I watched the BLOW debut show since they put it up on youtube for free. Serious contender for one of the worst wrestling shows of all time featuring 2 of the all time worst matches i've ever seen (Silvie Silver vs Jewells Malone & Silvie vs Becky Bayless) and very little else of any quality (Winters match was decent and Mia Yim vs Christina Von Erie was pretty good and 5* compared to everything else on the show) Sumie Sakai was the highlight of that show for me, thought she put on an entertaining little match with Queen Maya. I've kept up with their results just to see what she does and have wanted to see some of her matches from the other shows but they hadn't uploaded any others.

I always loved the Power Warrior run with Hawk.

I feel like Dolph had lost so many times that it was hard to ever take him seriously as world champ. He's had two reigns now and both were more or less jokes. Even when he does get a "big win" like he beat Cena at TLC last year, that was followed by losing to Cena even with interference in a long Raw match and then losing to Cena in a cage.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?

They were doing about 1 BFG Series match per house show when they obviously should've been running more. 6/27: Magnus over Hernandez 6/28: Joe over Kazarian 7/5: Hardy over Aries 7/6: Daniels over Park 7/19: Joe over Bradley 7/26: Anderson over Styles 8/16: Aries over Anderson 8/17: Roode over Park -
Agreed. May have been Rachel's best match too. I really loved the Del Rey/Jessica James match from Volume 40. Brilliant big vs little match built around the smaller Jessica trying to bring Sara down. Felt like a real breakout performance for the often underrated Jessica but unfortunately she would never be brought back to Shimmer. As for modern joshi, I always enjoy the aforementioned Hamada, Kana, and Matsumoto as well as Arisa Nakajima, Tomoka Nakagawa, Misaki Ohata, Yumi Ohka, and before her retirement Ayumi Kurihara. Kana and Serena Deeb had a good couple matches in Japan a couple years ago.

Loving the look back/match reviews here, good stuff!

Got a laugh out of this paragraph, my fav part of the interview:

Moves. Any time I've seen the Cena vs Punk argument, moves is always a major topic. No matter how many Cena actually does or adds to his moveset, it's always brought up. Cena haters are stuck on the "5 moves" thing and will never stray from it. Some still insist Punk "carried" Cena in their matches.

Really enjoyed those 3 Survivor Series matches. Loved the 04 one with the winners being GM.. Maven was awesome booking himself in a world title match. Maven/HHH was always a great underdog vs champion pairing.

Thought the same. However it hasn't earned her friends. Rhaka Khan replied and went biblical while Reby Sky essentially called her a hard up drug addict. Links? Quotes? Reby: "Not aware of this, if it is true. Doesn’t make much sense, as I don’t know her on a really personal level & we have been nothing but nice to each other in passing at shows. We’ve actually texted back & forth a few times, so if she now has a problem with me, I can only attribute it to one thing/person. Fake as f**k to be nice to my face & talk s**t to a camera if its true, but no shocker there. That’s 99% of the women in this business anyway. Next. Broke wrestlers doing ‘shoot’ interviews for a couple hundred bucks to support their drug habits can KEEP mentioning me. Everyone knows I’m in an AMAZING committed relationship & love a good name drop :)" Then when asked if she's suggesting Kharma is a drug addict "And for the record, yes, that’s exactly what I’m saying, and for damn good reason. No use in continuing to play nice or protect anyone who is sweet to my face & a c**t to me & my close friends behind my back. "

I miss when they used to do the music video versions. The Michaels/Flair "It's Not My Time" MV from WM24 was my all time favorite. 25 had some good ones too. Unfortunately since about 26 it's all been about 'that one match'. 26 being Taker/Michaels, WM 27 being Taker/HHH which did feature Taker's music video entrance to Katy Perry's "ET" that I thought was awesome.. loved it. But yeah this year and last year were just Cena/Rock build & match. I guess the closest they came is having "All We Have" play after Cena's victory, they did something similar with 26 and Taker/Michaels adding in some of HBK's farewell.

TITO ORTIZ!!! TNA's #August1Warning Mystery Man...SMH (Video)

Angle says he's immediately entering rehab so he might not be main eventing for now at least. I guess this will take him out of the MEM vs Aces & Eights match they set up.. unless they use it to write him off. -
Probably the best match of the show IMO. Kind of a shorter version of their grand main event match from vol 35 back in 2010 (my all time favorite Shimmer match, and one of their best top to bottom shows). Eagles is indeed one of the very best, her run on top was Shimmer's peak for me. Great wrestler, character, and promo.

I always enjoyed that match as a crazy old guys blood brawl, thought it was at least fun in that sense aside from the awkward finish. -
Yeah now the RVD/Holly matches especially the back slicer one was awesome stuff. I didn't care for Lashley in ECW but always loved Holly and dug Test too. There was also that super fun extreme rules tag early into the ECW on Syfy run with Dreamer/Sandman vs Test/Knox.
-
Yep they aired a return graphic on SD saying he would return this Monday. He may not be ready to return from a knee injury yet.
-
Lashley's best stuff outside the Cena match was in early 2006. I remember really liking Lashley/JBL from No Way Out 2006 which if I remember right was Lashley's first loss, then he went on to have a very fun feud with Finlay. I think there was one Lashley/Booker match (out of the ton they had) around May 06 that stood out as being much better than their other matches. But yeah once he went to ECW it was all downhill and he was just really not interesting and forced as champion. The only Lashley/Holly match I recall was when they tried to put Holly over as a threat/big test and had Lashley squash him in under 5 mins... that sucked.

Their last one where Punk wins the title on 9/1 is one of my all time favorites.. really perfect blowoff with a red hot crowd making everything feel like a real special moment.
-
Agreed, great look & a killer theme. Had some good matches around that period too, would've loved to have seen him last a little bit longer into the 2010/2011 era of 15 minute Superstars matches.

Story originated as an infamous "wrestlezone exclusive" @DaveBautista "Holy shit!! Im in negotiations with HHH to go back to the WWE! Apparently Im asking for a short term contract! I hope I asked for big money! Please let me know when Im going back! And what I said to HHH. Id like to know. I feel left out! #rumors Not that it wouldn't be nice...just don't want anyone to buy into bullshit rumors. I haven't talked to Hunter. And Im tied down for awhile"

I always thought Michelle McCool was good too, ended up getting very good. My pick as personal favorite diva in the ring will always be Candice Michelle.
-
I loved that Orton won. Thought the match was completely unpredictable and glad it stayed that way all the way through. Figured Bryan had it for sure before Axel showed up.
-
Also thought they were a very good team. Really liked a PPV match they had against Abyss & Sting
-
Piper/Bret from Mania 8 is my favorite match of his. I enjoyed babyface Piper in WWF.
-
Yeah that was a three on one handicap match
