanfuckingtastic show.
  12. Chad talking about his number one pick was the most beautiful and genuinely touching thing I've heard on on a wrestling podcast and the perfect crescendo to end this labour of love. Amazing stuff. I can almost forgive him for putting MX/RnRs so low and overlooking Funk/Lawler. Parvs list was full of surprises. Solid modern picks, Reigns/Lesnar definitely belongs in there and like Parv I find it laughable some are put the NXT women's matches in the same ballpark. Bill Watts/JYD vs MX may be my favourite pick of the whole bunch. I've completely gone off wrestling right now but these podcasts are a blessing and still make for fun listening.
  13. Ay caramba! That happened? Finally a match that doesn't stink like a musty old cardigan. Gonna have to tune into the beginning of raw.
  14. Absolutely shit news.
  15. Fucking kindles
  16. Except that doesn't make it any less racist. Just because a person's racism was accepted, doesn't mean that they weren't being racist. Slavery was legal and acceptable for hundreds of years, but it was also really fucking racist. Just because someone grew up racist, and did a bunch of racist shit, when racism was a more socially acceptable doesn't excuse them from being a racist. Sure if someone who has been raised in a more tolerant time makes us think worse than the people who were raised in the less tolerant time, but their social crimes are exactly the same. One of the reasons that racism, sexism, and homophobia won't go away is because people always make excuses why someone's prejudice is acceptable. If we treated it all of it the same for everyone we'd probably be better off, but instead we pick and choose who we want to give an out. What a load of tosh, and you completely ignored MJHs point. Growing up as a brown boy in a small town I heard the word 'half caste' plenty of times, with zero racist intentions. I think I know my friends and family more than you do. That's why it's hard to have an intelligent conversation about racism or discrimination of any kind - it gets swallowed up by sweeping, reactionary statements like this. People forget the nuance and see things only in . . *cough*, black and white. As for Meltzer, well I'm glad some of you guys read him so I don't have to.😉
  17. At the end of the day, building a sustainable, healthy division around such limited talent isn't possible. With an hour long, under the radar show like NXT, three to four (at best) decent to good workers can get away with pulling of a good match every month or so (the specials). But that shit ain't gonna fly on the unforgiving, fast-paced environment of the main roster. Not until you employ more women who are good at being wrestlers. Can any of the divas cut a promo?
  18. I'll give it three weeks till the start of 'Goldberg' chants, tops.
  19. Fun show that's managed to heighten my interest in the indie scene. I now kinda love Baron Corbin after hearing them stories. Wish Naylor didn't always sound like he is calling from inside a phone booth at the bottom of a swimming pool.
  20. I thought I was alone. Totally agree with Parv on SS Austin/Bret. I love an old school bout but this felt very by the numbers. Austin wasn't at all engaging as a heel and Bret was dry Bret. It never sparked or hit me. Austin's best singles match at that point was vs Dustin.
  21. That's what was so refreshing about Stewart. Even though he was a bit rubbish out there on his own he doesn't follow the unnatural my-turn-your-turn promo style of the scripted wrestlers. I finally got through Raw after almost a week, and you know what? It was a good show. Post-Mania lite. You can poke halls in it but i approve the current use of Sting and the Dudley's. Devon's slowed down but Bubba's still got it and the crowd ate it up. Xavier Woods is amazing. I'm looking forward to seeing what Sting and Rollins do. Sting's hair is an atrocity.
  22. John Cena Randy Orton Hhh Sami Zayne(?) Alexa Bliss
  23. Yeah, the division wont get any better until Vince is done/ pops his clogs. 'Til then, make it NXT exclusive and stick the Bellas in a non wrestling role.
  24. It's a huge match that makes him loads of money. It does more for Brock than wrestling Cesaro. Edit: what an earth is CTC? Cyclists Touring Club?
  25. Was the match as rubbish as the promo segment? Are we meant to applaud them for being no good at their job? Jon Stewart needs to fuck off already. Guys been awful last couple of appearances. Loved the Dudleys return. New Day is on such a completely different level to everything else right now, it's shocking. Some genuine comedic and musical prowess there. I'd already tapped out long before the Sting appearance but him vs Rollins is all cool in my books.
