  1. :you still got it: chant. Got about 40 minutes left here - you guys didn't miss a beat. also "Orndork" is tremendous.
  2. ^ That's kind of my question also; I'd phrase it as "You've spent a lot of time around wrestling and wrestling on TV. With that knowledge, how do you differentiate yourself instead of using the same old tropes." Dave talks a good talk, but I agree with Tom - no evidence suggests anything different (and to be honest, Dave's favorite ideas that made TV, which he's highlighted on twitter at times, are l-a-m-e).
  3. Hemorrhaging funds read to me like they are actually paying their people, and seeing how this definitely isn't a viable opportunity. I don't know how they're just learning this now, really bad homework done by them going in.
  4. We watched this as part of our July live watch so my running steam of consciousness notes flow like this: -HHH bumping face first off a shoulder to the gut through the ropes is fantastic. -Like the rib work and I love a good irish whip into an abdominal stretch (not being snarky) -I like the first count centered around the ribs after all the work he did. -Hunter's disgust over the pedigree not getting the 10 count really gets the match and Jericho over - Excellent transition - Low blow -> chair shot -> Jericho still selling on offense and taking it to HHH -Terrific finish booking-wise. Table spot looked rougher than i remembered (poor HHH's knee essentially took the brunt to break it). Loved everything they did count-wise there. Terrific match still 17 years later. ****1/4
  5. Okada coming in with the neck issue was a perfect way to segue right into the good stuff, with no 20 minutes to pre-work. Probably my favorite of the three (I did enjoy the drama and freshness of their first meeting), and a lot of the little things that bugged me in their first two matches were gone here as well. Doctor spot was weird given the result of the match, but maybe worked to better put over the final couple of moves. Even though I knew the results I was still on the edge of my seat figuring out how they were going to get there within 30 minutes. This was not excess Kenny either. ****3/4
  6. I loved this and the clover leaf sequence is such a great play off the Dominion finish and damn if Tanahashi didn't make it convincing. I also like that they didn't go back to that drawn out drama (no need to bring about diminishing returns to the drama) - there weren't a lot of covers at all either, excellent pacing. This match flies by also - at the 25 minute mark i was stunned it had been that long. I ended up rating this one slightly higher than their other two - the entire trilogy this year is an all-timer. ****3/4
  7. So what was the timeline with the Low Ki match? Was that live - or pre-taped?
  8. WWE.com had a news blurb up that was pre-written as it talked about a different finish to the match - that Corbin was to come in and go after Nakamura only to hit Cena in error - helping Nakamura inadvertantly win the match. Thankfully John squashed that awful idea and put him over clean.

  11. Part of me wishes this was one of the first days of the G1 so we had a fresher Kojima as I thought he was better in the Juice match (as one example). But he plays a beaten-down underdog very quickly and is great here. Smug Okada, growing more arrogant as his reign goes on, actively adds to the match. I kind of hated being spoiled on the result going in here, as I wanted to believe. Loved the rainmake by Kojima to counter the real rain maker. Very fun. ***3/4
