  1. Bryan did get stuck with Kane, but they didn't get put in the undercard. It did headline over Shield/Evolution and were set to with the rematch too before Bryan's injury. I agree that Shield looked their best off the Evolution feud, that final win felt like a real "taking down the machine" moment and they looked like total stars doing a clean sweep in that war of a match. Didn't care for breaking up the next night but at that moment finishing off Triple H last, they were on fire.
  2. Guessing when the Shield ran through Evolution last year, June 2014.
  3. I thought Sheamus was fine as far as being over during his world title reign. Great matches all year with lots of opponents throughout the reign up to and including the great Big Show series.
  4. WWE's recognizing Flair as 6x US Champ, as the original post lists 5 so I guess Cena's now 1 behind in each title. I wouldn't imagine he'd do another drop and regain with the US but it's always possible. Did find it interesting they acknowledged Flair's US reigns vs Cena's tonight.
  5. Part of the build is that Orton was taken out by the Wyatts so it's not him. Kane it may be, if so I hope The Demon Kane returns. Jericho does make some sense with his history with the Wyatts and he's working the MSG Show in 2 weeks.
  6. I have never understood why the Shield triple threat has always been such a constant idea brought up especially for Mania. Don't really see it being that different or special from the four way with Orton earlier this year which was great and had the little Shield reunion spot in it. Reigns/Rollins is a possibility but not sure about Reigns winning the Rumble two in a row but they've driven through Rollins/Ambrose more than enough. Obviously lots will change but Reigns I guess seems the most likely at this point in time though that doesn't really scream main event of the biggest WrestleMania. Actually I'd pick Brock to win it, even if Rollins isn't champion by then. Lesnar/Rollins especially after seeing it at Battleground doesn't really feel like a WM main either, Lesnar/Sheamus may a little more if they build Sheamus up a lot more.
  7. I loved the early 2000s when everything was Saliva, Drowning Pool, Disturbed, Limp Bizkit, etc. Nu metal or whatever, it at least felt very in tune to pop culture and I wish they'd have more mainstream acts like that today.
  8. While I don't think HHH will go over Rollins...
  9. Personally I'd love Rollins/Kane in the Cell next to finally blow off that rivalry and a logical match to use the Cell for. After that, I'd almost expect them to go ahead with Rollins/HHH for Survivor Series unless they do another sort of 5 on 5.
  10. I had fun with the Onita game and the mentioned Jikkyo Power Pro. Elsewhere on the list Gekitou Burning Pro Wrestling was fun, had a similar roster to Super Fire Pro with it's handful of US guys and you could play as the referee too where you could shove the wrestlers down, do fast counts, etc. How's that one? Don't think I'm familiar with it, but love the Genesis.

Yeah as said above, Liger's not working the MSG show but will likely work more NXT shows. He's in the UK against AJ Styles for Revolution Pro on the MSG Date. And I think Brock/Bo was just speculation, nothing confirmed there.
  12. Massive superstar Sasha Banks, badass entrance.
  13. Awesome to see KANA there, didn't expect that. Kana, Flair, and Slaughter together. Joe/Corbin was solid, loved the finish - didn't expect that to actually be the finish. All babyface wins so far, go Sasha.
  14. Keeping my fingers crossed for Liger to get his theme music. That's all I really care about on this show. Joe/Corbin could be interesting and I hope Sasha retains.

    WWE TV 8-17 - 8/23

-Brought up this being his chance to become a 16 time champion and tying HHH's mentor Flair's record which would upset H, saying Flair passed on his legacy to HHH and now HHH is trying to do that with Rollins so Rollins is fighting for HHH's legacy, then said the only difference is HHH was never Flair's bitch while Sunday Cena will make Seth his. -Said Seth isn't the future but a footnote and will just be an answer to the trivia question of who did John Cena beat for his 16th world title. -Pointed out 'lets go cena / cena sucks' but nobody saying a damn thing about Seth Rollins -Called him a cheap imitation and said it's about time he make the title mean something. I personally liked it and always enjoy Cena's extra serious promos. Felt like he was bringing the fire as he should be coming off the broken nose.
  16. Yeah, she got squashed by Mickie James in a disappointingly brief match on that WWEvsECW special they did on Wednesday night before One Night Stand 2. I don't remember her ever showing up on TV again. And why the hell did they hire Scorpio and then never put him on television? He still looked crisp as ever in his indy matches from around that time. Agreed. He worked a loop with Gregory Helms on an overseas tour at the end of 2006 which would've been a really fun feud for Smackdown at the time. That was Helms' best period IMO as the long reigning cruiserweight champ. Then he had a dark match before Smackdown in April 07 against Paul Burchill but nothing ever came of it.
  17. Yeah there was March 05 mentioned above which led to Marty being signed but released shortly after due to an arrest. Then February '06 where he saved Michaels from the Spirit Squad and they were doing Rockers/McMahons before the DX reunion but a few weeks later WWE severed ties with Marty again. September 06 he's signed again for the ECW house shows as mentioned (along with Rodney Mack & Jazz, Brad Armstrong, and 2 Cold Scorpio). Released again shortly after due to the court order not allowing him to leave Florida. A year later he worked the Raw 15th anniversary against Mr. Kennedy in December 07. Then his final appearance was against Miz in September 09 during the guest host era of Raw. Always loved his random returns. I think mentioned earlier throughout the thread is the above Rodney Mack, Jazz, Brad Armstrong, & Scorpio hires in 06, along with Henry Godwin working house shows around that time. Would've been fun if any of them got to work TV other than Armstrong doing a couple commentary spots and Jazz worked I think one match.
  18. Yep, won two matches on RAW with it over Jeff Hardy and Spike Dudley
  19. I'm bummed at no Sting for SummerSlam. Felt they might as well get some use out of him since they're going four hours, bringing Taker back, pushing the show as more like WrestleMania in the Summer. As others have said, I felt Sting could've had some fun interactions with Wyatt. Especially with the match being a six man tag, Sting wouldn't have had to do a ton but could've still added a bunch to the match.
  20. Reverse elimination might be a little misleading on my part. Apparently, it's the person who scores the pin that gets to leave the match instead of the loser leaving. I don't understand that either. Maybe they're bringing back rankings for some strange reason? Yeah it was basically a two fall match. They were doing their own version of the Team Challenge Series for One Night Only and that was a tiebreaker match, first fall got 1st place and second fall got 2nd place.
  21. I think they've pulled Rock 'n' Wrestling from the Network. And Hogan's pulled from WWE 2k16 which blows, for a game hyped as including everyone for the biggest roster ever in a WWE game.
  22. Great to see this continuing!! Glad you enjoyed the Styles/Red match from 12/11/02, one of my favorites. Love that match, so many crazy spots and reversal sequences.
  23. "OH SHIT!" Sad to see this come to a halt as I was looking forward to more with like others mentioned the great stuff in 2003 and beyond. Also was just coming up on a Styles/Red match that I loved on PPV 24 from 12/11/02. Hope to see this continue.
  24. Great to see these back! Your two threads here and the shoots thread are the ones I look forward to most for new posts when I visit the board.
  25. I get what you're saying, but I disagree with a lot from this first paragraph anyway. I may be wrong in assuming that other people have enjoyed Storm as much as I have in recent years, but I certainly have pimped & raved about some of his performances - particularly the singles run from 2011 to late 2013. The matches with Gunner were incredibly fun brawls. The bad acting and terrible TV segments aside... they delivered when it came to in-ring action. And the praise isn't exclusive to Storm there either. Gunner more than held up his end. Didn't feel at all like a carry job. Both guys went out, busted their asses, shed blood, threw bombs, and even cooked up some slightly innovative stuff with their utilization of the weaponry. It wasn't just a string of run-of-the-mill garbage matches. Same could be said for Storm versus Roode - both the Street Fight and the Lockdown Cage match - although I'd admittedly rank both of those higher than the Gunner series. The intensity *MIGHT* have been greater with Gunner in spurts, but the story... the drama... the heat... and the atmosphere was exceptionally higher in the Roode feud, and that's something you rarely got from TNA rivalries. Agreed for sure here. Storm was an incredible top babyface in 2011-2013, most especially in the Roode feud. 2012 is my favorite TNA Year and Storm was my favorite promo in wrestling at that time. Thought he did some real good heel work too in the past couple of years in the Gunner feud, still comes off like a star at times. Gunner was on fire last year and looking real quality, like he could've easily been TNA Champ and the guy to win it from Magnus if they kept going forward with him.
