Listen, Rollins can do a Phoenix Splash so he's automatically at minimum a top three worker on the roster.
-
He did use the monkey flip last night, though.
-
Reigns-Sheamus was exceptional stuff (LOVED the counter to the apron dropkick spot) but I can't think of two guys more likely to put on a great match and have it be dismissed right now than those two.
-
Is it accurate to say that WWE has never gotten closer to WarGames than with this match, as counterintuitive as that might seem when comparing the two gimmicks?
-
I have fond memories for that era of Steph as a character.

How much did Otsuka do in PWFG before getting to Bat-Bat?
-
I'd say that Rey had a very good match and performance even just last year, in a SmackDown tag with Bryan/Sheamus against the Shield.
-
The Mysterio match from 2011 really is a great supersprint.
-
I have unconditional love for the Mamaluke-Rave 2/3 falls match (10/11/03). I think that Rave was pretty great throughout his CZW run, really.

The Trial Of Paul Heyman (Podcast question)
Bierschwale replied to JaymeFuture's topic in Pro Wrestling
If we're going to have an extended Heyman thread, I need to see if I'm right on what I think that Dylan's theory about the FBI is. True Romance, right? -
Goldust started using the Code Red in October 2013.

He's HHH's Human Avatar who has his Blessing and Power to do His Good Work. He's HHH except with HHH there to constantly book him to be a worse version.

If you put Tenta in that period of All Japan, and he had a match with a native that was worked with the native's general gameplan, I feel like that who'd make for the best match would probably be Taue on my first thought, if not even Baba himself.

Sign Super Dragon and run a Dragon-Parka blood feud.

Exile on Badstreet #7 = Underground Kingz
Bierschwale replied to KrisZ's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Yeah, as a CZW fan from just the TV, the Wildside & MS feuds felt HUGE because there's The Lost Boyz and Blackout or Ian Rotten and Nate Webb against the H8 Club and Mondo. Super Dragon and B-Boy coming East for Best of the Best '02. The IWS breakout in '04 was the last real gasp of it there. It'll never not be weird to me to see people talk about Owens-Zayn in the context of PWG or RoH, as though that's the origin. -
The genesis of Slim J, everyone.

Rosemont is top five for the US at worst.
-
I really doubt that I could cook up a ballot and be happy with it, but my current MOTD is Hell No/Ryback-Shield and I can't comfortably justify a vote for anyone but Bryan from it. (And #2 is Shield-Wyatt Family, which is even worse.) No case for Yoshiko Tamura either, and I love the Toshie match like little else.
-
He did a run-in on Breeze and Xavier Woods and destroyed them both.

I'm saying that Owens, while not a dead ringer, is the closest comparison to Ouellet that there can be from having trained under him in the Quebec indies and being so physically similar. Card status is irrelevant in that comparison (and because Cena has always shined in midcard showcase matches).
-
I'd say that he's better than his mentor, but it's funny that you bring this up when we just saw Cena & Kevin Owens have an MOTYC (and at minimum, a significantly better match than Bret-JPL, a match that I like a great deal). I think that Cena-Ouellet would absolutely be a better match than Bret-Owens.
-
He's at over 1,000 career matches, which puts him over every indie guy without a long WWE main roster stay/10-15 Japanese tours.
-
I'm ready to completely lose my shit the next time I see Zayn's tope tornado DDT. The one that he hits on Breeze in the fatal four-way from September that turns into a delayed snap suplex is an abomination.

A thread in which Dylan compares various wrestlers to HHH
Bierschwale replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in The Microscope
I've thought about Alex Wright in HHH's place, too. Obviously Steph likes them older, but Das Wunderkind was a total blowjob. Imagine the European market under his iron-fisted rule. He'd have been great for business.
