A Santa slip it would seem.
  2. I always figured it would just be the former example, of the ring / square dynamic.
  3. On a personal level, I've always found it odd that Flair and Hart have / had some pretty mutual great buds by all accounts (Perfect, Piper mainly) but don't get on themselves. I think somebody needed to sit the two down a long time ago... It's sad because there was a time where the two were very respectful of each other in public, and rightfully so. This boards epic thread didn't help their matters either, heartless bastads...
  4. ..... this time round
  5. I see your point, and I'm happy you acknowledged the injuries as his style changed dramatically after the pile driver. Many thought Austin wouldn't be working past 1999 after being lucky enough to have a year and a bit after Summerslam 97. When he needed a chair to get to his feet at Backlash 2000, many were worried that he planned on working matches months later (he was being advertised for Fully Loaded that year). But to say he only had good matches with Bret and Rock isn't quite right. He had some belters with HHH (No Mercy 99 comes to mind), Foley (Two PPV's following WM14) Kurt Angle (Summerslam 2001). His work really dipped after 2001 for what of 2002 he was around for due to a combo of injuries and lack of motivation. His one true and proper match of 2003 was dramatic though.
  6. Sad point of interest, Frank died many years ago of cancer

"It" isn't rocket science then, is it... Cena can do or say what the fuck he wants out there. Just because somebody like Sheamus or Cody Rhodes may not have had the confidence to deviate from script (big presumption, for all we know they may have discussed the likelihood of something like that happening in DB's hometown) doesn't mean they don't get "it". "IT"
  8. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks "cattle mutilation" is on the wrong end of the stupid-name-o-meter...
  9. What in your guys' opinion is when ECW got really good? 1995, for sure. It's when the promotion found it's identity. It peaked in 1996, IMO.
  10. In what regards exactly? It's like comparing an action film to a period drama. Both (or all) can be excellent depending on what mood your're in. Foley was one of the most exciting wrestlers of all time, for what it's worth. People are forgetting that in droves with a new era of mongloids coming in talking about "Foley's Feelings, white knighting" etc
  11. I really, really, really hope he doesn't burn his bridges and become one of "those guys." I doubt it.

I will be amazed if they are heading towards a Cena / Bryan match at Mania 30. I cannot see it happening.
  13. That's a harrowing read.
  14. I watched it again about a year ago and I didn't like it at all. there just seemed to be a style clash. Even Jerry and Roddy don't rate it.
  15. Kurt Angle is the only wrestler around today who could handle working Bruise Brody. Because wrestling was a lot tougher back in the day apparently, according to Ric Flair....!

Raw was pretty poor this week. The closing angle was good, but it makes you wonder how they will feel the next couple of TV tapings.
  17. The heart wants what the heart wants...
  18. The match with Big Show and Raven at Mania 17 was a riot...
  19. Watching the Lita bio, It Just Feels Right, released back in 2001. WWE DVD production has come on leaps and bounds since then. The difference in quality is staggering.

wanted to bump this because Stephanie has essentially done nothing since the Dusty Rhodes angle ended. That's almost three months ago. All she's done since is basically stand in the background with a shit eating grin on her face and sarcastically clap and feign "yes" chants. I'm sure she'll be doing more when Vince comes back but it's strange how she's almost disappeared from this whole angle after doing arguably the best work of her career. I'm sure being a mother has changed her perspective or maybe Dusty going off script in their segments dampened her enthusiasm The whole "angle" if you can call it that, has had no direction for a while now.
  21. Seems like an easy way to test this hypothesis would be to look at the vote totals. Did Angle do significantly better among current and former wrestlers than among reporters and historians? Also, for the record, Angle got in with exactly the bare minimum of necessary votes in 2004. I don't know where this notion that he got elected in a cakewalk came from. Old wrestlers always talk up Angle. Always. It always bugs me when Bret does it, since it's pretty hypocritical relative to his comments about Flair. Say what?
  22. It's never crossed my mind, and probably never will. Blood pressure rising ... For the lolz gents
  23. I often wonder who is better out of Ric Flair and Bret Hart...
  24. Did Pillman ever have a great match in the WWF? Bar the 10 man tag?
