I really dug this match. The heat is uncanny and we get legit pinfalls for each guy with each fall. Barr has a great dropkick. Eddie is just on fire here - ripping off everything in his arsenal trying to put El Hijo del Santo away. The drama with the piledrivers really amps things up during the third fall. I really enjoyed this (also worth noting, the WWE 24/7 version has a 6 minute cut but there is a version on youtube of the complete show that is 6 minutes longer which has the whole match).

[1995-09-22-AAA] Rey Misterio Jr vs Psicosis
bradhindsight replied to Loss's topic in September 1995
Loss summed up my biggest takeaway - I don't know how anyone could top the aerial work in this match. I mean they do EVERYTHING you can think of to the outside, with the dives being crisp and breathtaking, but also very violent.- 7 replies

I'm glad they're looking outside the Northeast for top prospects.

Adam - you're in all of our thoughts. Your poise under these awful circumstances is otherworldly and an inspiration to everyone.

The piece I'm not connecting with is something both Mike Johnson and Joeg (earlier in this thread) have noted: that Dave Chapelle did the same thing on SNL and no one is chastising him. Chapelle told a made-up anecdote about a housekeeper at Trump's hotel - a fictional joke to play off his comment. He didn't surprise a cast member by saying the same to her, or insinuating sexual assault.

I didn't think this had been noted anywhere, but in Michael Elgin's press release for his ROH-sponsored camp that he's doing in December (out of St. Louis vs. Bristol PA where the ROH ones are) he notes that Curt Stallion, one of his students/guys that did his camp prior, is in the 2017 Top Prospect tournament.

This Week In Wrestling Indys & International 11/11/16

Sucked to hear that Wrestle Circus had a production company lined up and they no-showed on them - man, what bad luck. Fortunately someone else filmed - honestly with the card he put out, I'm sure part of his budget was VOD. At a minimum it was guaranteed marketing for the next shot of shows. They have some big names lined up for this month. He mentioned being in the same city as FloSlam, but Pete also touched on Powerbomb.TV and with that model being VOD-centric out of the gate, seems like it could be a good fit to get really big names on that platform. -
Excited for this as an expanded stand-alone (also up at PTBN)

How did things go with the first two Evolve shows stream/audio-wise?

Release schedule this week for the top 150 is Tues/Wed/Thurs!

In the vein of Talking Smack (very successful) it makes a lot of sense given how those shows draw the highest ratings on ESPN and FS1, Not my cup of tea but could see a big swath of subscribers.

Manatee - you're going to see that from 1985 forward on the Place to Be Podcast. They'll be circling back to '85 and running through every MSG show in addition to the super shows. Scott and Justin excel in that time period - we've recently written refreshes of the shows (not the MSG ones) from that time and have an eBook of them out. That's on the Place to Be Nation Wrestling feed. Friendly bump of this post also for being 11/12. One pilot has already debuted and we have a couple others in production. Still time for ideas and submissions.

Really enjoying the interview with Al Lenhart. Really like how you went into the business planning side Pete - that was something I was really interested in. -

I thought the initial 6 minute fight was on YouTube at one point. If anyone would like to learn more on this - Loss wrote this fantastic piece for Place to Be Nation: http://placetobenation.com/the-story-of-jerry-lawler-and-the-snowman/ -
Outside the War Machine vs. Lee/Taylor match -- this week's show caps the Lowell tapings pretty well with two of the best from that set. Dragon Lee/Fish is solid, but a lot purposely left on the table for their Final Battle match and the Kingdom/Bullet Club match got a lot of time (with a payoff to the Taven/Cole stuff from March).

I've been enjoying these - that ****3/4 tag goes right up to the top of my viewing list for the #ROH50 project.

I do think the lack of all those guys in Japan this week probably hurt sales as well. I mean we're talking Cole, Lethal and the Bucks. Big names.
-
I found the timing kind of funny, but Gabe putting the most recent Hero/Riddle match up for free - while FloSlam had just uploaded and promoted having that match/show - made me laugh.
-
I saw feedback from a guy who went to both Texas shows and they were seemingly really good. Arlington (new market - Thursday) attendance was meh, not sure on SA - pictures I saw seemed normal.

Back to FloSlam - good to hear the live stream was a marked improvement over WWN. I think they definitely did right with the yearly commitment being almost 40% in savings. That's a strong way to lock people in while they add content and figure things out. I also agree their launch seemed premature - no lead editor hired, seemingly one guy running the wrestling side.
