I was watching some of the first season of Lucha Underground and it had me thinking about Ricky Banderas. He never held my interest anywhere he's been but when he put that mask on as Mil Muertes he jumps out at me. Curious to see if there's any other makeovers that did the same on the forum.

[2019-06-09-NJPW-Dominion] Kota Ibushi vs Tetsuya Naito
Tenese Sarwieh replied to paul sosnowski's topic in June 2019
These two must of made a pact to go out their everytime and give each other near death experiences. I know everyone will focus only on the gruesome german spot but this really was a great match. Naito was on point being the heel working relentlessly on Ibushi's neck and spitting on anyone in sight. And Ibushi gave as much as he took giving stiff kicks and drops of his own. This was wrestling russian roulette at it's finest. -
[2019-03-09-wXw-AMBITION 10] Yuki Ishikawa vs Timothy Thatcher
Tenese Sarwieh replied to Jetlag's topic in March 2019
This was something and these two did not hold back one bit. Everything was intense, stiff, and was a struggle making it seem that both men was really trying to inflict the most pain on each other as possible. This is making my list. -
Digging them bringing in Havok for their women division, also a plus having James Mitchell being her manager. The only draw back is she's going to be tied down with the Rosemary/Su Yung stuff. Just have her be a monster and have Mithchell cut great promos. I think it would've been from them to have the working relationship with stardom instead of ROH. They could've easily filled out their tv tapings and ppvs with those fun stable trios matchs and other cool things. My only complaint with Impact is the use of The Rascalz, they have so much potential that has not been tapped into (especially Dezmond Xaiver). It's time for them to not be geeks or goofs and be put in a more serious role. Hopefully this program woth LAX can bring it out of them.

Horrible indeed and a big blow to All Japan. Wondering who's going to take over running the dojo? R.I.P.

This was a tremendous match with a mix of everything from mat work, hard strikes, and high flying. Both men fought with such desperation to put the other away the crowd felt it and so did I. There was times that both men ages showed being extremely tired but that made the whole work better. Something that elevated it even more for me was when Virus has on the STF and Metalico made a rope break and Virus pulls his arm back in an attempt to finally submit him. Little things like made me pop out of my chair. This is my top Lucha match so far this year and a MOTYC.

This whole story is nuts on all sides. I know spouting out slurs and insults are bad but having the nerve to spit on someone is the most disrespectful thing you can do and cancels out everything the fan did, if that was me I would've been throwing hands. And for a person in Bully Ray who was known back in the day in ECW calling women whores and bitches to get offended has me scratching my head. I know the fan was getting into it with your girl but my dude get a grip and don't be too thin skinned. He better sue with the quickness.

[2019-05-25-AEW-Double or Nothing] Young Bucks vs Lucha Brothers
Tenese Sarwieh replied to paul sosnowski's topic in May 2019
I can only put this match in one word MOVEZ and I loved every single minute if it. -
These two had a CMLL lightning match I enjoyed so much with Titan giving his best performance of the tournament so far. While they established that this would be a respectable contest at the beginning they wasted no time and went at each other hard. Throwing hard strikes and flawless highspots made this a highlight one of the best matches in the entire tournament.

[2019-05-25-AEW-Double or Nothing] Cody vs Dustin Rhodes
Tenese Sarwieh replied to paul sosnowski's topic in May 2019
I said earlier in one if the AEW threads here that this match could be the dark horse match of the night and boy did this over exceeded my expectations and then some. I rarely quiet during wrestling matches but this caught my full attention from start to finish. Cody may not be a great technician or high flyer but he has found his niche at doing simple old school storytelling with lots of emotion. He was in rare form being the slimy heel with help from Brandi. Things progressed slow til Dustin got busted open. Cody was magnificent working over the cut and Dustin being the firey babyface with a full on Muta Scale making his come backs was a sight to see. Him popping out a Code Red for a nearfall popped me out of my seat. This performance from him cemented Dustin Rhodes in my eyes as an all time great. Then the post match stuff is a perfect example of how great professional wrestling can be. This is a absolute MOTYC for sure. -
Bucks/Lucha Bros was everything I needed it to be, crazy spots and then some.
-
Dustin Rhodes is a great pro wrestler, plain and simple.
-
Such basic storytelling at it's best between these two. Great stuff so far.

I got some friends coming over, can't drop the full $50. Expecting a good show and Cody/Dustin might be the dark horse match of the night. From time to time Cody can pull out a hell of a performance.

I feel sorry for Roman, he's gonna have to sell those shitty punches and triangle choke from Shane.

Someone got new theme music.

Horrible news indeed. I thought that I could watch the vid but I can't. My best memories of King are as a child in the 90s watching him and the rest of the luchadores in WCW mostly in fun trios matches. Then years later I watched a stellar match he had with Jushin Liger in the BOSJ 01. 51 is so young, my prayers and condolences to his family and those who knew him. Also SteveMPunk I'm so sorry you had to go through a experience like that.
