  1. Ill add some love for Survivor Series 1990 because whoever won went to a grand final match. I didnt mind the Gooker either as a kid loved it.
  2. Current day WWE would have had them tease a break up before a showdown at Wrestlemania. Always wondered what would have happened had Rude and Perfect faced each other in the ring. My fav part of the Rumble apart from the obvious was Piper and Savage tussling as Jake and Dibiase battled.

Hogan has to induct him right? Was there any B+ level celebrity he was close to? I could see Choice #1: Hogan, Choice #2: Seth Green. I hope Liz goes in with Randy. As to who would accept the award id say Lanny Poffo but who would induct Randy? Warrior isnt with us but I suppose they could always ask Flair.
  4. Yeah I know I havent enjoyed a current Rumble in a long time and the Rumble is the one match I go out of my way to watch in full each year, not so much the PPV but the actual match. I dunno when quality dropped for me but it deff dropped for sure doing the first ever 40 man Rumble and some guy wins it. Never saw the appeal in Del Rio to be honest considering his match at Mania went on first. I think id have preferred Kevin Nash to win that year than what we got. Ortons Rumble was lackluster too.
  5. I dont think so no. Ive checked the dates of all the 1992 House Shows I have and there isnt one match at all as just seems to be Shango/Warrior matches from fall 92.
  6. My guess was business was down and the roster was depleted so they had to put something out there? I do remember watching Prime time and they did a Big Bully Busick vs Brooklyn Brawler match. Think they even had a rematch the following week.

I doubt it. Reigns will never get that good or have a fan reaction like Bill used to.
  8. At the time I did wonder why Booker was getting the belt on the final show and just figured Steiner wasent part of the buying contracts.
  9. I like the continuity angle from 89 where DiBiase had bought the #30 ticket last time but drew #1 this time, and then that feeds right through the match where he goes iron man, suggestions he paid off Savage -- the 3-way with him and Jake is one of the great Rumble moments in my view. And it pays off with the massive pop and the Warrior elimination, which then pays off itself with the Hogan showdown. I like the sort of one-night angles they'd do on PPVs at that time. The submission match doesnt get enough love like it should. Valentine/Garvin was a pretty decent match.

Knowing WWE they would get bored of it. Remember when they had Ryback squash guys when he debuted and they seemingly got bored of the idea of having him undefeated and now he just tends to lose to anybody.

What bugged me for years is that they wouldnt give him a run with a World title and then watched talkwrestling on the net and they asked the same thing and the guys opinion said apparently Vince doesnt see Christian as a Main Eventer. WTF?? So in a way I was glad Christian went to TNA so he could win a NWA World Title there and I suppose once Edge retired he asked as a favour to him to put the belt on Christian which was long overdue. I know he was the WWECW Champ but people tend to say it doesnt count.
  12. I dont think id enjoy the show if all they do is slag WCW off as it always had a special place in my heart and really loved that promotion. As far as not pushing people I remember Jericho getting pushed way too often I yet to recall a show when he wasent wearing a title. If he dropped it they did a story where he would always be given the title back. In a way for me I looked at 1995 WCW as a what if we never got the new generation in WWF. So id tune into Nitro and watch matches like Savage/Luger, Hogan/Luger or Hogan & Bret as a tag team which I always like to think that would have happened had Vince not recruited a bunch of new stars in 1994. Change isnt always a good thing.
  13. And Raven has talked at length about how shitty his memory is from those days . . . . Would it have been better to get Dreamer or Taz?
  14. Best ever Royal Rumble Match has to be 1990. Not one wrestler was out of place in that match that deserved to be in it, even the Rooster who I knew as Terry Taylor was a decent wrestler and had wrestled for the NWA and had some big matches against Flair, well thats what WCCW led me to believe on Lifestyle/Screen Sport channels. I wasent a fan of the 92 Rumble at all even though Heel Ric Flair won the thing as I wanted Hogan to win or Sid as long as it wasent a Heel. What spoiled 92 was apart from a heel going over was they put Jerry Sags in the match which to be fair he had no business being lodged into a Championship match in that show. The Mountie should have been in that match instead.

Sounds like the idea of adding Seth is because he can job to Cena in the match so neither Brock/Cena get pinned. I think id prefer WWE more if they ditched the Authority as the Corporation in the 90s was bad enough but fans have grown up past that and know the ins and outs of the business so a owner ruining a show just doesnt work in 2015. Notice how they wasent missed when they were gone.
  18. I dont see why Vince was so against it. Yeah they said the new generation but so what you mean to tell me that a great champion from the old generation battles a top guy from the new generation do battle at 10 years of mania and Shawn wins? Whats so bad with that? I suppose they forget people that like Bret, Slaughter had been in the WWF a decade previously by 94 ish. I enjoyed the feud on the UK circuit ie the London & Germany matches.
  19. I remember koko and Frankie. I think their may have been some babyfaces who submitted to Martel's Boston other than Koko. Paul Roma springs to mind .
  20. He was still with WCW in January 1995 I think which is when it was broadcast.

When is this going to end? Its one thing to be disapointed when your fav wrestler doesnt appear or win but to just shit on a main event because you wanted something to happen that doesnt seems a tad disrespectful to the business. Is this going to happen for the next 4 years boo whoever wins the Rumble unless its Bryan? For me this could have been avoided. Had they not screwed Bryan over at Summerslam and instead let him reign up to the Chamber where Hunter screws him out of the belt and Orton wins in Feb so batista wins the Rumble faces Orton 1 on 1 in the main event and Bryan/HHH battle at Mania where they do some stip Bryan loses he retires but if he wins he gets a rematch against the winner at the next ppv.

Whats so wrong with Brock getting pinned? Hes not invincible and lost a few matches during his original run. Him being champion has been a terrible idea from creative because the belt isnt being defended at every PPV. From a business standpoint why should a fan buy a PPV that doesnt feature a WWE Championship match for the Heavyweight belt? As for the Rumble im guessing if Reigns wins the fans will turn on him and boo him out of the building because they will want Bryan to win the Rumble.
  24. I used to love watching Beefcake wrestle when I was a kid. Not so much keen on his run in WCW when he was a heel in the DOD but never found the guy boring. Suprised he never went higher up than he did. I don't know how much higher he could have went in the WWF, to be honest. He often seemed to slot in as the face that if you beat, it meant you were a somebody...thes step before Hogan, Ulty, and the rest of the guys at the very top. A run as a tag champ and partner of Hogan's with IC title chases added in and he did pretty well, all things considered. I was never a fan of his but I didn't hate him. He was given a good spot and didn't fuck it up, which is good on him. When I saw him wrestle on TV I dont think I ever saw him get pinned at all. Id probably say 88 ish to 90 is the time I would remember him as didnt get WWF in the mid 80s so never knew anything about Dream Team or being managed by Johnny V but if he lost it seemed to be a double Countout or a double DQ. Beefcake seemed to well on televised matches & PPVs. I think he may have lost the odd match at the garden that the NY area saw but was he due to have a IC title run at Summerslam by being Perfect? It seemed that way considering Kerry won the belt at this show and Beefcake had already beaten Perfect at mania. As a kid seemed a cheap way that Curt didnt get a haircut and read the stories about it was mainly jobbers who only agreed to do it apart from Jimmy hart or Lanny Poffo.
  25. It made no sense why Steamboat didnt get the win in any of the matches. Jericho was well past his prime during this time so Ricky putting him over seemed a bit pointless. They could have easily had Steamboat get the win on Raw but just seemed odd Steamboat never beat Jericho. Kinda irritated me at the time as one of those 3 Legends at mania should have beaten him due to Rourke helping the guy out. Some fans might as bought into Jericho beating 3 legends in the one match but I didnt.
