WWE TV 05/18 - 05/24 The Last Dance was fucking incredible
Tenese Sarwieh replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Edge/Orton had a great match in 04 at Vengeance and a good match in 06 on Raw to write off Orton after his first wellness violation. They had good chemistry back but now I don't think they can pull it off. -
[1990-06-07-Hamada's UWF] Negro Casas vs Yoshinari Asai
Tenese Sarwieh replied to Loss's topic in June 1990
This a great mixture of strong mat work and strikes that looked intense and snug. Wish there was more performances from Casas in Japan like this.- 14 replies

This had high stakes with this one, mask vs mask. Both feel each other out with strong mat work trying their best to get in a submission for the first fall. They had cool looking transitions setting up their holds leading to the big surprising finish with Aereo submitting Villano III Jr with a Atlántida, the same move Atlantis used to put away Jr's father Villano III in their legendary mask vs mask match in 2000. The pace picks up in the second fall with the Aereo hitting high spots and the desperate Villano III Jr faking a knee injury to gain the upper advantage and hitting some high spots of his own. The big spot of this fall was Villano III Jr hitting a tope suicida busting open both in the process, another callback to the 2000 Atlantis/Villano III classic. Things got tied up when Jr nailed a senton to even the falls to 1-1. And came the third fall which was an all out fight. They went through the crowd using every and any they could find to inflict as much punshment they could. then came a series of false finishes that the crowd and myself bit on. This lead to one of the most creative finishes to a mask vs mask match I've ever seen giving Villano III Jr the win for the final fall. This was brilliant storytelling, they paid homage to Atlanis/Villano III while implementing elements that made their match unique and special in it's own right. Both men gave it their all with performances that will forever be etched in my mind, this is the MOTY for 2020.

[2001-05-31-WWF-Smackdown] Steve Austin vs Chris Benoit
Tenese Sarwieh replied to Superstar Sleeze's topic in May 2001
Awesome match with the hometown hero in a very hot crowd with his second attempt the capture the WWF title from Austin. Everything Benoit did was intense and conveyed aggression and urgency at it's highest level. Austin with his heel work was stellar by cutting off Benoit and showing ass at the right moments to get the crowd invested even more. My god Austin was so unselfish making Benoit look like the top face of the company. Also he was extremely giving taking ten german suplexes with a surgically repaired neck, insane. The finish took nothing away from Benoit having Austin squeak out the win being taken to the limit with the roll up with the trunks. Awesome match!!! -
Nothing I didn't already knew about Abrams, he did a lot of coke. What really stands out on this season of dark side is how connected Vince is to every story they've told so far.

I was hyped coming on to this episode because of El Hijo del Vikingo and I must say I was disappointed. All the performers ard good but the six felt disjointed in some parts. I guess Impact had the right strategy in focusing only on Vikingo because he is a worldwide star in the making. Also I'm in the camp of the LA Park cooking show, this man can make anything work with his charisma.

In some cases the greater the player the great the ego and that will make them feel like they can do anything they want.

I'd give Jumbo Tsuruta vs Genichiro Tenryu 6/5/89 a strong consideration. This match had a ripple effect setting the tone in the 90s for All Japan and becoming the most influential style in wrestling history.

This was a good edition of Dynamite. Both tournament matches were solid but i hope in the future they point out that one of Allin's shoulders was not on the mat, I could be wrong though in what I saw. Britt Baker continues to shine as a heel and is my top pick for gimmick of year. It was also nice seeing Rebel too, I'm digging these cameos AEW inserts on occasion. We all knew it was coming down to Cody/Archer in the finals but they did a good job putting heat on it involving Dustin, good stuff.

Great back and forth action with everyone playing their parts well that peaked at the right moment. Kaji Tomato/CHANGO was great at being baby faces, it helped elevate things when they were working underneath especially with Nagai on offense. The finishing stretch was amazing with amazing pinning maneuvers. Also one thing that stood out for me while all four was good Ayato Yoshida really on another level here. He was the smoothest and his strikes was perfectly snug, I see a big future for him down road. Best match 2AW of the year so far.

[1991-05-19-WCW-Superbrawl I] Sting & Lex Luger vs Rick & Scott Steiner

An awesome sprint of a baby face vs baby face bomb fest that is perfectly compact. Good offense from both teams and a crazy hot crowd makes it even better.- 22 replies

[1998-04-21-FMW-Fighting Creation] Mr Gannosuke vs Jinsei Shinzaki
Tenese Sarwieh replied to Loss's topic in April 1998
Fun stuff with baby face Shinzaki making a fiery comeback against heel Gannosuke after being busted open from a powerbomb through a table and having the cut worked on in the process. -
[2000-08-06-NOAH-Departure II] Kenta Kobashi vs Jun Akiyama
Tenese Sarwieh replied to Loss's topic in August 2000
A very good match that got over Akiyama's submission. You could feel the tension conveyed between the two and left me wanting more at the end.- 19 replies

[1998-07-24-AJPW-Summer Action Series] Kenta Kobashi vs Jun Akiyama
Tenese Sarwieh replied to Loss's topic in July 1998
From the urgency shown from Akiyama with his limb work to the out of this world facials and selling from Kobashi made this a brilliant piece of work. Everything done here had meaning especially Akiyama cutting off Kobashi comebacks viciously going after the knee he worked on earlier. Kobashi put on a masterclass on how to be an effective baby face working underneath and perfectly making the comebacks at the right time, this was a banger of 98.- 16 replies

[1996-05-11-ECW-A Matter of Respect] Shane Douglas vs 2 Cold Scorpio
Tenese Sarwieh replied to Loss's topic in May 1996
A fantastic match with moves that was executed well but what really made this stand out was the brilliant storytelling with both men learning a lesson about respect. Douglas started off thinking the television title was beneath him, that this is a waste of his precious time. As the match progressed a switch flipped and Douglas was in it to win in giving all he had, actually caring about winning this title ultimately respecting it. Scorpio for his part had to learn respect for you opponent, in the middle part of the match he hit three of his kill shots and refused to put Douglas away, treating his challenger as insignificant and it costed him in the end, again brilliant storytelling.- 12 replies

WWE TV 4/20-4/26 time for the Ingovernables de Titan Sports to reign supreme
Tenese Sarwieh replied to sek69's topic in WWE
I only tuned in for Rey/Murphy. It was good but man having a crowd there really elevate things, I think I've reached a turning point to the empty arena matches. -
They could've got some local guys for the War Raiders to go through, Cedric/Ricochet are stuck in the freezer.
-
Tozawa/Crews would be a great babyface tag team right now.
-
Ok, thanks.

How did Shayna lose? she was kicking ass.

[2001-08-12-NJPW-G1 Climax] Keiji Muto vs Yuji Nagata
Tenese Sarwieh replied to Loss's topic in August 2001
Started off fine with decent mat work with both trying to get the advantage, which really should've been condensed to show Nagata is superior than Mutoh in the grappling department. Later on Mutoh did his standard leg work and had brief period of combating that working on Mutoh's leg himself. After Mutoh no selling the exploder and hitting a Shining Wizard they a great finishing sequence that the crowd bought leading to Nagata getting the win. This match had some elements that clicked and some that didn't, still this was a good match.- 6 replies

[2020-04-08-WWE-NXT] Johnny Gargano vs Tommaso Ciampa
Tenese Sarwieh replied to SmartMark15's topic in April 2020
Tried to create an melodramatic epic but failed miserably, this was hot garbage at it's finest.
